Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in Lemons Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Ronald Huckeby, lay minister from Plainview, officiating. Burial was in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Huffine moved to Dumas in 1948, to Plainview in 1996 and to Amarillo in 1999. She was a child-care provider and homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Chester Harvey Huffine; a daughter, Sondra Long of Amarillo; a brother, Jimmy "Sonny" Luman of Amarillo; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. Mr. Baum was born May 30, 1949, in Norman, Okla., the son of Robert and Mary Baum. He was the general sales manager of Valmont Industries in San Antonio. Survivors include his wife, Julie Baum; a son, Shayne Fellhauer of Lubbock, a stepson, Tim Garwick of San Antonio; his father, Robert Baum of Hereford; a brother, Brian Baum of Worland, Wyo.; a sister, Glenda Jesko of Hereford; and a stepsister, Rose Mary Morgan of Hereford. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Lamb Funeral Home. Mr. Tate had lived in the McLean area for 58 years. He attended Heald Methodist Church. Mrs. Scott was a member of First United Methodist Church and volunteered for the Hospital Auxiliary. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 101 and the Burlington Club. He served with the Navy during World War II. Mr. Coffee was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of First Christian Church. Mr. Coffee married Mary Miller in 1962 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a brother, Virgil Coffee. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Carol Smith of Amarillo and Sharon Summers of Littleton, Colo.; stepchildren, Marion Brown of Las Cruces, N.M., John Sears of Amarillo and Katy Klepper of Naperville, Ill.; a sister, Carrie Keaster of Anacortes, Wash.; a brother, Earl Coffee of Phoenix; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Amarillo. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Alice Phillips Harrison of Amarillo; two brothers, Ray Pittman and Billy Mac Pittman, both of Amarillo; two sisters, Jewell Wood or Riverside, Calif., and Christine Bain of Amarillo. Osage St. Mr. Simmons was born in Strawn. He moved to Amarillo more than 50 years ago from Channing. He served in the Army and the Air Force and was a veteran of World War II and the Korea War. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a construction contractor. Mr. Simmons married Mary Alice Madera in 1947 at Amarillo. She preceded him in death in 1965. He married Gail Gifford in 1966. She preceded him in death in 1999. Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl Ann Rowley and Susy Montgomery, both of Amarillo, and Judy Gayle of Garland; three sons, James Allen Simmons of Boerne and Thomas Earl Simmons and Robert David Simmons, both of Amarillo; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Killion was born in Ennis on March 1, 1913. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. "Speck" Killion, in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Larry Dale Killion and wife, M'Liz of Houston and Galen Brent Killion and wife, Lanell, of Amarillo; a daughter, Charla Killion Hakimi of Amarillo; and five grandchildren, Heidi Hakimi and Andrew, Anne, Kyna and Christopher Killion; two nieces and their families, Lesley Carr of Amarillo and Betty Loter of Ben Wheeler; and Virginia's extended family of staff and residents of Park Central / Ware Memorial Care Center. Mr. Rierson had worked for Curry County as a maintainer operator after retiring from farming. He was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen Rierson of the home; a son, Jessie Herman Rierson of Corsicana, Texas; five daughters, Maurine Thomas and Joyce Hughes, both of Clovis, Anita Cain of Conchas Dam, Carolyn Lake of Port Townsend, Wash., and Barbara Beal of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters, Ada Fitzgerald of Clovis and Nora Belle Darnell of Burbank, Wash.; 28 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Mrs. France had previously worked at the Curry County Juvenile and Adult Detention Centers as a detention officer. Arrangements are by Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona, Texas. Mr. Glover was a retired farmer. A Curry County resident for most of his life, he had lived in Clovis for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by a son, Alfred Glover; and by a daughter, Sandra Webber. Survivors include two sons, Boyce Glover of Friona and Gail Dean Glover of Las Vegas, Nev.; three daughters, Glenda Harris of Las Vegas, Nev., Karen Arnold of Sacramento, Calif., and Violet White of Sammamish, Wash.; 37 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Hamrick moved from Amarillo to White Oak 21 years ago. She was married to Leonard Marshall Hamrick. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Joe Hamrick of Houston; a daughter, Sherry Skaggs of White Oak; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, May 25, 2001 Charles H. Gifford Sr. PEORIA, Ariz. - Charles H. Gifford Sr., 87, died Sunday, May 20, 2001. Services were held Thursday at Faith Presbyterian Church in Sun City. Burial was at Sunland Memorial Park by Menke Funeral Home of Sun City. Mr. Gifford was born on Feb. 10, 1914, in Artesia, N.M. He married Nola Baker Feb. 17, 1939, in Amarillo, where they raised their two children. He worked for the Borden Company for 43 years. Upon retirement in 1978, he and Nola moved to Peoria. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Lease; a son, Charles H. Gifford Jr.; grandchildren Tracy Lease, Natalia, Casey, Kaitlin, Kelly and Charley Gifford; and a great-grandson, Colin Snow-Lease.
