Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Bill Fitzgerald, pastor of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, officiating. Entombment will be in North Mausoleum at Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Pulley married Brenda Janet Lewis on June 1, 1955, at Buchanan Street United Methodist Church parsonage at Amarillo. He was born Sept. 25, 1935, to Walter Harrison Pulley and Nellie Jordan Pulley. He graduated from Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala., in 1953. On Aug. 1, 1955, he joined the Air Force and received basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He received training as a heating specialist while stationed in Cheyenne, Wyo., and later was assigned to serve in Okinawa. His final assignment was at Amarillo Air Force Base. He received the Good Conduct medal and was honorably discharged in September 1959. Mr. Pulley was a Boy Scout troop leader for his son's troop and earned the Arrowhead Award. He worked as a mail handler for the Postal Service in Amarillo for 30 years. Survivors include his wife; a son, Otis Henry Pulley of Amarillo; three daughters, Londa Cox of Paris, Marie Darnall of Amarillo and Deborah Hafernick of Friendswood; two brothers, J.W. Pulley of Mobile and Leonard Odom of Chickasaw, Ala.; a sister, Mary Parahlee Odom Usher of Wilmer, Ala.; and four granddaughters, Suzan Cox and Cymantha Cox, both of Paris, and Britanny Darnall and Courtney Rogers, both of Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Harrell Funeral Home Chapel at Elkhart, Kan., with the Rev. Dewey Harris, pastor of First Baptist Church at Elkhart, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Stiggins was born in Sterling, Kan. He lived in Elkhart from the early 1920s to 1940. In 1932, he graduated from Elkhart High School. From 1940 to 1978, he worked as a parts and service manager for various automobile dealerships in Oklahoma, Texas and New Mexico. From 1978 to 1982, he worked for Phillips Petroleum in Borger before retiring in October 1982. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the American Legion for more than 56 years. He was a member of Coulter Baptist Church and Kiowa Post No. 635 in Darrouzett. His first wife, Katherine Smith Stiggins, died in 1988. He married Donatti McCoy Miller on July 20, 1990, at Yoakum. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Dirk and wife Susan of Bellaire, Mark and wife Peggy of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Luke and wife Nora of Roswell, N.M.; a stepson, Dennis Miller and wife Marla of Midland; a brother, Kenneth Stiggins of Eugene, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Busch on April 16, 1933. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St., with the Rev. Claud Tugwell, retired Baptist pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Tabor was a lifetime resident of Amarillo. He was a retired truck driver. He was born Dec. 26, 1932, in Conway to Robert B. and Belle Tipton Tabor. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he married Dorothy Shackleford on Feb. 8, 1957, in Amarillo. His son, Ralph C. Tabor Jr., preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert "Bobby" and wife Jennifer Tabor of Amarillo and their children, Christopher, Jason and Cody; a daughter, Eva "Curly" and husband Zac Brown of Borger and their children, Ryan and Ashleigh; and two sisters, Alene Oberholt of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Bessie Causey of Yakima, Wash. Amarillo Globe-News June 24, 2001 Zatha May Johannesen Zatha May Slack Johannesen, 91, of Amarillo, died Sunday, June 3, 2001. A memorial service was held in Amarillo. Burial will be in Minden, Neb. Mrs. Johannesen, daughter of Johnson D. and Bertha A. (Ramick) Slack, was born in Minden, Neb., in 1909. She graduated from Minden High School in 1927. She was employed by Minden Exchange National Bank until her marriage in 1934 to Edward W. Johannesen. They farmed outside Clay Center, Neb., where Ed was also the assistant county agent. At the start of World War II, Ed was employed by the Farm Security Administration and the family lived in Bridgeport, Neb., Lincoln, Neb., and Cincinnati. In 1945, they moved to North Platte, Neb. The Johannesenes joined the First Presbyterian Church, where Zatha was active until she moved to Amarillo in 1995 to live near her son Bob. In addition to her church activities, Zatha was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Signet Chapter No. 55 and the BPOE. She was a supporter of the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Nebraska Boys Ranch and the Nebraska Democrat Party. Survivors include three children, Bob Johannesen of Amarillo; Shirley Levine of Columbia, Md., and Jane Patterson of Detroit; a brother, Reese N. Slack of Minden; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Oglesby was born May 30, 1916, at Lincoln, Neb. She was a longtime member of Arts Unlimited. Her husband, Eugene Oglesby, preceded her in death. Osage St. Mr. Seymour was an Amarillo firefighter for 32 years. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church for 20 years. He was born May 24, 1924, at Sulphur Springs. After graduating from Estelline High School, he attended West Texas State University. He served with the Second Marine Division in the Pacific during World War II. He worked at Pantex as a firefighter and retired in 1988 after 35 years. He married Virginia Hamrick on Feb. 11, 1948, at Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary Zint of Amarillo; a daughter, Debbie Snyder of Amarillo; two sisters, Janie Mabry of Amarillo and Virginia Lambert of Lakeview; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Hawkins was born in McGregor. She married William Raymond Hawkins on Aug. 8, 1925, at Hereford. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961 and a son, Milton Floyd Hawkins in 1931. Survivors include five nephews, Wallace R. Downs, Carlton Boyd Downs, Douglas Ray Downs, all of Borger, Leonard Smith of Orange and William Harris of Lawrence, Kan.; and a niece, Treva Rhae Hester of Hereford.
