Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by Bartley-Silva Funeral Home. Mrs. Thomas spent most of her adult life as a private care giver. She was actively involved in New Jerusalem Baptist Church. Mr. Harvey was born in Amarillo and was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. He served in the Army, stationed in West Germany. He was a 36-year veteran of the automobile sales industry in the Amarillo and Panhandle area. He was general manager of Lone Star Chrysler-Plymouth from 1983 to 1993, and then at Midway Chevrolet in 1994. He was employed by Westgate Chevrolet for the past seven years. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Louise Harvey; his father, Ralph Harvey; a brother, Richard Harvey; and a sister, Elizabeth Wheeler. She moved to Amarillo in 1962. She was a representative for Avon for more than 40 years. She was preceded in death by her husband L.M. "Lightning" Zimmerman on Jan. 1, 1990. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 31, 2002 Gladys Irene Fudge Allen Guy DALLAS - Gladys Irene Fudge Allen Guy, 87, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Balch Springs. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Troy Suggs Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Waxahachie City Cemetery in Waxahachie. Mrs. Guy was born Dec. 11, 1914, in Weinert. She retired from Skaggs Albertson in 1983 after more than 30 years of employment. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Cranford; her father, Albert Owen "A.O." Fudge; and 12 siblings. Survivors include a sister, Terry Olsson; four nephews, James Olsson and wife, Sunday, Jason Olsson, Joel Olsson and Richard Bellamy and wife, Jenny; three nieces, Johnnie Olsson Bellamy and husband, Robert, Rebecca Bellamy and Rachael Bellamy; and many loving friends and co-workers. The family will have visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 31, 2002 R.L. Kirk R.L. Kirk, 71, formerly of Lubbock died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2002, in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock with Dr. Ed Robb officiating. Private burial will take place. Arrangements are by Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Mr. Kirk was born Jan. 24, 1931, in Littlefield. He graduated from Perryton High School and from McMurray College in 1952 with a bachelor's degree. Later, he graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1955 with a master's of divinity degree then graduated from Illiff Theological Seminary with a master's of divinity in 1956. In 1977 he received an honorary doctorate from Asbury Theological Seminary. He served as pastor for many different Methodist churches in different towns such as Sagerton and Tuxedo. While attending Asbury Seminary he served at Mount Hope and Mount Gilead in the Kentucky Annual Conference. While attending Illif he served Ovid Methodist Church in Ovid, Colo., and was organizing pastor of Wesley Methodist Church in Amarillo in 1956. He served as pastor in such towns as Gruver, Seminole, Abilene, Aldersgate, Plainview First United, Lubbock St. Luke's and Pampa First United Methodist churches. After retiring in 1997, he became associate pastor at St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. He has served as a member of the board of trustees for Asbury Theological Seminary for 22 years, Mission Society for United Methodists and finance chairman of the board of directors for Ed Robb Evangelistic Association. He was a past member of board of trustees for A Foundation for Theological Education and served as chairman of the Northwest Texas Conference Board of Pension. He was elected as a delegate to United Methodist General and Jurisdictional Conferences in 1980, 1988, 1992 and 1996 and to the Jurisdictional Conference in 1972 and 1984. He married June Inabnet on Sept. 24, 1997. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Kirk on Jan. 25, 1987; and his father. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert of Midland and Steve of Albuquerque, N.M.; two daughters, Roxanne Brashear of Littlefield and Toyo Kirk of Euless; his mother, Edwyna Kirk of Lubbock; two sisters, Patsy Edens of Lubbock and Mary Tom Tooley of Plainview; and six grandchildren.
