Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. E.W. Lewis, the Rev. Beverly Cook and the Rev. Marvin James officiating. Entombment will be in Resthaven Mausoleum by Rix Funeral Directors. Mrs. Harris was born Nov. 13, 1922, in Canadian. She graduated from Canadian High School, and attended Cottey College, Trinity University and Texas Tech. She married Jay Harris on July 21, 1943, in Canadian. She was a Presbyterian and had taught Sunday school. She was a member of the Women's Circle, the Pierian Sorosis Study Club, the Heritage Study Club and the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was a pioneer planner of the Planetarium at Texas Tech and lectured there for a number of years. She was a world traveler and the author of travel articles concerning the nations she visited that reflected on the diplomatic, historical, cultural and political views of those nations. She had met personally a number of world leaders. She photographed and presented programs and slide shows regarding her travels. Survivors include her husband; a sister, Johanne Blodgett of Spearman; and a brother, Carlton A. Studer Jr. of Killeen. The family suggests memorials be to the Southwest Collection at Texas Tech University, P.O. Box 41041, Lubbock, TX 79409, to help in preserving the history of the Panhandle and South Plains. Private family graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Ochiltree County Cemetery with "Bud" Nitschke, brother, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Spearman. Mr. Nitschke graduated from Winfield High School in Winfield, Kan., and attended Independence Junior College. He was involved in wheat farming and ranching all his life. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. For the past 10 years he "fought the good fight" with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease), and lastly cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Martha Nitschke, and his wife, Elizabeth Ann. Survivors include a son, Samuel Kelln Nitschke of Spearman; three daughters, Shanynn Bunce and Sonya-Jo Nitschke, both of Boulder, Colo., Stacia Adkisson of Odessa; a brother, Luther "Bud" Nitschke of Cambridge, Kan.; a sister, Mayme Louise Kauffeld of Baton Rouge, La.; and three grandchildren, Joshua, Alexis and Elizabeth. Mrs. Hart was born March 11, 1928, on the family farm in Hansford County northeast of Gruver. She graduated from Gruver High School. She attended Texas Woman's University in Denton and West Texas State College in Canyon. She was a lifelong resident of Hansford County and was involved in farming and ranching. She was a partner in the Palo Duro Grain Co. She was involved in the Republican Party and was a state committee woman. In 1984 she was a member of the Electoral College that re-elected Ronald Reagan president of the United States. She served as a Gruver City Councilwoman. She was instrumental in obtaining the funds for Gruver Municipal Swimming Pool. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lola Reynolds; a brother, Ira Tomlinson; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Hart Tidwell. Survivors include a son, Jerry Hart of Morse; a daughter, Ginger Pittman of Spearman; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She left behind the arms that held us no matter what, the lips that kissed us and made it all better, the hands that nurtured us in sickness and in health, and the heart that loved us for better or worse. She was a skilled and trusted nurses aide and an accomplished seamstress. She supervised and worked in the assembly of intricate electronic circuitry and she was the dearest of friends. But her greatest accomplishments were as a loving wife of a minister and the mother of three surviving children who adored her. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Rose Miller; her sister, Coleen Stowe; and her parents, Esther and William Stowe. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Lawrence A. Miller; a son, the Rev. Marvin Dale Miller of Lynville, Iowa; two daughters, Brenda Darlene Beck of Amarillo and Bonnie Lynn Miller Ramos of San Antonio; two sisters, Laura Ann Ellis and Karen Sue Ratliff, both of Borger; four brothers, Kenneth E.
