Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Dr. Randy White, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mrs. Lyles was born Feb. 14, 1914, at Kiowa, Okla., to Fred and Sally Conner. Her family moved to Pampa in 1929 and she was a lifetime resident, with the exception of a 10-year period in the 1940s and 1950s. She retired from Stephen F. Austin Elementary School, where she served as manager of the cafeteria. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Dorcas Sunday school class. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She moved to Garland 1 years ago to be near her daughter. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Raymond Conner, Jesse Conner and Harold Conner; a sister, Avis Walls; a son, Robert Pullen; and two husbands, Claude "Shorty" Pullen and Ocie Lyles. Survivors include a daughter, Sally Hankins and husband, Franklin, of Garland; three sisters, Vesta Phillips and husband, Mitchell, and Freddie Seitz, all of Pampa, and Geraldine Ward of Tulsa, Okla.; a brother, Frank Conner and wife, Mary, of Pampa; two sisters-in-law, Frances Conner of Pampa and Doris Conner of Houston; three grandchildren, LaJuana Geigle and husband, Roger, and David Hankins, all of Garland, and Lori Pence of Lawton, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren, Bobby Decker of Omaha, Neb., Tammy Decker, Heather Crossley and Kristin Crossley, all of Garland, and Ryan Pence of Lawton. The family will be at 409 Hazel St. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 21, 2001 Calvin "C.L." Stovall HEREFORD - Calvin "C.L." Stovall, 81, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Parkside Chapel with the Rev. Randy Bird and the Rev. Ted Taylor officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. Stovall was born Aug. 2, 1920, at Bethel, Okla., the son of Rob and Eunice Stovall. He married Viola Holmes on July 18, 1942, at Clebit, Okla. He had lived in Hereford since 1960 where he was a self-employed landscaper. He was an avid deer hunter, loved gardening, attended Hereford Church of the Nazarene and the Barn Church of Hereford. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Melvin Stovall of Fritch and Wayne Stovall of Amarillo; two daughters, Elaine Parker of New Caney and Darlene Stovall of Hereford; two sisters, Alta Kemp of Broken Bow, Okla., and Audrey Moore of Bethel; 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 21, 2001 Abbie Faye Northcutt MULESHOE - Abbie Faye Northcutt, 7, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, in Baton Rouge, La. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery with Sam Billingsley of Lariat and Tommy Dahn of Houston officiating. Arrangements are by Ellis Funeral Home. Family's favorite Scripture verses, 1 Samuel 1:27-28: "For this child I prayed; and the Lord hath given me my petition which I asked of him. Therefore also I have lent him to the Lord. And he worshiped the Lord there." Services will be at 10 a.m. today in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jake Clemmens, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Miller came to Pampa in 1946 from New Orleans. He was a longtime shoe salesman in Pampa. Survivors include a niece, Dr. Jackie Hanson Hunt of Mason. Amarillo Globe-News, Nov. 21, 2001 Wilma Tarr BORGER - Wilma Tarr, 102, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Ponca City, Okla., with the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong, rector of Grace Episcopal Church of Ponca City, officiating. Arrangements are by Brown Funeral Directors. Mrs. Tarr was born in Terre Haute, Ind., and lived in Borger since 1988. She was a nurse. Survivors include five daughters, Pauline Eithol Dickison of Borger, Aline Lamb of Tulsa, Okla., Isabell Wells of Paden, Okla., Fern Bryant of Ponca City, Okla. and Metta Moore of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Hiram McDaniels and Ollie McDaniels, both of Illinois; 21 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Bob Shephard of University Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. McGee was born and raised in Oklahoma. She graduated from high school in Shawnee, Okla. She married Ernest McGee in 1940 at Shawnee. They lived in Hereford for many years before moving to Amarillo in 1978. She was a member of Church of Christ in Hereford for many years. She was an artist as well as a homemaker. She was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ at the time of her death. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1997. Survivors include two sons, Leslie L. McGee of DeSoto and Mike McGee of Canyon; a brother, Ed Laster of Erick, Okla.; and three grandchildren, Karen Shugart of Del Rio, Megann Shepard of Stillwater, Okla., and John Michael McGee of Canyon. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Roberts was born in Grand Saline and had been an Amarillo resident since 1956. She married John Roberts Jr. in 1940 at Dallas. She worked many years for Levi Strauss and was a homemaker. She was a member of West Amarillo Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1996 and a son, John Michael Roberts,-0 in 1991. Survivors include two daughters, Deanna Estes and Sandra Smith, both of Amarillo; two sons, Dale Roberts and Kevin Roberts, both of Amarillo; three sisters, Jo Young of Dallas, Delores Slaton of Mineola and Hazel Tucker of Grand Saline; four grandchildren, Shannon Duby, Keith Smith and Jay Estes, all of Amarillo, and Susan LaGrone of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and eight great-grandchildren. Mass will be at 2 p.m. today in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. John Hickey officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Betancourt was born and raised in Kingsville. He worked as a cowboy at Kings Ranch until he moved to Amarillo in 1965. After moving to Amarillo, he worked for the city of Amarillo as a paver and for the Amarillo Independent School District. Survivors include an ex-wife, Maria A. Betancourt; two daughters, Maria G. Murguia and Susana Sanchez, both of Amarillo; five sons, Raul Betancourt Jr. of San Antonio, and Manuel Betancourt, Juan Betancourt, Daniel Betancourt and David Betancourt, all of Amarillo; three sisters, Maria DeLeon of Houston, Consuelo Alanis of Fritch and Margarita Alvarez of Arlington; a brother, Pablo Betancourt of Houston; 30 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
