Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Clarendon Church of Christ with Bryan Gochenour, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Thomason was born Jan. 7, 1914, in Tucumcari, N.M. She was a Wellington resident from 1929 until moving to Clarendon in 1961. She married Frank Lonzo Thomason on Jan. 1, 1933, at Hollis, Okla. He preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Clarendon Church of Christ. Survivors include two daughters, Renee Duncan of Clarendon and Vivian Lee Phelps of Houston; two sisters, Nova Springer of Bedford and Nola Gardner of Salinas, Calif.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Daily News, March 29, 2001 Cleona Hawkins WHEELER - Cleona Hawkins, 81, died Saturday, March 24, 2001. Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Wheeler Cemetery with the Rev. Toby Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements were by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Hawkins was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Chuckiehoo, Okla. She had lived in Pampa for 40 years before moving to Wheeler in 1998. She was a cook in a restaurant. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Hawkins. Survivors include two daughters, Edith White of Hedley and Mary Ann Cox of Grand Junction; Colo., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Aaron Reed, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tulia by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mrs. Preston married Orvil D. Preston on May 22, 1954, in Littlefield. She was born and raised in Hart. Survivors include two sons, Leslie Preston and Kelly Preston, both of Hart. The family suggests memorials be to Vista Care Family Hospice of Plainview; or Tulia Cemetery Association. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, Bell Avenue Chapel, 5400 Bell St. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Yocom was born in Tucumcari, N.M., and was a graduate of Palo Duro High School. He was a three-time medal winner for bowling in the Special Olympics. Survivors include a brother, Jim Yocom of Denver. Amarillo Daily News, March 29, 2001 Christal Lee Read Christal Lee Read, 76, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, March 26, 2001, in Phoenix. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Miss Read was born Sept. 2, 1924, in Willow, Okla., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Read. She moved to Amarillo in 1941 from Spearman. She was a graduate of Amarillo High School. She retired from Amarillo National Bank after 34 years. Survivors include two sisters, Ruby Hayden of Phoenix and Thelma McCleod of Amarillo; two brothers, Eddie Read of Ringgold and Glen Harris of Amarillo; many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends from Arizona and Texas. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Carver came to Amarillo in July 1949 from McAlester, Okla. She was a member of Bykota Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Ron Huffstutler of Kaufman and Jim Carver of Amarillo; two daughters, Shirley Lowery of New Mexico and Betty Carver; two sisters, Winifred Felty of Amarillo and Reba Colter of Fort Collins, Colo.; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great- grandchild. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. in the church by the Rev. John C. Daniel. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Smith was born Sept. 15, 1922, in St. Louis. For many years she operated the Smith Cafe in San Jon. Survivors include five sons, R.J. Smith and Pat Smith, both of Albuquerque, Bob Smith of Lithia Springs, Ga., John Smith of Lubbock and David Smith of Tucumcari; two daughters, Mary Ann Dominguez and Noreen Hendrickson, both of Tucumcari; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.
