Services will be at 2 p.m. today in the 13th and Jefferson Church of Christ at Perryton with Mikel Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree County Cemetery of Perryton by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Perryton. Mr. Hill was born in Montague County. He married Marie Smith on March 15, 1938, in Raton, N.M. He worked for various John Deere Dealerships as a mechanic for 40 years. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Phyllis Bailey of Perryton and Iris Farr of Silver City, N.M.; a sister, Elizabeth Mahaney of Wolf City; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Caro Beth Wells SHAMROCK - Caro Beth Wells, 94, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church of Shamrock with the Rev. Jack Lee, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Wells was born on Aug. 10, 1907, in Comanche County. She married Floyd Arthur Wells on April 15, 1932, in Collingsworth County. She was a schoolteacher in several rural schools in Collingsworth County. She also taught at Kellerville, Lela and Shamrock, from which she retired. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Shamrock. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. The family suggests memorials be to the First Baptist Church. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Bynum Black Stroud BORGER - Bynum Black Stroud, 85, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of Christ at Borger with Gary Bodine officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Stroud was a member of the Church of Christ in Borger and was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force. Survivors include a son, Mike Stroud of Amarillo; three sisters, Vida Henley of Benton, Ark., Essie Brown of Jerusalem, Ark., and Orba Lee Santini of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs. Noviello was born in Childress on Oct. 13, 1921, to Cornelius Matthew Toler and Minnie Beachamp Toler. She was a retired cook and waitress. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Noviello on April 19, 1955; and six siblings, J.W. Toler, Audry Craig, C.E. Toler, Horace Toler, Calvin Toler and Neal Toler. Survivors include three daughters, Billie Bernice Harp of Kenton, Ohio, Beverly Ann Negri of Dallas and Antonina Barnes of Amarillo; and two sons, Butch Amos of Amarillo and Michael Charles Amos of Canyon. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Pearl Elizabeth Ridgeway Pearl Elizabeth Ridgeway, 76, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Ridgeway was born Sept. 1, 1925, in San Antonio. She and her husband, Grover Ridgeway, and their daughter, Dianne, moved to Amarillo in 1956. She was a homemaker and an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She was a servant of the Lord all of her life. She drove the St. Mary's high school girls' basketball team to games in the Panhandle. She worked on fund-raisers for the church and did volunteer work at the Saint Anthony's Hospital gift shop for many years. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Mary Ridgeway, in 1945. Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Bosch of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Kaizen of Corpus Christi; two brothers, James Head of Dallas and Monroe Head of Pasadena, Texas; five grandchildren, James Vidrine of San Antonio, Melissa DaPrato of Kinder, La., Tod Vidrine of Santa Rosa, Calif., and Amy Foard and Jennifer Bosch, both of Amarillo; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Opal Rogers Opal Rogers, 93, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001. Services will be at noon Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Slaton with the Rev. Tracy J. Ward, of Trinity Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Burial will be in Englewood Cemetery of Slaton by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Rogers was born in Menard County on Oct. 18, 1907. Her family moved to Slaton in 1957. She was a longtime, active member of First Baptist Church in Slaton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Schooler of Dimmitt in 1944; and her second husband, Lois F. Rogers of Slaton in 1976. Survivors include two daughters, Jo Peters of Albuquerque, N.M., and Robbie Ward of Amarillo; three nieces; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The family will be at 3411 Amherst Drive. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Paul M. Inglis Paul M. Inglis, 91, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Amarillo First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. K. Ray McDowell, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery East by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Home, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Inglis was born in Bonham on July 30, 1910, and moved to Amarillo more than 50 years ago. He was employed by Furr Foods for 25 years. He was a longtime member of First Church of the Nazarene where he taught Sunday school and was known by all as the "gum-man." He was an ordained minister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Mae Inglis. Survivors include a daughter, Pat Parker of Amarillo; a stepson, Allen Wheatley and his wife, Kaye, of Irving; two stepdaughters, Betty Allison and her husband, Paul, of Amarillo and Patricia Sherman of Canada; a sister, Winniebell Kennly of San Antonio; many grandchildren including Cyndi McKay of Canyon who was dearest of all to him; and a host of caring friends. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Olton Cemetery. Mrs. Mannin was born and raised in Olton. She married Victor Mannin in 1977 in Plainview. She was a secretary at Canyon Junior High School and was a member of Southwest Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Victoria Mannin of Amarillo and Nancy Tucker of Charlotte, N.C.; three sons, Roland Mannin of Amarillo, Jeff Hall of Odessa and Galen Mannin of Plainview; her mother, Dorothy Holt of Olton; two brothers, Todd Holt of Austin and Steve Holt of Joshua; a sister, Jennifer Daughtery of Silverton; 12 grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. The family suggests memorials be to the American Cancer Society. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept. 24, 2001 Elsewhere Robert P. Laycock MARBLE FALLS - Robert P. Laycock, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001. Services were at 10 a.m. Friday in First United Methodist Church of Marble Falls. Burial was at 2 p.m. Saturday in Shamrock Cemetery by Edgar Funeral Home. Mr. Laycock was born July 17, 1921, in Abra to Wayne and Lillie Laycock. He served in the Navy during World War II. When he returned from service, he married Helen Palmer on June 3, 1948. They were married for 53 years. He was the past mayor of Shamrock and was active in the booster club and many other civic groups throughout his life. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Helen; a son, R. Lynn Laycock of Marble Falls; a daughter-in-law, Amy Laycock of Marble Falls; three brothers, Dr. Kenneth Laycock of Canyon, Dr. Raymond Laycock of Pampa and Dr. Royce Laycock of Dallas; and two grandchildren, Emily Laycock and Sarah Laycock, both of Marble Falls. Amarillo Globe-News, Sept, 24, 2001 Frances Morris Frances Morris, 78, of Amarillo, formerly of Arlington, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Dana Moore officiating. Private graveside services will be in Childress Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Morris was born in Kirkland. She worked for several years in Childress as a cosmetologist. She moved to Amarillo in 1951. She worked at the Lady Fair Salon for three years prior to owning her own salon, Frances Beauty Salon, from 1955 to 1996. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and Dorcas Sunday school class. She participated in the church choir and loved to sing Gospel music. She married J.L. Morris on Oct. 20, 1984, in Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Survivors include her husband, J.L. Morris; a son, Roy W. Honeycutt and his wife, Shirley, of Decatur; a sister, Nita Clements of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Jeff Honeycutt of Decatur and Tonja Hartman and her husband, Greg, of Plano; four great-grandchildren, Nichole Honeycutt, Cody Moore, Chase Honeycutt and Brennen Moore; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of Farwell with the Rev. Richard Laverty, pastor, the Rev. Jimmy McGuire, of Lubbock and the Rev. Cecil Golden of Plainview officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Terrace Cemetery at Farwell by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home. Mr. Donaldson was a farmer and had been a resident of the Oklahoma Lane community in Parmer County since 1930. He attended schools in Whiteflat and Oklahoma Lane. He married Dorothy Harman on June 7, 1939, in Clovis, N.M. He was a charter member of Oklahoma Lane Baptist Church which later merged with First Baptist Church of Farwell where he served as deacon. Pallbearers are Joe Donaldson, Jayson Donaldson, Jeffrey Decker, Clay Julian, Wade Julian, Rick Klingensmith, Shayne White, Edward Heinze, Marcus Sullivan and Britt Sipe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Pearl Donaldson; two brothers, Onnie and W.M. Donaldson; six sisters, Maybelle Edwards, Tressie Sparks, Margaret Terry, Ruby Tucker, Gladys Hromas and Louise Christian; and a granddaughter, Julie Decker. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Roy Donaldson of Paducah and Larry Donaldson of Anna; three daughters, Jolene Julian of Perryton, Dorris White of Farwell and Zelda Ellison of Lockney; four sisters, Beulah McWilliams of Farwell, Amy Hromas of Bovina, Avis Carpenter of Oklahoma Lane and Ruth Boone of Clovis; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
