Solis Sr. Santos R. Solis Sr., 67, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. today in N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Solis was born in Jourdanton and had been a resident of Amarillo for more than 50 years. He married Josie Mestas on June 30, 1961, in Amarillo. He worked for Merchant's Motor Freight for more than 27 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Mark's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Santos Solis Jr. and Mark Solis, both of Amarillo; two daughters, Michele Solis of Amarillo and Rhonda Solis of Weatherford; three sisters, Eluteria Ortiz, Anselma Bitela and Patsy Malacara, all of Amarillo; six brothers, Juan Solis of San Antonio, Eubenca Solis Jr., Sliberio Solis, Louis Solis and Librado Solis, all of Amarillo; eight grandsons; and five granddaughters. They would have celebrated their 20th anniversary on Nov. 30, 2001. He was a truck driver and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Survivors include his wife; five sisters, Esther, Minnie and Janie, all of Dimmitt, Rosa of Amarillo and Noelia of Harlingen; two brothers, Ricky and Donato Jr., both of Dimmitt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Private family burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. White was born in Oklahoma and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1944. He was the owner and operator of Charlie White Beef Co. of Amarillo for 32 years. He married Mary Belle White on Feb. 16, 1929, and they were married 65 years. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1993. Survivors include a son, James Monroe White and wife, Winona, of Amarillo; a daughter, Marlene L. Jones of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Larry King, David King, Kent King, Anita Harp, Doug White and Amy Gilbert; 10 great-grandchildren; and his faithful dog, Snuggles. John C. Denton, retired Baptist pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Earth Cemetery. Mr. Lumpkin married Tema Stanford on Aug. 23, 1941, in Muleshoe. He was a farmer in the Muleshoe area for 24 years before moving to Amarillo in 1966 to farm at Bushland. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Gee of Pampa; two sons, Larry Lumpkin of Battle Mountain, Nev., and Jerry Lumpkin of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Keith, pastor of First Christian Church in Paducah, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Chewning was born Sept. 6, 1915, in County to Robert Perlie Howard Chewning. He served his country during World War II in the Navy. He was a farmer and a resident of Cee Vee since 1927. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Roy Don Fox in 1972; two brothers; and two sisters. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Groom Methodist Church with the Rev. Weldon Rives, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Groom Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Campbell was born June 22, 1917, in Groom. She married Edward Campbell on June 22, 1938, in Groom. She received her nurse's training at Scott & White in Temple. She lived in Hale Center for 10 years and worked as a nurse for High Plains Hospital. She worked as a nurse for Dr. Witt in Groom. She moved to Denver in 1963 and to Dallas in 1979. She was a lifelong Methodist and a member of Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Campbell in 1976; a daughter, Kathryn Ruth Campbell in 1952; her parents, John and Effie Farley; and two brothers, Dan and Jack Farley. Survivors include a daughter, Carol McCarty of Alvin; three sons, Joe Ed Campbell of Castroville, Calif., John William Campbell of Bothell, Wash., and Kevin Robert Campbell of Alvin; a brother, Robert E. Mrs. Stubbs worked as a nurses' aide for several years in nursing homes in Buffalo and Fort Supply. She also worked at the Avery's Grocery Store in Gate. Survivors include two sisters, Thelma Bozarth of Laverne and Lorine Blosser of Gladstone, N.M.; a brother, Melvin Smith of Seiling; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Peter's Catholic Church at Guymon with Russell Hewes officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery of Guymon by Bunch-Roberts Funeral Home. Mr. Mojica had been a resident of Guymon for the past 20 years. He was employed with Val Inc. in Texhoma. Survivors include his wife, Marsha; three daughters, Maria Andrade and Susana Pena, both of El Paso, Texas, and Mirna Mojica of Juarez, Mexico; four stepchildren, Denton Bryant of Amarillo, Stacey Ortiz of Liberal, Kan., Angela Shirley of Guymon and Delores Mojica of El Paso; a brother, Jesus Elas Mojica of Juarez; and two sisters, Mariana Dominguez of Anthony, N.M., and Enriqueta Balderama of Chihuahua, Mexico. Hudson SAYRE, Okla. - Rick L. Hudson, 45, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Sayre First Baptist Church with Andy Taylor and Daryle Perry officiating. Burial will be in Sayre-Doxey Cemetery by Rose Chapel Funeral Service. Mr. Hudson was born Feb. 26, 1956, in Dallas to Kathryn and James Hudson. He moved with his parents to Marshall in 1970 where he graduated from high school in 1974. He graduated from the University of Texas with a bachelor's degree in management in 1978 before attending Sam Houston State in Huntsville, Texas, where he received his master's of science degree in agri-business in 1984. He was married to Janis Kay (Taylor) Hudson in Amarillo on Oct. 3, 1993. He began his corrections career in 1981 with the Texas Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. He worked up through the ranks at one medium and four maximum custody facilities in Texas. He last served in Texas as an assistant warden at the William P. Clements Jr. Facility in Amarillo. In January of 1996, he left the public sector and joined Corrections Corp. of America. He was an assistant warden at CCA'S Winnfield Louisiana and Cushing facilities before being appointed as warden of North Fork Correctional Facility at Sayre in August 1997. In summer 2000, he became an auditor for CCA. In November 2000, he became warden of the Torrance County Detention Facility in Estancia, N.M. He was an active member of the Sayre Rotary Club and was honored in 2001 as a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship. He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Survivors include his wife, Jan; three daughters, Kealan, Taylor and Emily; a son, Cooper; his parents, Jimmy and Kathryn Hudson of Sulphur Springs, Texas; a brother, Gary Hudson and wife, Jackie, of Caddo Mills, Texas; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Sue and Calvin Bradley, Pat Rea, Curt and Lorrie Taylor and Becky and Johnny Parker, all of Amarillo, Gary and Judy Taylor of Yorktown, Texas, and Jack and Barby Moran of Atlanta; and a host of relatives and friends.
