King MULESHOE - J.R. King, 76, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Lubbock. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. George Malis, of Clovis, N.M., officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery by Ellis Funeral Home. Mr. King had lived in Muleshoe for the past 60 years. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Muleshoe. Survivors include four sons, James King of Idalou, Kenneth King of Muleshoe, Gary King of Springfield, Mo., and Rick King of Plainview; a brother, Doyle King of Muleshoe; and four grandchildren. Miss Peret worked at City National Bank for many years as a head teller and director, retiring in 1976. She attended Wayland Baptist University. Survivors include a niece, Janis Grahm of Fort Worth; a nephew, Ronnie Peret of League City; three great-nieces; two great-nephews; and three great-great-nieces. Francisco Perez, parochial vicar, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Silva had been a resident of Pampa since 1978. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, Jose Silva, Raul Silva and Carlos Silva, all of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 28, 2001 Lawrence Rochelle PAMPA - Lawrence "Shorty" Rochelle, 78, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Amarillo. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles Lowry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery at Wheeler by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Rochelle was born March 13, 1923, in Sallisaw, Okla. He joined the Army Air Corps and fought at Normandy (D-Day) during World War II. Discharged in 1946, Shorty moved to Pampa and began working at Northern Natural Gas on April 27, 1949, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and a charter member of The Carpenter's Church. He was an avid raccoon hunter and also nicknamed "Cooney". Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Lois Rochelle; two daughters, Ina Rochelle Smith of Claude and Janiece Bowers of Pampa; a granddaughter, Desirae Rochelle of the home; two sons, Bobby McCain of Wheeler and Danny McCain of Fort Worth; a sister, Jean Ellis of Wichita, Kan.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Fite Mills, 74, died Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Norman Rushing, of First Baptist Church of Childress, and Charley Wasson officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery. Ms. Mills was born Dec. 5, 1926, at Wellington, the daughter of Edgar V. and Leatha Fite. She retired as executive secretary from Plains Cooperative Oil Mill in 1992. Arrangements are by Memphis Funeral Home. Mr. McMillan was a farmer. He had lived in Memphis prior to moving to Amarillo four years ago. Survivors include five daughters, Vita Sturges, Mary Hook, Patricia Brumbalow and MaDonna Brandes, all of Amarillo, and Kathy Wilks of Memphis; a son, Timothy McMillan of Hedley; two brothers; two sisters; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Ward was born in Collingsworth County and raised in Memphis. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1931. Mrs. Ward had been a resident of Memphis for most of her life. She married Lloyd "Red" Ward on Oct. 15, 1939, in Memphis. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Memphis. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jone Ward Ponder of Memphis; a sister, Tommye Frank Spence of Concan; and two granddaughters, Shannon and Brad Follis of San Marcos and Chrysta and John Mark Ferrel of Memphis; and a great-grandson, Kix Ferrel of Memphis. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Lummus lived in Amarillo since 1964. She was a homemaker and provider for her children. She was preceded in death by a son, Roger Lummus in June of 2000. Survivors include two sons, Robert Dale Lummus of Candler, N.C., and Ray Gene Lummus of Swannanoa, N.C.; a brother, J.W. Taylor of Bowie; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at noon Monday in The Chapel with Bishop W. Charles Green officiating. Burial will be in Mission Garden of Memories by Muffley Funeral Home. Mrs. Jaramillo lived in Clovis most all her life. She taught kindergarten for Clovis Municipal Schools for five years. Survivors include her husband, Alfonso Jaramillo of Clovis; two daughters, Michelle Jones of Portales and Conceita Davis of Clovis; four sisters, Elle Jewel Jones of Broken Bow, Okla., Tinny V. Crayton and Inetta Foster, both of Clovis, and Maxine Johnson of Buffalo, N.Y.; two brothers, Climmer Moorer of Clovis and Joe Wille Moorer of Odessa, Texas; and five grandchildren.
