Mrs. Vinton was a member of Christian Mothers at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She married Leon Vinton on June 7, 1935, in Ardmore, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961; a son, Robert J. "Bobby" Vinton in 1983; five brothers; and a sister. She married Walter Campbell on May 12, 1943, in Paris and they moved to Borger where she was a homemaker. She taught tole painting for several years in Borger and loved all kinds of arts and crafts. She was a member of Buenavista Baptist Church in Borger. Amarillo Globe-News, Feb. 19, 2002 Mamie Jackson Poole GROOM - Mamie Jackson Poole, 92, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with Dr. Chester O'Brien and the Rev. Lynn Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Groom Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Poole graduated from Shamrock High School in 1926. She and J.D. Williams married and moved to a farm near Groom in 1929. They had one daughter. She helped her husband farm during the Dust Bowl days. In 1941 she was trained as a surgical nurse. Later she became a beautician owning her own shop in Groom. She and husband, Jimmy McCasland owned restaurants and motels on the Route 66 highway from Shamrock to Vega. At the age of 50 she graduated from Clarendon College, then received her master's degree from West Texas State University and her library science degree from the University of Texas. She taught school in Groom, Vega, Boys Ranch, Marble Falls, Wildorado, Burnet and Ruidoso, N.M. She was a member of the Baptist church and attended regularly. At the time of her death, she was volunteering at Continental Retirement Center assisting with the chapel service and greeting guests in the dining room. She volunteered at Pampa Hospital and Baptist St. Anthony's in Amarillo. She taught Sunday school for 50 years, was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, Delta Kappa Gamma and was a 50-year charter member of Order of the Eastern Star. She had many friends because she moved more than 85 times during her life and wrote her life story called,"A Change of Address." She had traveled to all 50 states and many foreign countries. She and her husband, Eulace Poole lived in South Fork, Colo. Her greatest joy was her family. She was preceded in death by her husbands. Survivors include a daughter, Juanita Brown and husband, Fred, of Groom; five grandchildren, Larry Brown and wife, Karen, Lonny Brown and wife, Susan, and Lezlie Rainer and husband, Brad, all of Groom, Lynita Brown of Dallas and Tracy Brown and wife, Heidi, of Lubbock; and 11 great-grandchildren, Skye, Kori, Kade, Mamie, Maggie, Montgomery, McKinley, Molly, Jackson, Jordon and Whitney. Mrs. Stuman was born June 1, 1912, on a farm near Higgins, the first daughter and the fifth child to Mary Louise Schneider Schafer and Samuel Schafer. Her father was one of the Volga Germans who came from Breunnental, Russia, in 1891. He met and married his wife in Kansas and settled in the Texas Panhandle, where they had eight children. She met and married Patrick Stuman in 1935 at Canadian. They moved to Amarillo after World War II. She loved quilting and reading. Survivors include two daughters, Mary Stuman of Amarillo and Mrs. Charles Barnes of Boerne; a sister, Clare Harrington of Pleasanton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Tucker was born Sept. 28, 1923, to Ira and Rossie Tucker in Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School and entered the armed services. He served in France during World War II. After the service, he received a business degree from the University of Colorado where he belonged to Sigma Nu Fraternity. He moved to Dallas and worked as an investment banker for R.A. Underwood & Son for several years. He left Underwood and joined Merrill Lynch where he became regional manager of the municipal bond department until he retired. He was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. He was married to Ann Glaspy. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, David and another brother, Lawrence. Survivors include his wife; four children, Robert H. Tucker, David L. Tucker, James G. Tucker and Sally A. Tucker; a sister, Elizabeth Paxton; two sisters-in-law, Sue Tucker and Betty Tucker; a daughter-in-law, Barri Tucker; five grandchildren, David Tucker, Pamela Tucker, Elizabeth Tucker, Justin Fain and Juli Fain; and several nieces and nephews.
