Amarillo Globe-News, March 10, 2002 Robert Martin Anderson PANHANDLE - Robert Martin "Bob" Anderson, 75, died Friday, March 8, 2002. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church. Burial with military rites by the VFW will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Anderson was born in Panhandle and had been a lifetime resident. He graduated from Panhandle High School in 1944. He served with the Army Infantry, 160th regiment, 40th and 6th divisions in the Pacific for 16 months during World War II. He worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. for 17 years as a plant manager and technician. He was a rural mail carrier for the postal service for 15 years and farmed for 15 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, J.E. Pietzch Chapter 26 of the Disabled American Veterans and American Legion Post No. 54. He married Clara Juanita Eakes on Nov. 22, 1948, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson, southwest of Panhandle. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathryn Juanell Anderson in 1999; a son, Steven Douglas Anderson in 1988; two brothers, Bryan Douglas Anderson in 1994 and Don R. Anderson in 1996; and a grandson, Christopher Lee Caylor in 1980. Survivors include his wife; a son, Robbie Ray Anderson of Hillsboro; a sister, Mary Sue Eakes Wood of Owasso, Okla.; two grandsons, Bryan Martin Anderson and Eric William Caylor; and four granddaughters, Amanda Michele Caylor, Jennifer Anderson, Andrea Anderson and Lindsay Anderson. He married Geraldine "Gerry" Rhea in 1965 at Amarillo. He moved to Amarillo in 1965 from Seminole. He was a self-employed truck driver and was Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife in 2001; a son, Larry Moore in 1992; his father, Carl William Lavender in 1984; a brother, Robert Lavender in 1987; and a grandson, Casey Hoyt Barton in 1997. Survivors include four daughters, Regina Karl, Roxanne Singleton, Carla King and Katrina Stover, all of Amarillo; a son, Doug lavender of Lampasas; his mother, Irene Rhea of Seminole; a brother, J.D. He attended Eastern New Mexico University. He served in the Army National Guard. He married Joan Murray in Tulip in 1965. They lived in Dallas for many years where he owned and operated Park-Allen Inc. He moved to Panhandle in 1978 where he was involved in the oil and gas industry. He was founder and president of Westgate Car Washes from 1985 to 1997. He was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Jinkins on Dec. 5, 1997. Survivors include his wife; a son, Stuart Jinkins of Amarillo; a daughter, Jennifer Rossen of Terrell; his father, R.C. Jinkins of Borger; a brother, Tim Jinkins of Lubbock; and four nephews, Curt Jinkins and Cody Jinkins, both of San Marcos, Jeff Murray of Dallas and Jim Murray of Bonham. He married Jane Trujillo on Nov. 22, 1980, in Clayton. He was a lifelong resident of Clayton and was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. He was an artist, musician and craftsman. He was preceded in death by his father on June 19, 2000.
