He was a retired farmer and a member of Templo Bethel Assembly of God in Lockney. Burial will be in Shamrock cemetery by Wright Funeral Directors of Shamrock. Mrs. Shaffer was born Dec. 21, 1914. She had lived in the Shamrock area most of her life. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church of McLean with Brian Quisenberry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery of McLean by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home of McLean. Mrs. Acuna was born to Pascal and Myrtle Holloway on Jan. 22, 1955, in Amarillo. She had lived in the McLean area most of her life. She married Antonio "Tony" Acuna on June 10, 1972, in Amarillo. She had successfully acquired her GED, a cosmetology license and also a floral design license. She was a friendly, outgoing person and dearly loved her family and many friends. Her nieces and nephews were all very special to her. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Acuna and wife, Crystal, of Borger and Joshua Acuna of Camp Lejeune, N.C.; a daughter, Kaitlin Acuna of McLean; her mother of McLean; five sisters, Marie Adams of Wheeler, Faye Crutcher, Effie Payne and Mary Richardson, all of McLean, and Jacque Donovan of California; five brothers, James O. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Texline Cemetery with Rusty Hancock, pastor of Lincoln Street Baptist Church of Dalhart, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Clements was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Eastland to Raymond and Elnora (Stephens) Clements. They lived in Gorman and moved to Dalhart in 1937. He attended schools in Dalhart and graduated from Texline High School in 1966. He farmed in the Coldwater Community. He was a Mason and a member of First Baptist Church of Texline. Survivors include three daughters, Ralene Hall of Booker, Barbara Houston of Adrian and Susan Wood of Dalhart; a son, Stephen Clements of Skellytown; a sister, Glenda Gaylor of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with the Rev. Todd Dyess, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born May 10, 1931, in Childress, to the late Georgia and Oscar Johnson of Tell. She grew up in Tell and graduated from Childress High School in 1948. She attended West Texas State University, graduating in 1952. She taught school at Woodrow Wilson Elementary School in Pampa for 21 years. She married Joe B. Davis in Canyon on Nov. 22, 1950. They have lived in Pampa since 1953. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Iota Teachers Sorority, Retired Teachers Association and was a life member of Texas State Teachers Association. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Harrah Sunday school class. Survivors include her husband, Joe; two daughters, Ruth Ann Noe and husband, David, of Perryton and Kathy McEntyre, and husband, David, of Stinnett; a sister, Gwyn Hulsey of Pampa; a brother, L.N. Cremation arrangements are by Memory Gardens Crematory. Mrs. Thomas married Dick Thomas on March 14, 1975, in Teller County, Colo. They were married for 27 years. She served 10 years as a deputy sheriff in El Paso County. She served on a governor's ad hoc committee for training correctional officers. She was a faithful believer and student of Bible prophecies and taught classes for a number of years in Colorado. She also loved to knit. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Stephen Bergman of Sterling, Colo., and James Thomas of Colorado Springs, Colo.; a daughter, Cheryl Seal of Memphis, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Courtney Seal, Spencer Seal and Neal Bergman. He retired as an automobile mechanic for Gene Messer Ford after 42 years. He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. He married the former Nell Caviness on Nov. 20, 1946, in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife; a son, Richard (Rick) Rogers of Winchester, Va.; a brother, Revis Rogers of Vallejo, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Rachel Rogers of Winchester and Beau Brown of Happy. Mrs. Norman was born in Wellington and had lived in Amarillo for the past 30 years. She was an executive secretary for the vice president of Pioneer Corp. where she retired in 1987. Mr. Brewington was born in Salisbury, Md., and had lived in Amarillo since January 1979. He worked as a computer consultant and was a member of First Christian Church. Amarillo Globe-News, March 18, 2002 Reece Alexander Hough Jr. Reece Alexander Hough Jr., 87, of Amarillo died Thursday, March 14, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wendell Leach, pastor, officiating. Masonic graveside rites will be at 1 p.m. in Westpark Cemetery of Hereford by Claude Masonic Lodge No. 719. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Clarendon. Mr. Hough was born June 19, 1914, in Hereford and had lived in Hereford, Canyon, Bovina, El Paso, Dallas, Denison, Vicksburg, Miss., Conchas Dam, N.M., Albuquerque, N.M., and Claude. At the time of his death he was a resident of Amarillo. He married Clara Lorine Combs on Dec. 10, 1937, in Albuquerque. He was a civilian employee of the Army Corps of Engineers and later the Atomic Energy Commission of Albuquerque before retiring in 1960. He was a 50-year Mason and served as Worshipful Master of Claude Lodge No. 719 in 1980 and 1981. He was a member of the York Rite Bodies, Khiva Shrine Temple of Amarillo and Ballut Abyad Shrine in Albuquerque since 1952. He graduated from Canyon High School in 1931 and attended WTSTC in 1931 and 1932. He began playing the clarinet in 1928 and had played in several bands and orchestras. He was a member of the WT band in 1932 and donated a B flat clarinet, wood series 9, Selmer Bundy B flat clarinet and an original WT band sweater to Dr. Gary Garner, the WT band director. He was a member of the Tenth Avenue United Methodist Church in Amarillo. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry W. Hough, in 1978. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elizabeth Phillips of Amarillo and Virginia A. Temme of Albuquerque, N.M.; a son, Thomas Reece Hough of Amarillo; a sister, Floy Oliver of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Hauger was born March 16, 1912, in Louisville, Ky. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1953, moving here from Dallas. He married Barbara Helen Olive on Dec. 26, 1936, in Louisville. He was a retired carpet salesman having worked with Khourys, Casey Carpet and Mohawk Carpet Co. He retired in 1977. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 16, 2000. Survivors include a son, David Starr Hauger and wife, Barbara, of Boca Raton, Fla.; a daughter, Barbara Martin and husband, Charles, of Fort Worth; a brother, Robert S. Hauger of Dallas; four grandchildren, Sarah Daniel of Fort Worth, Doug Martin of Arlington, Brandy Hauger of Irving and Jennifer Albritton of Biloxi, Miss.; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, March 18, 2002 Wilby Lloyd Noyes Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Memory Gardens Cemetery with Chaplain Bob Thomas officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 15th Avenue and Martin Road. Mr. Noyes was born in Mansfield, Ark., on Oct. 4, 1919. While serving in the Army during World War II, he was stationed throughout Europe. His years as a pipeliner allowed him to travel across the United States as well. He married Bonnie Unruh and they later took up residence in Amarillo. He liked watching softball and rodeos. He especially enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. His journey ended peacefully the morning of March 16 with his sons by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents, seven brothers; and five sisters. Survivors include three sons, Roy Noyes and Russell Noyes, both of Amarillo, and Ray Walden of Canon City, Colo.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Texhoma Cemetery by Dawson-Welch Funeral Home of Texhoma. The Rev. Salsbury was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Marysville, Ohio, to Harry Francis and Blanche Cassle Salsbury. He was an ordained minister and a Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Thatcher of Texhoma and Donna Stevens of Indianapolis; a brother, Ted Salsbury of Zephyrhills, Fla.; a sister, Betty Lahrmer of Williamsport, Ohio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Hodonin, Czechoslovakia, the son of Jan and Anna Eiflaerova Lexa. Mr. Lexa had a work ethic that was second to none between opening his restaurant at 5 a.m., making doughnuts and supporting a family of 15 children. Wood Auditorium of Clayton with Kevin Naillieux and Jim Price officiating. Burial will be in Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Mr. Rice was born on Nov. 17, 1919, in Colfax County to Martin Luther "Marty" Rice and Martha Belle "Mattie" Scifres Rice. He married Winnie Douglas on June 13, 1948, in Mount Dora and they moved to Dumas in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ralph Rice and Edward Rice. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wynell Quackenbush of Albuquerque; two sons, Douglas Rice and wife, Mari, of Texline, Texas, and David Rice of Tyler, Texas; a brother, David Rice of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. There will be at potluck meal at the Clayton Airpark following the funeral service on Wednesday.
