Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Booker Friends Church with the Rev. David "Butch" Hearon and Cecil Burch officiating. Burial will be in the Heart Cemetery by Good Samaritan Funeral Service of Booker. Mr. Burch married Fern Slovacek in Beaver, Okla., on April 22, 1950. He and his wife celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their children in California. Survivors include his wife; a son, Coy Lee Burch of Reseda, Calif.; a daughter, Kathy Scott of Sylmar, Calif.; three brothers, Troy Burch of Dallas, Ray Burch of Amarillo and Roy Burch of Woodland Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Tommy Sims, pastor of Trinity Fellowship, officiating. Burial will be in Carey Cemetery at Carey by Johnson Funeral Home of Childress. Mr. Thomas was born May 3, 1945, in Kirkland, the son of O.E. "Slim" and Roxie "Dutch" Simpson Webb. He married Glenda Webster on Nov. 29, 1975, in Childress. He was a highway construction worker. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was preceded in death by a brother, Max Webb. Survivors include his wife; a son, Marc Frost of Childress; three daughters, Angela Webb and Aimee Webb, both of Childress and Roxie Neal of Keller; a sister, Lavon Crabtree of Kirkland; four brothers, Eldon Webb, Otho Webb and Ralph Webb, all of Lubbock and Travis Webb of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Joey Webster and his wife, Gloria, of Childress; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Brickman was a retired public school teacher. She grew up in Ames, Okla., and graduated from Southwestern University in 1976. "Don" Cummins, 69, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors rendered by Disabled American Veterans Post No. 26. He served as deacon of his church for several years. He retired from Pantex after 25 years of service as a building maintenance supervisor. Mr. Cummins married Bobbie Castleman Nov. 27, 1954, in Tucumcari, N.M. He was a member of North Amarillo Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Debra C. Amarillo Globe-News, Aug. 28, 2001 Elsewhere Mary Charlotte Mathers MILES CITY, Mont. - Mary "Charlotte" Word Mathers, 79, died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Custer County Cemetery by Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home of Miles City. Charlotte was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Amarillo, the daughter of Charlotte Ingham and Millard Word. Charlotte received college degrees from Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. She taught English in Canadian, Texas, where she met her husband, Bill Mathers. They were married on the SJ Ranch near Clarendon, Texas on June 16, 1946. They ranched near Canadian until the summer of 1951, when they moved to Miles City to establish the Mathers Brothers Ranch with Frank and Betty Mathers. Charlotte enjoyed a wide range of activities. She was an elder and deacon in the First Presbyterian Church in Miles City. She also was a member of Presbyterian Women, Deborah Circle, and a Sunday school teacher and director of the Sunshine Choir for children. Charlotte led Brownie Girl Scout Troops for all five of her daughters. She was a member of P.E.O. Sisterhood, Chapter No. K and Republican Women. She also was affiliated with Montana Cowbelles and served as president of the Legislative Wives and volunteered in various civic efforts including the Custer County Art Center, the Community Concert Series and the Holy Rosary Hospital Charity Balls. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Bob Word and Millard Word. Survivors include her husband, William L. Mathers; five daughters, Margaret Novak and Mike of Chester, Sharon Secor and Gary of Fargo, N.D., Barbara Mathers-Schmidt and Bob of Bellingham, Wash., Libby Gardner and Marshall of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mimi Meredith and Greg of Phoenix; 13 grandchildren, Bill and Andrea Novak, Jennifer, Laura and Emily Secor and Molly Secor Turner and Ryan, and Jonathan and Michael Schmidt, Erin and Kelly Gardner and William, Patrick and Mary Charlotte Meredith. Burial will be in Baptist Ford Cemetery. Mrs. Pope was born Aug. 17, 1914, at Leslie, the daughter of James Cleburn and Vinnie Watts Cates. She was a minister's wife and member of Northeast United Pentecostal Church in Fayetteville. Survivors include two sons, James Pope of Amarillo and Ralph Pope of Coushatta, La.; two daughters, Geraldine Baughman of Fayetteville and Shirley Crosson of Garland, Texas; a brother, J.C.
