Albrecht DALHART- William "Bill" S. Albrecht, 77, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Jeff Taylor, minister of Central United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Hass Funeral Home. Mr. Albrecht was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Guymon, Okla., to William A. and Viola Ritter Albrecht. He was raised in Guymon and was a veteran of World War II. After his honorable discharge from the Navy, he returned to Guymon. He married RaPaula Johnson on Jan. 22, 1950, in Clayton, N.M. He worked for Michigan-Wisconsin Pipeline from 1951 to 1972, when he and his wife moved to Dalhart. He and his brother operated Porter's Grocery from 1972 to 1980. He was a member of Elks Lodge in Guymon. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Stephen Albrecht and Stan Albrecht, both of Dalhart; a daughter, Ronni Jennings of Dalhart; a brother, Wilbur Albrecht of Dalhart; three sisters, Nevada Porter of Dalhart, Norma Fitzgerald of Sunrise, Ariz., and Viola McLearn of Orlando, Fla.; three granddaughters, Krista Wilkerson, Stephanie Albrecht and Leslie Jennings, all of Dalhart; four great-grandchildren, Hanna Wilkerson, Hayden Wilkerson, Kazlyn Whitehurst and Xavien Albrecht, all of Dalhart; three stepgrandchildren, Shawn Heller of Canyon, Jennifer Feger of Perryton and David Wayne Jennings of Mount Pleasant; and five great-grandchildren. Private family burial was Wednesday in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mrs. Stagner taught school for 37 years; 24 of those were for Hereford Independent School District. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from West Texas A&M University. She was Citizen of the Year in 1956, active in Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Delta Kappa Gamma, Retired Teachers, LAE Study Club and was a member of WMU. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school. Survivors include a brother, Earl Stagner of Hereford; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Debra Buck and family of Hereford. Amarillo Globe-News, March 21, 2002 Lois Lasche Hankins TULIA - Lois Lasche Hankins, 72, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, in Fort Worth. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia with the Rev. John Salazar-Jimenez, pastor of Church of the Holy Spirit in Tulia, officiating. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Hankins was born June 19, 1929, in New Britain, Conn. She graduated from New Britain High School. She then attended Barry College in Miami Shores, Fla., and graduated from Chamberlain College. She was the Connecticut State President of Children of the American Revolution. She met and married Roy Hankins in 1955 at Miami Shores. They then moved to Amarillo where they owned Amarillo Area Glass and later Bar H Cattle Co. in Shamrock. She retired as president of a credit union after 25 years of service. She was a director of Texas Credit Union League. She held offices, including president, of Amarillo Area Chapter of Credit Unions. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992. Survivors include a brother, Robert Lasche of Kent, Conn. Amarillo Globe-News, March 21, 2002 Relia Sharp Ayers MCLEAN - Relia Sharp Ayers, 93, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church with James Martindale and Brian Quisenberry, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery by Bailey-Ware Funeral Home. Mrs. Ayers was born Sept. 17, 1908, in Jackson County, Ark., to Sam and Shell Sharp. The Sharp family moved to McLean in 1927 from Tuckerman, Ark. She married Jack Ayers in Pampa in 1976. She worked for many years in restaurants in and about McLean and Shamrock. She was well known for her down home cooking, especially her pies. At the time of her death, she was the oldest member of McLean First Baptist Church and attended faithfully as long as she was able. She enjoyed being with her friends as a member of 20th Century Club. She had a zest for living and a love of life that made her willing to try almost anything once. At age 77, she traveled to Austin to serve as a model for her great-niece who was taking her state cosmetology test, and she throughly enjoyed the experience. She and her aunt, Safronia Pettit loved to eat out, go shopping and attend church activities together. She will be missed by all who knew her. There will never be another quite like her. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Harris, who was born in 1949 and died in 1967; her father in 1973; her mother in 1978; her youngest brother, Jack in 1950; her nephew, Val in 1967; her aunt in 1996; and her husband in 1993. Survivors include her brother, Arnold and her best girl friend and sister-in-law, Wanda, of McLean; a stepson, Ed Ayers and wife, Lucille, of Jonesboro, Ark.; a nephew, Norman Ray Sharp of Midland; a niece, Peggy Baer and husband, Duwain, of McLean; three grandnieces; two grandnephews; and three great-grandnieces and nephews. Mrs. Anderson was born Feb. 1, 1915, in Deaf Smith County, the daughter of J.C. and Della Allred. She graduated from Hereford High School in 1933 and attended a year of college. She married Carlos Anderson on Feb. 23, 1941, in Hereford. She and her husband owned and operated Hereford Butane for many years in Hereford. She was a member of First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school for the 2-year-old class for more than 40 years. She loved to work in her garden and over the years canned lots of food for her family and friends. She visited and took care of her friends in the hospital and loved to read Readers Digest. She was preceded in death by her husband on Dec. 7, 1993; two brothers, Jimmie Allred and Cecil Allred; three sisters, Sadie Henry, Maymie Allred and Ethel Mayo; and a daughter, Betty Ruth Allred. Survivors include a son, Harold Anderson and wife, Ada, of Lone Tree, Colo.; a daughter, Camelia Jones and husband, Wayne, of Hereford; three grandchildren, Rodney Jones of San Diego, Calif., Stephanie McAlister of Santa Fe, N.M., and Holly Anderson of Dallas; four great-grandchildren, Brandon McAlister, Nathaniel McAlister and Brittany McAlister, all of Santa Fe, and Krista Jones of Amarillo. Mrs. Tolbert was born Jan. 30, 1907, in Fort Cobb, Okla. Formerly of Amarillo, she was a resident of Kress for 34 years, before returning to Amarillo in 1992. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Kress and was active in Senior Citizen's Club, where she was honored as a volunteer of the year. Her hobbies were gardening and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert D. Tolbert. Survivors include a daughter, Charlene Scott Eudy of Amarillo; two sons, Tom Scott of Battle Creek, Mich., and Billy Fred Jones of Amarillo; two sisters, Gladys Hommel of Clarendon and Blanche Hardman of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
