Mrs. Goffinet was involved with the Fairview Cemetery Association, Meals on Wheels and the ladies auxiliary of Hall County Hospital. Mr. Ware was born in Amarillo and had been a lifetime resident. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1971, attended Amarillo College and graduated from West Texas State University. He was involved in the family oil and gas business. He married Susan Vick on Aug. 8, 1995, at Orlando, Fla. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Susan Ware of the home; parents, Jean and Charles Ware of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Ware Smith of Amarillo; a niece and two nephews. She married William "Bill" Payne on Nov. 22, 1936, in Cimarron County. Survivors include a daughter, Anne Hanrahan of Longview; two sisters, Dorothy McVey of Teague and Louise Goode of Vicksburg, Miss.; a brother, Willis McVey of Austin; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 31, 2001 Mabel Smith CARROLLTON - Mabel Smith, 92, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Llano Cemetery at Amarillo. Arrangements are by Rhoton Funeral Home of Carrollton. Mrs. Smith was born on June 30, 1908, in El Paso. She was a resident of Amarillo for 39 years and a Dallas resident for almost 40 years. She passed away at her residence with her family by her side. She will be dearly missed by many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 38 years, John E. Smith. Survivors include her sons, John William Smith and wife, Frances, and Alan Lee Smith and wife, Pat; a brother, Frank Faust of Fredricksburg; grandchildren, John, Janet, Teal, Debbie and Sheila; and great-grandchildren, Josh, Kenny and Harper. Visitation will be today at the funeral home.
