Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neely Landrum officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. Morris was a member of the Methodist church and a Sunday school teacher. He devoted his life to his family and his community. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; a son, David George Morris Jr. of Memphis; a daughter, Connie Mondragon of Memphis; a sister, Carolyn Dismuke of Amarillo; a brother, Dale Morris of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren. Mr. Bailey was born Feb. 12, 1931, in Davis, Okla. He married Rheba Rhea Fain on Dec. 30, 1949, at Childress. They lived in Collingsworth County until moving to Shamrock in 1956. Joe was a cattle buyer and stock farmer. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Lajuanna and son-in-law, Kenneth Harder; and a grandson, Kevin Bailey Harder, all of Dallas. Jerry Coffman officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Houtchens was a lifelong resident of the Amarillo area. He was a retired tool and machine inspector at Pantex for 33 years. He belonged to the Machinist and Carpenters Union. He also was active in the Amarillo Widows and Widowers Association. He was born in Harrold and came to Amarillo as a young boy. He attended Amarillo High School. On Aug. 1, 1940, he and Helen Louise Baker were married. She preceded him in death on Jan. 28, 1999. He also was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. Kenyeth was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include a son, Terry Houtchens and his wife, Lori, of Amarillo; two daughters, Judy Glidewell and her husband, Tom, and Susie Pope and her husband, Bob, all of Canyon; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 22, 2001 Frances Esther Tucker Frances Esther Ingram Johnson Tucker, 86, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with Dr. Howard Batson, senior pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Claude Cemetery. Frances Tucker was born in Armstrong County on the rim of Palo Duro Canyon to pioneer ranching and farming parents Grover and Esther Swift Ingram on Aug. 12, 1915. The last member of her immediate family, she joined in heaven her parents, brother and sister on Aug. 19, 2001, at the age of 86. Reared in Carson County, she was a Panhandle High School graduate and a lifelong resident of Amarillo. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 48 years and attended the Anna Rachel Sunday school class. She composed volumes of poetry, most of which conveyed the experiences of growing up in the rural early 20th century. She was an active member of the High Plains Poetry Society of Texas and the Texas Federation of Women's Clubs for many years. She was recognized at numerous Cowboy Symposiums. Widowed twice at early ages, her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Catherine and Gary Hickman of Dumas; and three sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Barbara Johnson of Amarillo, Ray and Delores Johnson of Commerce and Cliff and Linda Johnson of Rockdale. Also surving are granddaughters, April Johnson Spikes and Tanya Sue Mount and grandsons, Kery, Kevin, Christopher, Todd and Ty Johnson and Josh Mount. Fourteen great-grandchildren survive as well as numerous cousins throughout the Texas Panhandle. The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church, 1201 S. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Laurence Cathedral. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Felipe M. Fajardo, 86, passed away at his home in Amarillo, Monday afternoon. Mr. Fajardo had been a resident of Amarillo for more than a half a century. During that time he was an active member of his community and St. Laurence Catholic Church. He attended Amarillo College. He also was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and the Sears Retired Citizens Club. Felipe and Livy Madrid were the first two young men from Guadalupe County, N.M. to enlist in the Armed Forces to serve in World War II. He proudly fought on the beaches of Normandy at the Battle of the Bulge. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Agnes Padilla Fajardo, four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Fajardo and their children, Camille and Nathan of Austin; Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Fajardo of Amarillo and their children, Ruby and Amber; Mr. Willie Marsh and Nita Fajardo-Marsh and their children, Mr. and Mrs. Derek Hatley and Cayce Marsh; Christina Fajardo and her children, Adriane and Christian Ethridge, all of Austin. He also is survived by his brothers, Joe, Alfonso, Johnny and Gene Fajardo; and sisters, Nea Reynosa and Consuela Ambriz. She graduated from Velma-Alma High School in Velma, Okla., and attended Grace & Glory Bible School in Kansas City, Mo. She was a non-denominational Christian. She married Max Tow in 1966 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Christina Bohn of Amarillo and Phebe Selby of Borger; her mother, Belle Rogers of Wichita; four brothers, Marvin Rogers of Marion, Iowa, Don Rogers, Clifford Rogers and Gavin Rogers, all of Wichita; two sisters, Wylma Seabaugh of Piedmont, Mo., and Beverly McKinney of Oklahoma City; and six grandchildren, Justin, Amanda, Elaine, Thurston, David and Daniel. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. VanDoren was born Dec. 14, 1915, in Wheeler, Kan. She married Charles Edwin VanDoren Aug. 14, 1935, in St. Francis, Kan. He preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1997. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was a member of the McDowell Music Club. Mrs. VanDoren was a musician, piano teacher and violinist for the Amarillo Symphony. She was an oil paint and watercolor artist. Survivors include two sons, Gary VanDoren of Andover, Maine and Ken VanDoren of Canyon; a daughter, Rita Flynn of Richardson; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Aaron Summers officiating. Burial will be in Hartville Cemetery, southeast of Hardesty. Mrs. Richards was born May 16, 1931, on the family farm east of Hardesty, the daughter of S.L. "Pete" and Elva Hart Johnson. She married Robert Eugene Richards on Jan. 1, 1955, in the United Brethren Church at Hardesty. Survivors include her husband; a son, Tom Richards of San Bernardino, Calif.; a daughter, Rebecca Richards of Guymon; two brothers, Paul Johnson of Hawthorne, Calif., and Shorty Johnson of Guymon; and a sister, Ava Rose High of Wichita, Kan. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today in the church by the Rev. C. John Brasher, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Springer, officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors. Mrs. Anaya was born April 6, 1912, in Bueyeros. A resident of Clayton since 1989, she lived most of her life in Santa Fe. Survivors include a sister, Lora Maes of Denver; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Gomez Vigil of Clayton. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 22, 2001 Elsewhere Raymond Yell MIDLAND - Dr. Raymond Yell died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001. Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Grace Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park by Ellis Funeral Home. Raymond Yell was born Feb. 28, 1939, in Wellington to J.R. and Ruth Yell. He graduated from Dumas High School and was active in the tennis program. He moved to Midland in the late 1960s. He attained his bachelor of science degree from Baylor University, his master's degree from South Carolina University and his doctor of philosophy from Texas Tech University. He was employed with Midland College for 30 years, part of this being when Midland College was a branch of Odessa College. He also coached in the Midland Volleyball program. On May 28, 1994, he married Sharon McCrary at Grace Presbyterian Church in Midland. He was a member of the United States Tennis Association, Dumas Masonic Lodge, and a volunteer for Midland Christian's volleyball team. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Yell; and his parents. Survivors include his wife; his daughters, Brenda Haynes and her husband, Robert, of Amarillo and Lesley McCrary of Sherman; his brothers, Joe Yell and his wife, Joann of Guymon, Okla., and Bill Yell and his wife, Geneva, of Houston; his granddaughter, Chandra Jones of Amarillo; and numerous nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Wright, Tim Carter, Dennis Johnson, Terry Creech, Rusty Fuller, Steve Ashley, David Sparks, Mike Bustillos and Vernon Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Thomas, Tracy Sivals, Bill Mills, Don Jones, Robert Jackson, Lance Mills, Larry Gates, Tracy Britton, Don Stevens, Jay Edwards and Greg Euston.
