Murphy CHILDRESS - R.J. Murphy, 70, died Sunday, June 24, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Crabtree of Grace Fellowship Church officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Murphy married the former Maxine Sims on Aug. 15, 1948, in Childress. He was a heavy-equipment operator and owned and operated Murphy's R.V. Park in Childress. Survivors include his wife; a son, Danny Murphy of Childress; two daughters, Rebecca Petty of Childress and Jo Shirley of Coppell; four sisters, Manona Coble, Ella Daniel and Pauline Lambert, all of Lubbock and Willie Matney of Paducah; three brothers, Darrell Murphy, Jerry Murphy and Norman Murphy, all of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 26, 2001 Pat Wesley TULIA - Pat Wesley, 63, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Central Church of Christ with Trey Morgan, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Wesley was born March 17, 1938, in Eloy, Ariz. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 1957. She was the district and county clerk for 12 years in Swisher County. Mrs. Wesley married Lonnie James Wesley on July 8, 1956, in Canyon. He died March 27, 1979, in Amarillo. Survivors include four sons, Dale Wesley and Chris Wesley, both of Amarillo, Eldon Wesley of Canyon and Steve Wesley of Paducah; her mother, Juanita Rice of Tulia; three brothers, Bob Rice and Keith Rice, both of Russellville, Ala., and Denny Ray Rice of Spokane, Wash.; and 10 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, June 26, 2001 Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Casida BORGER - Elizabeth Ann Casida, 44, died Sunday, June 24, 2001, in Amarillo. Private services will be held at Westlawn Cemetery in Borger with Monsignor Norbert Keuhler of St. John's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mrs. Casida was born July 7, 1956, in North Plains Hospital of Borger. She was a lifetime member of St. John's Catholic Church. Elizabeth "Liz" was a 1974 Borger High School honor graduate. She received her master's degree in library science from Texas Women's University in Denton, where she was a member of Alpha Sigma Kappa, an academic sorority. After graduating Liz was a research librarian for West Texas State University in Canyon. Since 1996, she was employed as an assistant director of the Texas Tech Science Library and a reference librarian in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Casida Sr., in 1980; and by her father, Jack C. Wiggs Sr., in 1987. Survivors include two sons, David Casida Jr. of Canyon and Chad Casida of Borger; her mother, Erminia Wiggs of Borger; two brothers, Jerry Scott of Dumas and Jack Wiggs Jr. of Shallowater; six sisters, Mara Moseley of Bandera, Theresa Martin of Hobart, Okla., Joan Sibley, Cathy Turner and Diana Mathews, all of Amarillo and Rosemary Walden of Borger; seven nieces; eight nephews; six great-nieces and three great-nephews. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Mrs. Johnson was born in Amarillo. She was a 1952 graduate of Amarillo High School. She married James Johnson on Jan. 28, 1953, in Amarillo. Mrs. Johnson was retired from Bob Blair Transport Inc., having worked as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi, and held all offices in the chapter. She was the corresponding secretary for City Council of B.S.P. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kim Livingston of San Marcos and Gemma Mitchell of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. "Charlie" Hinton C.H. "Charlie" Hinton, 96, of Amarillo, died Saturday, June 23, 2001, in The Woodlands. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Llano Cemetery with Monsignor Francis A. Smyer of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Hinton was born in Shelby County, Ill., on March 1, 1905. He married Berniece Francoise Bissonette on Feb. 18, 1928, in Kankakee, Ill. He was raised on a farm and attended grade school and high school in a one- room school house. He studied engineering at the University of Illinois and went on to a career in the petroleum industry where he was recognized as an expert on production and reserve. He moved to Amarillo in 1945 but left to serve as vice president of Production for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company. He left Panhandle in 1955 and returned to Amarillo where he formed Consulting Services and spent the next 35 years as a consultant to major oil and gas companies. Over his 50-plus years in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Hinton appeared as a witness before numerous state regulatory commissions, state and federal courts, the U.S. Tax Court, The U.S. Court of Claims, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission and the National Canadian Energy Board. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, The American Petroleum Institute, The Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Texas Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association and the Panhandle Geological Society. Mr. Hinton also was very instrumental in establishing the Helium Monument. He was proud to be a resident of Amarillo for 50 years and a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Jayne Hinton Gross and husband, Jerry, of the Woodlands; three sons, Boyd Hinton and wife, Maelyn, of Corpus Christi, Peter Hinton and wife, Mary, of Berkeley, Calif., and Mike Hinton and wife, Carolyn of Kingwood; a sister, Jayne McHenry, born in 1900, of Harlingen; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 26, 2001 Norbert Luis St. Dizier Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Schooler Funeral Home, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with the Rev. Bill Wade of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. St. Dizier was born April 9, 1923, in Enid, Okla., the son of Norbert L. and Harriette Thompson St. Dizier. He moved at the age of 2 to Rush Springs, Okla., where he attended school. He was active in sports and Scouting. He was privileged in 1937 to attend the first Boy Scout Jamboree, in Washington, D.C. Upon graduation from high school he attended Oklahoma University before enlisting in the Navy during World War II. After his discharge he worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Rush Springs and served as the leader of a Boy Scout troop. He was associated with various phases of the transportation industry for 42 years. He had worked for the Rock Island Railroad in Chickasha, Okla., Duncan, Okla., Dallas, and El Reno, Okla. He also had worked with the Department of Defense at Tinker Air Force Base in Midwest City, Okla. In 1956, Mr. St. Dizier moved to Amarillo as an employee of Shamrock Oil and Gas Co. In 1983, after 27 years he retired as transportation manager for Diamond Shamrock Corp. Later he was associated with Coldwell Bankers, First Equity Realtor. He was a 32nd Degree Mason in the Scottish Rite Consistory of Lubbock and a 54-year Master Mason in Rush Springs Masonic Lodge No. 7 AF&AM. He accepted Christ in his life in 1947 and became a member of First Christian Church in Chickasha. At the time of his death he had been a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church since 1967. Mr. St. Dizier married Betty Errol McCormick on Aug. 23, 1947, in Altus, Okla. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Rodney Irl St. Dizier; and a niece, Celeste Lee St. Dizier. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debby Mullican and her husband, Lloyd, of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Stacy Dixon and her husband, Darrell, of Midland; a great-granddaughter, Kylee Dixon of Midland; a great-grandson, Tucker Dixon of Midland; a niece, Cheryl Gleichmann of Piedmont, Okla.; a nephew, Rodney St. Dizier of Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law, Catherine St. Dizier of Oklahoma City and Gladys O'Neil of Altus; and many other relatives and friends. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and will always be remembered for the many kind things he did for others. He had lived in Oklahoma City the past 10 years. Mike Smith, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Mooreland, assisting. Burial will be in Lions Memorial Park in Elmhurst Cemetery at Guymon by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mr. Wright was born June 21, 1960, in Oklahoma City, the son of Bryan L. and Mary Elizabeth Wright. He was employed as a computer electronics technician and recently had received his degree in computer networking. Survivors include his wife, Renee Wright of Amarillo; two sons, Auston Lee Wright and Tucker Aaron Wright, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Lindsey Elizabeth Wright of Dallas; one stepdaughter, Summer Wright of Amarillo; his father, Bryan L. Wright Sr., of Guymon; a sister, Stephanie Hughes of Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Robert Christopher Wright of Guymon ad William Gregory Wright of Kansas City; paternal grandmother, Hazel Wright of Guymon; maternal grandfather, Bob Lee of Tulsa, Okla.; and one granddaughter.
