Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Boxwell Brothers Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Brad Foster, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date. Mrs. Starkey was born Feb. 17, 1942, in Watonga, Okla. She lived in Dumas more than 35 years. She worked for Dumas Independent School District in the cafeteria and as a janitor. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Dee Starkey III of Las Vegas, N.M., and Sam Starkey of Dumas; a daughter, Sharon Lair of Amarillo; two brothers, Charles Southerland of Vici, Okla., and Sam Southerland of Clinton, Okla.; a sister, Eddie Rae Shafer of Grady, N.M.; and six grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Holy Cross Mausoleum Chapel in San Antonio with Dr. Ed Skidmore officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Arrangements are by Porter Loring Mortuary North in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Brewer went to be with the Lord on Jan. 9, 2002. Mrs. Brewer was born to James and Katherine Acker of Nazareth, Texas. She graduated with a registered nurse degree from St. Anthony's Hospital in Amarillo. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Acker and Charles Acker; and a sister, Irene Gidden. She is survived by one son, Harvey Brewer in Goliad, Texas, and two daughters, Lois Smith in San Antonio and Elaine McClay in Greer, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Matthew Brewer, Stephen Brewer, Rachel Brewer, Shane Smith, Robin Smith, Jeremy McClay and Jennifer McClay; three brothers, Robert Acker, James Acker and Jerry Acker; five sisters, Lorene Dick, Regina Warren, Aurelia Schoenenberger, Mary Ann Waltershield and Josetta Heinrich; and many nieces and nephews. "Floyd" Berryman J.F. "Floyd" Berryman, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2002. Services were at 2 p.m. Friday in Southwest Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Ford, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Llano Cemetery East by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Berryman was born Jan. 9, 1916, in Ponotoc County, Okla. He was a longtime resident of the Amarillo area. He worked for Pantex as a quality control inspector, retiring in March 1984 with 32 years of service. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church and Senior Adult Sunday school class. He married Mildred on Jan. 21, 1944, in Amarillo. He coached baseball, umpired for Kids, Inc. and was an avid golfer. He was preceded in death by his wife in December 1996; a brother, Glenn Berryman; and two sisters, Lucille Cope and Nadine. Survivors include three sons, Jim Berryman and Bob Berryman, both of Amarillo, and Steve Berryman of Dallas; two brothers, Nathan Berryman of Tulsa, Okla., and Ewell Berryman of California; five grandsons; three great-granddaughters; and two great-grandsons. She moved to Amarillo as a teen-ager and graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Lawrence "Don" Mills on April 9, 1971, in Clovis, N.M. She was retired from Pioneer Natural Gas Co. Mrs. Mills was an avid bridge player and a member of the Petroleum Wives Bridge Club. Mr. Hallagin managed the Guymon Sear's store for more than 25 years. He recently worked in security at the Seaboard Plant.
