Private family services were held Friday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Phil Mercado, associate pastor of Trinity Fellowship Church, officiating. Christian was born in Amarillo. Survivors include his parents; and grandparents, Gene Heath and Jesse Barrientez, both of Amarillo, and Paulette Jones of Boerne and Gracie Roberts of Maryland. Amarillo Globe-News, May 26, 2001 Martha Irene Smith Martha Irene Parkhurst Smith, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 24, 2001. No services are scheduled at this time. Viewing will be from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Smith was born in Panama City, Fla. She moved to Amarillo in 1964 from Florida. She owned and operated Irene's Pet Shop for more than 20 years. She was the past president of the Federation of Texas Aquarium Society. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Baker of Panama City; a son, Earl Burlingame of Lethridge, Alberta, Canada; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, May 26, 2001 Ferrol Annita Burkhalter SHAMROCK - Ferrol Annita Burkhalter, 87, died Wednesday, May 23, 2001. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Westman, pastor, and Joe G. Jernigan officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors. Mrs. Burkhalter moved to Shamrock in 1932 from Plainview, Okla. She and her husband owned and operated Jay's Grill for many years. Survivors include three daughters, Coralene Henderson of Clifton, Colo., Jaye Nell Schlegel of Shamrock and Marilyn Jo Simpson of Quail; a son, Donald Wayne Burkhalter of Plano; four sisters, Dot Bowden of Louisiana, Fern McCaden of Erick, Okla., Mildred Smith of Amarillo and Ruby Gowdy of California; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. The family suggests memorials be to First United Methodist Church youth fund, Shamrock, Texas. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors, Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Fines Marchman, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Fulton worked for Ideal Foods as a cashier for 17 years, retiring in 1979. She married Red Fulton on Jan. 16, 1978, in Pampa. Survivors include her husband; two daughters Terisa Ann Taylor of Tyler and Brenda Avon Williams of Kingston, Tenn.; two stepsons, Francis R. Fulton, Jr. of Roswell, N.M., and Fredrick M. Fulton of Lufkin; a stepdaughter, Eldora L. Russ of Pueblo, Colo.; two sisters, Lela Beasley of Jasper and Naida Green of Liberty, Mo.; a brother, William E. Norris of Pampa; and 12 grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Mount Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tony Horsley officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery by Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home. Mrs. Giger was born on Sept. 1, 1919, in Morrison, Okla., to Albert Pierce Clark and Sara Myrtle (Jones) Clark. She married O.P. "Joby" Giger on March 3, 1938, in Shawnee, Okla. Survivors include a daughter, Katherine Merylene Wentworth of Geuda Springs; a sister, Elnora Sappington of Morrison, Okla.; a brother, Edgar Jack Clark of Ponca City, Okla.; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Mount Hope United Methodist Church; or the National Parkinson Foundation. Memorials will be accepted by the funeral home. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Plains Sanctuary Mausoleum with the Rev. Roy Steward officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Steed-Todd Funeral Home. Mrs. Addington married R. Ben Addington on April 22, 1957, in Nevada. She and her husband, Ben, were the original proprietors of Plains Packing Company. Survivors include three sons, Tommy Fulgham of Glendale, Ariz., Leroy Fulgham of Phoenix and Eddie Carole Fulgham of Yakima, Wash.; a daughter, Maxine Odom of St. Vrain; a stepdaughter, Doris Bunsen of El Paso, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorials be to Plains Regional Medical Center Home Heath and Hospice Care; or the American Cancer Society.
