Her parents moved the family to a farm in Plainview during her early years. She had many fond childhood memories and often spoke of them. The Trues have always been a close family and these strong family ties have been a hallmark of her life. After graduating from Plainview High School in 1944 she entered college at Texas Tech University where she met Bennie Setliff. They were married Aug. 21, 1948, in First Methodist Church of Plainview. Their first child, Karol, was born in Amarillo in 1951. They moved to Califonia shortly thereafter, and three other children followed: Sandy in 1954, Stan in 1958 and Melissa in 1963. She loved California. Her relationship with the Lord led her to involvement with the church. She took up golf and especially enjoyed spending time at the coast with the family and her sister and brother-in-law. In 1969 the Setliffs moved back to Borger which proved to be a wonderful place to raise their children. She continued her interests in golf, was an accomplished seamstress and was known for her creativity in the baskets, pillows, skirts and other items she took pleasure in creating and selling at craft fairs. She was an exceptional grandmother to Kristina and Jared and her other four grandchildren bom to Melissa and Dan Broughton: Benjamin, Nathan, Abbie, and Aaron. She also loved to travel with Ben. They enjoyed many wonderful trips in recent years and always returned home telling stories about "the nicest people" they met.
