Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery of Quitaque by Myers-Long Funeral Directors of Quitaque. Mrs. Helms was born Aug. 13, 1902, in Greer County, Okla. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Quitaque. Survivors include two sons, Joe Edd Helms of Quitaque and Johnnie Helms of Amarillo; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, March 4, 2002 Amarillo Beatrice Staton Beatrice Staton, 88, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 2, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church of Hollis, Okla., with the Rev. James Densman officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery at Hollis by Stewart Funeral Service. Mrs. Staton was born in Hagerman to Suzie and Joe Stephens on May 9, 1913. In 1926, her family moved to Hollis where she met her husband of 73 years. She married Oscar Staton on Dec. 19, 1928. They farmed in Hollis and Vinson, Okla., until 1954 when they moved to Norman, Okla. After 21 years of service, they retired from jobs with the state of Oklahoma. They returned to Hollis in 1975 to farm the Staton family farm and enjoy retirement. She was also a district director for Con Stan Industries and enjoyed her direct sales business for the rest of her life. In 1997, Oscar and Bea moved to Craig Methodist Retirement Center in Amarillo to be near their children. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Clarence Stephens, Eugene Stephens, Jim Stephens, Bill Stephens and Cozzelle Stephens; two sisters, Glennis Trubenbach and Lucille Hair; a grandson, Chris Parker; and a granddaughter, Kari Clements. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Bobby Staton and wife, Betty, and Donald Staton and wife, Glenda, all of Amarillo; a daughter, Beva Jean Bufkin-Little and husband, Travis, of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Private family burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery. Mrs. Forgy was born in Indian Territory, Sentinel, Okla., on March 2, 1904, to T.J. and Zackie Bryan. She was schooled and lived in Shamrock most of her life. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church, an avid bridge player and an accomplished seamstress. She loved to travel. She married Esca Forgy on Feb. 18, 1931. She was a special person to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 9, 1985; her parents; three brothers; and four sisters. She moved to Amarillo in 1950 where she raised her family and founded Folsom Realty. She married Arthur Folsom on Oct. 31, 1953, in Amarillo. She had worked for Ruth Colvin Realty for years before she had her own company, Folsom Realty. She was a member of MLS. She was also a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Third Ward. We will forever cherish the wonderful and blessed person she was, and her love will live on through everyone she touched. Georgia St. Mr. Allison attended high school in Borger and was a 1977 graduate of West Texas State University with a bachelor's degree in business administration. In 1989 he was named president and chief executive officer of Continental Panhandle Lines. In 1995, he was named secretary-treasurer of Texas Bus Association. He was elected to the board of directors of the American Bus Association for 1997-1998. In 1999 he was re-elected for a three year term as a member-at-large of the board of directors of Trailways Transportation Systems. He was active in United Way, was a member of Downtown Kiwanis Club, a past president of Amarillo Convention and Visitors Council and past chairman of Tri-State Fair board of directors. He was most recently employed as head of transportation at Flying Star, a division of Davidson Oil. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Lauren and Andrea, both of Amarillo; his parents, Martha Allison of Borger and Thomas Allison of Amarillo; and a sister, Julie Allison of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.A. and Gertrude Thorn; and a sister, Pauline Harris. Survivors include her husband; two sons, William D. Mrs. Thrash was a housewife and homemaker. She lived all her life around the Felt area and was a member of Felt Baptist Church. As a lifelong resident of Clayton, he worked for the town for over 30 years. He was an evaluator for Texaco Natural Gas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marlin Leroy and Clara Beatrice Mills.
