Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Whiteaker was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Temple, to Odice Vaughn and Martha Elma Grubbs Beck. She was raised in Nocona and attended Nocona High School where she was elected Miss Nocona her freshman year and chosen Nocona's Loveliest Girl. She married Robert E. Whiteaker on Oct. 15, 1940, in Sherman. She attended Baylor University from 1942-1943 and then attended Amarillo Secretarial School from 1944-1945. They were stationed at several Army bases and she worked as a stenographer and clerk/typist at most of the bases. After his discharge they moved to Dallas and in 1959 they moved to the family ranch near Dalhart. She moved to Dalhart in the early 1960s. She was a past member and stenographer for Amarillo Junior League, a member of First Baptist Church and an excellent cook. She will always be remembered for the breakfasts she would prepare during quail season. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include a son, Pat Whiteaker and wife, Staunton, of Dalhart; two daughters, Martha Clark and husband, Rick, of Pampa and Debra Horn and husband, Travis, of Dalhart; a sister, Marilyn Castleberry of Amarillo; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Johnson was born in Fort Morgan, Colo., on Dec. 22, 1934, to C.D. and Ruth Garver. She attended Fort Morgan High School and graduated in 1953. She was employed by Wells Lamont Glove Factory. She married Bill Johnson on Aug. 1, 1954, at First Christian Church in Fort Morgan. They followed his work in the oil field in several states before moving to Darrouzett where they made their home the last 35 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Garver of Fort Morgan; and a brother, Gordon Garver of Fort Morgan. Mr. DeWolfe was born in Kansas City, Mo., and raised in Guymon, Okla. He married Violet Heitschmidt on Jan. 31, 1942, in Canyon. He joined the Army in 1942 and served in World War II in Africa and Europe as a member of Military Police Battalion 766, before he was discharged in 1945. After being discharged, he moved to Amarillo and went to work for Furr's Food where he retired in 1981 after 35 years. He was a member of Washington Avenue Christian Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Christian August Longanecker in 1990. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Raymona J. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Fordham was a lifelong carpenter and member of Carpenters Union No. 665. He was a volunteer firefighter in Washburn. He married Katherine Jackson on May 20, 1973, in El Paso. They came to the area in 1976. He worked at Western Builders for 19 years. He helped construct Wal-Mart stores, Westgate Mall and the Harrington Cancer Center. He was a deacon at Washburn Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a great-niece. He moved to Florida in 1980 from Amarillo, Texas. He was a retired machinist for Bureau Mines. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, having flown 33 missions in Western Europe and the Air Offensive. He received a Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal with three oak clusters.
