Mrs. Lafferty moved to Amarillo in 1949 from Pampa. She moved to Clarendon in 1978. She married Byrul Lafferty in 1937 at Clovis, N.M. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a member of Panhandle Boat and Ski Club in Clarendon since 1963. She was a member of Eastern Star of Clarendon, Senior Citizens Association of Clarendon and VFW Auxiliary in Clarendon. She delivered for Meals on Wheels. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 15, 1984. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Panhandle, Panhandle Road Riders and Christian Motorcycle Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, Olan Webb in 1995. He was featured in a weekly television program, "The Ruth Brent Show," in a segment called "Cooking With Charlie." In 1969 he was associated with Taylor & Sons Foods as general manager and meat supervisor until his retirement. Georgia St. Mr. Robertson was born April 24, 1919, and grew up in Hall County, where he attended Lakeview High School. He served in the Army Air Corps for four years during World War II. He retired as service manager for Lone Star Chrysler. He worked for several Chrysler dealers for more than 50 years. He owned and operated Keith Motor service for six years. He was elected constable for Potter County for two terms. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church, Lubbock Khiva Shrine, Palo Duro Masonic Lodge and he was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was married to Thelma Saunders for 55 years. He then married Molly Griffiths. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1997; and his second wife in 2002. She married Hollie B. Sloan on July 15, 1925. Amarillo Globe-News, March 14, 2002 Mary Ann Ritchie HIGHLAND VILLAGE - Mary Ann Ritchie, 59, died Monday, March 11, 2002, in Dallas. Vigil will be at 7 p.m. today in Schooler Funeral Home of Amarillo, Brentwood Chapel, 4100 S. Georgia St., with Monsignor Francis Smyer and the Rev. Rex Nichols officiating. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Ritchie was born in Pueblo, Colo., on Sept. 3, 1942, to Julius and Mildred Ritchie. She worked as an elementary school principal with the Lewisville Independent School District. She received her bachelor of arts and master of arts from Texas Woman's University in Denton. She began her career in education in the San Antonio Independent School District in 1965. She later taught at Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic School in Farmer's Branch. She joined the Lewisville ISD in 1967 as a teacher at Lakeland Elementary School and later taught sixth grade at what is now Delay Middle School. As science department chair, she was responsible for opening the new science department at Hedrick Middle School. She became principal of Camey Elementary School in The Colony. She served in this capacity for five years. In 1987 she was appointed principal of McAuliffe Elementary School in Highland Village and served there until her retirement in 2001. Under her leadership, McAuliffe received several outstanding awards including, Certificate of Exceptional Achievement award from Texas Education Agency in 1989, Scholastic Games Award in 1990 and TEA achievement award for high performance on excellence indicators in 1992. In 1993, McAuliffe was named one of America's Best Schools by Redbook magazine and it received Recognized Status in 1993 and 1994 by TEA. In 1992 McAuliffe Elementary School was the first school in Lewisville ISD to be named a "Blue Ribbon School" by the state of Texas and the U.S. Department of Education. McAuliffe received "exemplary" status from the TEA every year the Texas Successful Schools Award Program was in place. She attended St. Phillip's Catholic Church in Lewisville. She was a charter member and past president of Kappa Theta, Lewisville's local chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of Phi Delta Kappa and Texas Association of Elementary School Principals. She was a friend, colleague, mentor and teacher to many people. She is loved and will be deeply missed by her family and the numerous children, colleagues and friends whose lives were touched by her presence. Survivors include her mother, Mildred Shubert Ritchie of Amarillo; a sister, Wilma L. Folkner and husband, Lowell, of Amarillo; a brother, Ronald J. Ritchie and wife, Beth, of Hillsborough, Calif.; a niece, Rachel Goodrich and husband, Warren, of San Francisco; three nephews, Chris Ritchie and wife, Amy, of San Mateo, Calif., and Kirk Folkner and wife, Dyann, and Eric Folkner and wife, Teri, all of Amarillo; four great-nephews; and a special friend, Rebecca Davila.
