Mrs. Tennison was born Oct. 14, 1900, in Crowell. She married Willie Hobson Tennison on April 6, 1923, in Munday. Burial will be in Restlawn Cemetery in Hereford. Mrs. Rains was born in Tahoka in 1919. She had resided in Amarillo more than 25 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hereford. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Amarillo and a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for many years. She counseled many alcoholics and was faithful as a member. She was instrumental in setting up a halfway house for women receiving treatment for alcoholism and was the first executive director. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Dora Lee Howell, in 1997. Survivors include a son, James N. Rains; and two nephews, Gene Griffin and Eldon Howell. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 15, 2002 Lee Lackey Lee Lackey, 71, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2002. Marty Hamrick of Polk Street United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Lackey, a longtime resident of Amarillo, passed away Sunday. She fought bravely as a result of complications from rheumatoid arthritis. She was born Eula Lee Chadd on April 30, 1930, in Emporia, Kan., the oldest daughter of Guy and Burtrice Chadd. Bill and Lee Lackey were married Dec. 23, 1951. Their 50th wedding anniversary was remembered this past December 2001. Their marriage ceremony took place in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel, as will her funeral. Mrs. Lackey was focused on family and involvement in the Amarillo community. Her employment over the years includes Southwestern Public Service, Northwest Texas Hospital, Staph Amusements and Southwest Pork Feedlot. She retired from Acco Feeds after 17 years in 1999. She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law, Ann Blackburn-Warren in September 2001; and a daughter, Jill Diane in 1959. Survivors include her husband; three children, Gwen Lackey-Crow and husband, Elton "Roy" of Virginia Beach, Va., Leta Lackey-Nixon of Amarillo and Hugh Lackey and wife, Shannon, of Canyon; a sister, Farrell Williams of Madison, Kan.; three special sisters-in-law, Betsy Northrup and Kay Sheffield, both of Amarillo and Nan Sullivan of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Pamela Crow of Virginia Beach, Chelsie Marlatt and Reese Marlatt, both of Canyon, and Tana Nixon of Amarillo; eight nieces and nephews; and a special friend and uncle-in-law, E.M. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church. She married Harold A. Webb on Sept. 29, 1934. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 16, 1966. Mr. Ornelas was born in Del Rio and lived in Amarillo for 33 years. He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from the military after 23 years as a tech sergeant. He then worked as a civil service officer for the Potter County Sheriff's Office under T.L. Baker. He worked there for 17 years. During this time he obtained a bachelor of science degree from Wayland Baptist University. He was a member of Lions Club in Del Rio and coached Kids, Inc. in Amarillo. He married Cecilia Lopez in 1961 at Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his father, Miguel Ornelas, in 1983; and a brother, Mike Ornelas, in 1984. Survivors include his wife; his mother, Maria Ornelas of Austin; two daughters, E. Joyce Ornelas of Amarillo and Marisol D. Cervantez and husband, Rey, of Temple; two sons, Raul M. Ornelas Jr. and Geoffery J. Ornelas, both of Amarillo; four sisters, Norma Sandoval of Fort Worth, Teresa Ornelas of Austin, Rosie Spivey of Woodland Park, Colo., and Blanca Ornelas of San Antonio; a brother, Rene Ornelas of San Antonio; his parents-in-law, Domingo M. and Julia Lopez of Amarillo; and nine grandchildren.
