Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fairview Church of Christ with Bill Mayes, of Childress Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Manuel was born to Charlie and Iva Moore Floyd on Sept. 15, 1916. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include three daughters, Coleen Smith of Childress, Shiryl Murphy of Mesquite and Norma Kiker of Knoxville, Tenn.; three sons, Troy Manuel of Euless, Nicky Charles Manuel of Godley and Reginald Glen Manuel of Carrollton; two sisters, Viola Aungst and Lanora Hollenbough, both of Washington; a brother, Earl Floyd of Wenatchee, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Eddie Tubbs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Garnette was born July 13, 1921, in Inez, Ky. She married Leo L. Meek on Jan. 26, 1946, in Prestonsburg, Ky. She was a Dumas resident since 1946 and lived in Lake Ozark, Mo., for the past three years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Dumas. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994; and two brothers, Jim and Pearl Goble. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Robert L. Meek of Odessa and Dr. William D. Meek of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a daughter, Mary Jo Ferrell of Lake Ozark; two sisters, Romaine Kirk of Inez and Rushie Webb of Huntington, W.Va.; a sister-in-law, Verna White of Dumas; five grandsons; and two granddaughters. Mr. Hoyle was married to the former Virginia Edmondson on Jan. 10, 1940, in Matador. He operated an automobile and farm equipment dealership from 1950 until his retirement. She retired after 35 years of work as a secretary and cashier for the local office of West Texas Utilities. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Brown, in 1996. Mr. Cavis was born in Sampsel, Cimarron County, on Dec. 22, 1922, to Earl G. and Opal Brown Cavis. He retired from the Guymon Post Office in 1979. Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two daughters, Linda Cavis of Holualoa, Hawaii, and Paula Sue Mariconda of Hardesty; two sons, Keith Cavis of Hastings, Minn., and Kendall Cavis of Griggs; two stepchildren, Kathy Smith of Yukon and Jodi Baze of Higgins; a brother, Allan Cavis of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren. Mr. Wood was born in Clarendon and graduated from Clarendon High School and Clarendon Junior College. He retired from teaching in 1965 and continued to farm and ranch until 1992. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Ruth Wood; and a sister, Evelyn Jean Mann of Clarendon. Parmley Charles W. Parmley, 77, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 27, 2001. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Dumas Cemetery with the Rev. George Haddox, of Cliffside Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Parmley was born in Channing and graduated from Dumas High School. He served in World War II as a paratrooper and was a decorated veteran. He married Georgia Fitzgerald in Clovis, N.M., on May 20, 1974. He was a shoe salesman for White & Kirk and Nieman Marcus in Dallas. He was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. Amarillo Globe-News, July 30, 2001 Henrietta Stokes Henrietta "Penny" Walker Stokes, 75, of Amarillo, died Sunday, July 29, 2001. Services will be held at a later date in Artesia, Miss. Burial will be in the Walker family plot by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Stokes was born Sept. 6, 1925, in Artesia, the youngest of three daughters, to Henry Y. and Ruby Simpson Walker. She moved to Texas during World War II and lived in Pampa for 45 years. She was a wife and a homemaker. She worked for 10 years at the Pampa Senior Citizens Center first as a volunteer and then as assistant director. Mrs. Stokes died at home of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease). She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pampa until 1997, when she moved to Amarillo, where she became a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lenard Stokes, in 1997. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Candaco Hinkle Conn and husband, E. Dixon Conn III, of Beaumont and Margaret Pearman and husband, Darrell Pearman, of Amarillo; two sisters, Beulah Thompson of Tupelo, Miss., and Juanita Abernathy of Kingston, Tenn.; and six grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and Miles Conn of Beaumont, Margaret Conn of Nashua, N.H., and Brooke and Scott Pearman of Amarillo. The family can be visited today and Tuesday at 7203 Dreyfuss.
