Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, north of Hereford, with Dr. Clifford Trotter officiating. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home of Hereford. Mrs. Cowan was born Aug. 20, 1911, in Anson, the daughter of C.W. and Norah Reeves. She married Kenneth "Doc" Cowan on June 6, 1935. She moved to Hereford in 1951 where she was the co-owner of Cowan's Jewelers for more than 40 years. In 1993, she moved to Arlington to live with her daughter and son-in-law. She was an avid reader, an expert knitter, loved her dogs over the years and was known as a specialist in growing roses. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hereford. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in 1983, and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Virginia Koppany, and husband, Karl, of Arlington; one grandson, Scot Skinner and wife, Crisann, of Plano; and one great-grandson, Cale. Amarillo Globe-News, May 22, 2001 Susie M. Bradstreet SHAMROCK - Susie M. Bradstreet, 88, died Sunday, May 20, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Christian Fellowship Church with Joe G. Jernigan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Dozier Cemetery at Dozier. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Bradstreet was born to Ben and Lola Nixson on Dec. 20, 1912. She lived in Wheeler and Collingsworth Counties her entire life, and had lived in Shamrock since 1961. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She married Alta Harvey in 1934; he preceded her in death in 1946 in a drowning accident. She then married W.R. Bradstreet in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1979. She also was preceded in death by a son, Glen Riley Bradstreet, in 1950, a son, Ray Harvey, in 1986, two stepdaughters and four stepsons. Survivors include two sons, Robert Harvey of Fresno, Calif., and Raymond Harvey of Amarillo; two daughters, Etta Hudson and Linda Hall, both of Shamrock; a sister, Maybelle White of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Cremation will follow. Mr. Kellogg was a heavy-equipment operator before becoming branch manager for American Glass Distributor. He married Sharon Neasbitt on April 1, 1980, in Borger. She was a waitress at Johnson's Cafe and the Coney Island, where she retired. Survivors include her husband, Levi Bailey of the home; two sons, Levi C. Bailey III of Farmers Branch and Brent K. Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Feemster, pastor of New Covenant Baptist Church in Lampasas, the Rev. James McLeod, pastor, and the Rev. Dean Driver pastor of Samnorwood Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery by Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Carter was born Dec. 28, 1927, to Elmer Carter and Merle Bartlett Carter in the Houselog Community of Collingsworth County. A lifetime resident of the county, he attended school at Cross Roads and Wellington High School. He was a veteran, serving in the Army from March 1946 to September 1947. He married Norma Rose Kiepe on Sept. 1, 1951, in Wellington. In 1953, he moved to Samnorwood on the J.T. Slay farm, where he farmed for 27 years. In 1980, he was employed by R.J. Pasley Construction Company while continuing to farm his own land. Sam worked as a mechanic at Owens Salvage and worked for the city of Wellington for more than two years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Carter. Survivors include his wife, Norma Carter of Wellington; three sons, Ronald Carter of Lutie, Brad Carter of Shamrock and Tony Carter of Seagraves; four sisters, Bertha Mae Keller, Jane Maxwell, Kay Feemster, all of Wellington and Rachel Ligon of Memphis, Tenn.; and five grandchildren. Burial was in the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church Cemetery by Fidler-Orme Mortuary. Collin was born June 16, 1994, in Amarillo, the son of Byron S. and Patti Bender Isaac. He was a member of the Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church of rural Meade and was currently attending kindergarten in the Meade Public School system. Survivors include his parents; two brothers, Todd Isaac and Tyler Isaac, both of the home; two sisters, Melissa Isaac and Megan Isaac, both of the home; grandparents, Don and Irene Isaac of rural Meade, Larry and Gloria Bender of Balko, Okla.; and great-grandmother, Nellie Caffee of Liberal. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Coulter Road Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Payne and the Rev. Doug Dubose officiating. Interment will be at 3 p.m. at Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Payne was born June 23, 1913, in Polk County, Ark. She moved to Turkey when she was 12 years old. She has been a resident of Amarillo since 1944. She married Clarence Edward (Jack) Shannon in Hollis, Okla. He passed away in 1968. She married Carl Payne in 1974, and he passed away in 2000. Mrs. Payne was a retired florist in Amarillo, having worked for Buthker's, Zelman's and Boston Greenhouse. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church and their Tripple L Club. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita, an infant son, Jack Donald Shannon, and a great-grandson, Brian Jones. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Blackwell and husband, Gene, of Amarillo; her sister, Edith Cooper of Lockney; her grandchildren, Pam Roberson and husband, Scott, and their children, Derek and Joni, of Olton; Rick Blackwell and wife, Cindy, and their children, Chandler and Amelia, of Valencia, Calif.; and Jojuan Jones and her children, Brad and Holly, of Amarillo. He married Leona Kraft in 1934 in Shattuck, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1955 from Shattuck. The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Viewing at the funeral home will be from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m to 11 a.m. Wednesday. DAV Chapter #26 of Amarillo will conduct military honors. He was a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader in the mid-1960s. He was an Amarillo native and graduated from Caprock High School. He was self-employed as a contractor. He was a member of our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. The family will be at 1949 S. Manhattan. She worked as a volunteer with St. Anthony's Hospital Auxiliary and High Plains Baptist Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of First Baptist Church. She married Oarl M. Wilson in 1955. He died in 1988. She also was preceded in death by a child, Carol Lee Wilson, in 1963. Survivors include a son, Mickey Wilson of Amarillo; two daughters, Nancy Bullard and Pam Kuehne, both of Amarillo; a sister, Betty Lauderdale of Norman, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gililland was born Oct. 14, 1901, in Graham, the daughter of Dempsey and Henrietta Carr Davis. She moved from Texas to California in the 1930s and to Oregon in 1985. Survivors include two daughters, Betty DeVeney of Riggins, Idaho, and Bobby Copley of Baker; a sister, Quida Stewart of Cheyenne, Wyo.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
