He had been a resident of Follett and the surrounding area most of his life. Mr. Donnell was born in Young County. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He married Pat Hutton in 1945 at Graham. She died in 1981. He married Frankie Duryee in 1982 at Spearman. She died in February. He helped start Spearman Little League and coached for several years. He was an active member of Spearman Chamber of Commerce and was named Citizen of the Year. He was a member of the Spearman Lion's Club and was a former Lion of the Year. He was an avid golfer and helped start the Hansford Club. He owned and operated Wardrobe Cleaners for more than 40 years. He farmed at Old Hansford. He was preceded in death by grandson, Carl Lauersdorf, in July. She had been a bookkeeper in the banking business, having worked for the First National Bank in Artesia for many years. She worked in banking for more than 40 years, retiring in 1989 in Amarillo. She was a loving and caring mother and enjoyed her family. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Artesia. Mr. Halsted was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Arvilla Halsted; and a brother, Robert Halsted. She was a resident of Amarillo since 1924. She married Wallace Leachman on Oct. 3, 1933, in Hereford. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Leachman was a member and past church secretary at Polk Street United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women, Co-workers Sunday school class and Board of Stewards. She was Federated Club's Woman of the Year and a member of T.E.D. Club and Federated Home Arts Club. Mrs. Leachman also was a member of Texas Zeta Chapter of Phi Sigma Alpha and the Amarillo Senior Citizens Association. She and her husband operated Donaldson Electric for many years from their home at 1210 N. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church since 1946 and belonged to the Business and Professional Women's Sunday school class. She was preceded in death by a son, Jan Hardin Deahl in 1967, a grandchild, and 15 brothers and sisters. He died in 1950. She married Jack Mork in 1963. He died in 1990. She was a seamstress all her life and sewed up until a few days before her death. She was preceded in death by five children; Irvine Broughton in 1933, Lavonia Nelson in 1973, Doris Heath in 1991, Christine Strebeck in 1996, and Otis Broughton in 2000. Survivors include nine grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
