Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery at Groom by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St., in Amarillo. Mrs. Hermesmeyer married Charles F. Hermesmeyer in 1932 at Groom. He preceded her in death in 1987. She was a member of Christian Mothers. Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn Thompson of Prattville, Ala.; five sons, Ernest Hermesmeyer of Glendale, Calif., Gene Hermesmeyer of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bob Hermesmeyer and Martin Hermesmeyer, both of Groom, and Gerald Hermesmeyer of Amarillo; a sister, Alice Britten of Groom; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery. Mr. Garcia was a student at Plainview High School, where he had just completed the 10th grade. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe. After graduating from school in Follett, he attended Clarendon Community College at Clarendon and North Texas University at Denton. He was retired from both ranching and the Roylex Construction Co., which he owned for many years. She married Clarence Sparkman on Dec. 2, 1943, at Haskell. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she also retired as their secretary after 20 years of service. Survivors include her husband, Clarence Sparkman of the home; a son, Terry W. Sparkman of Denver; a granddaughter, Tracye Henderson and husband Tim of Amarillo; two great-grandchildren, Berkley and Hayden Henderson of Amarillo; four brothers; five sisters; and a multitude of friends. He worked for 331/2 years for the Amarillo Fire Department, serving 101/2 years as fire chief. His second career was with the Panhandle Regional Planning Commission for nine years. He married Jackie Dobson in Amarillo in 1938. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy Garrett and husband Bill of Grapevine; two brothers, John Schwan of Amarillo and Sam Schwan of Clovis, Calif.; two granddaughters, Holly Raif and husband Tony of Carlsbad, Calif., and Amy Klein and husband Dana of Redondo Beach, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Samuel Raif and Cassidy and Camryn Klein. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with the Rev. Melvin D. Suttle of San Jacinto Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Lightfoot was born in Burkburnett on Nov. 8, 1924, and was raised in Pampa. He married Juanita Ada Ruff on July 8, 1950. The son of Albert and Rudell Lightfoot, Mr. Lightfoot was a devoted husband and father. He served as a paratrooper during World War II, making two combat jumps in Europe. His decorations and citations include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the American Theatre Campaign Medal, Eame Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, two Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on Jan. 29, 1946. After moving to Amarillo, he worked as a union ironworker for 40 years before retiring. Survivors include his wife, Juanita of the home; three sons, John Taylor Lightfoot of El Cajon, Calif., Michael Jean Lightfoot of Amarillo and Bobby Joe Lightfoot of Westmoreland, Kan.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News May 28, 2001 Eddie Norman Eddie Norman, 52, of Amarillo, died Thursday, May 24, 2001. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in St. Stephen United Methodist Church with the Rev. Terry C. Lowe of the church officiating. Cremation was by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Norman graduated from Tascosa High School in 1967. For more than 20 years, he lived in Austin, where he was the owner and operator of Hand Feats Furniture. Survivors include four daughters, Maggie Primich and Nivah Norman, both of Nashville, and Rose McCollum and Maria Norman, both of Hawaii; a son, Adam Norman of Hawaii; two brothers, Tom Norman of Amarillo and Jerry Norman of Austin; a sister, Linda Yingling of Oklahoma City; parents, Ed and Betty Norman of Amarillo; grandmother, Artie Bonner of Amarillo; and a grandson. Interstate 40, with Pastor Eugene Staton of Foursquares Gospel Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Melton was born on Dec. 17, 1923, at Quanah. He married Alice Sargent on July 17, 1942, at Clarendon. In 1953, he moved to Amarillo from Lompoc, Calif. A veteran of World War II, he served from 1943 to 1945 as a member of the 782nd Tank Battalion. He served in the European Theatre and received the American Theater Campaign Medal, the Eamet Campaign Medal with a bronze star, Good Conduct Medal and Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Survivors include his wife, Alice of the home; a son, Colby Melton of Amarillo; four daughters, Sandra Hodnett of Riddle, Oregon, Sharon Van Artsdalen and Shelley Sipes, both of Amarillo, and Melody Hilburn of San Antonio; two brothers, Readus Melton of Salem, Oregon, and J.B.
