Richardson PLAINVIEW - Frances M. Richardson, 78, died Friday, March 22, 2002, in Lubbock. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Lemons Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenda Johnson and the Rev. Larry Burton officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery in Plainview. Mrs. Richardson was born Sept. 1, 1923, in Floydada, the oldest of 13 children. She married James L. Richardson on Jan. 6, 1946, in Clovis, N.M. She and her husband moved to Wellington in 1950, where he was a court reporter for 38 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Lubbock in February 1988. She was active in 1954 Study Club, school activities and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Wellington. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Paul Williams; five brothers; and a sister. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Karen Sweat and Linda Moorhouse; three granddaughters, Michelle Cash, Amy Moorhouse and Keri Moorhouse; and two great-grandsons, Austin Cash and Zachary Cash. The family suggests memorials be to Canyon United Methodist Church. The family will be at 5224 Ninth St. in Lubbock. Amarillo Globe-News, March 23, 2002 Howard Loyd Howard Loyd, 90, died Friday, March 22, 2002, in Wheeler. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in First Assembly of God Church in Shamrock with the Rev. Z.A. Myers, pastor, the Rev. Earl Ustead of Wheeler and Dr. Lyndol Loyd of Mountainside United Methodist Church of Hot Springs Village, Ark., officiating. Burial will be in Shamrock Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home of Wheeler. Mr. Loyd was born Sept. 9, 1911, to Walter Lee and Julia Wyatt Loyd in Magazine, Ark. He served with the Army during World War II in Quarter Master Corp. He married Margie Cole on Jan. 7, 1942, in Elk City, Okla. He was employed by Warren Petroleum and Gulf Oil Co. as a pumper. He was a member of Assembly of God Church and served on the board at First Assembly of God Church in Shamrock and McLean. He moved to Shamrock from McLean. He was preceded in death by his wife on Dec. 30, 1990; a sister, Audrea Loyd in 1925; and three brothers, Granville Loyd in 1983, Arnie Loyd in 1990; and Lynn Loyd in 1981. Survivors include two brothers, Gwen Loyd of Amarillo and Robert Lee Loyd of Seattle; and three nephews, Lyndon Loyd of Wheeler, Ronald Loyd of Tecumseh, Okla., and Junior Loyd of Choctaw, Okla. Calvin Winters, pastor of First Southern Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Otts was a native of Young County and came to Fritch in 1943 where he was a longtime cattleman in the area. He resided in Fritch until his death. He was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Valree Lucille in 1994; and a grandson, Geoffery in 1994. Survivors include two sons, Arlie and Waymon, both of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Gregory, Kenneth, Mark, Tracy and Michelle; and six great-grandchildren. He served in the Coast Guard during World War II. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1933. She married Jessie Smartt on May 28, 1950, in Clovis, N.M. She worked as a nurse's aide at Highland General Hospital and Coronado Hospital for more than 25 years. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Jessie; three sisters, Wanda Potter, Jean Bush and Dorothy Yearwood, all of Pampa; two brothers, Ferrell Yearwood of Pampa and Marvin Yearwood of Riverside, Calif.; three nephews, Gary Potter and wife, Becky, and Billy Bush, all of Pampa, and Larry Yearwood of Greenville; seven nieces, Sheila Brewer and husband, Robert, and Brenda O'Dell, all of Pampa, Carol Carroll of Amarillo, and Kathy, Kelly, Lisa and Julie, all of Riverside, Calif.; seven great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Brenda Heath of Greenville. Mr. Blocker was born March 24, 1923, in Wheeler County, the first of six children of L.B. and Othello Blocker. He attended school in McLean. He lived in Dimmitt, Tulia and Dumas where he moved in 1972, doing many different jobs in his life. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 and participated in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign. He was preceded in death by his father in 1954; his mother in 1980; a brother, Roy Gaines Blocker; and a sister, Betty Louise Blocker in 1938. Survivors include two sisters, Cora M. Jordan of Amarillo and Idella Crum and husband, Raymond, of Dumas; a brother, Claude R. Blocker and wife, Lillian, of Amarillo; three nieces; a nephew; four great-nieces; and two great-nephews. Mrs. Dussart was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Tecumseh, Okla. She has lived in this area since 1937, moving from Oklahoma. Mrs. McNabb was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Mount Pleasant and was a resident of Albuquerque, N.M., before moving to Amarillo 33 years ago. In her early adult life, she worked in a grocery store and was employed by F.W. Woolworth and Woolco, and later by Blue Morrow Meat Packing Co. before retiring in 1982. She was a member of Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Madge McNabb; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher Banister; and three brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Joanie Simmons and husband, Harper, of Albuquerque and Peggy Collins of Amarillo; a son, Alfred McNabb of Canton; two brothers, Robert Banister and wife, Betty, of Cairo, Ga., and Kenneth Banister and wife, Leota, of Claude; two sisters, Betty Stone of Borger and Barbara Lee and husband, Loy, of Bowie; a sister-in-law, Mary Banister of Clarendon; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Osage St., with Loran Harper of Comanche Trail Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Llano East Cemetery. Mr. Alford was born in Quanah. He married Barbara Ann Turpen on Jan. 28, 1961, in Quanah. They moved to Amarillo in 1971. He worked as a truck driver for 50 years before retiring in 1999. He was a member of Caprock Band Boosters for 10 years. He had been a member of Comanche Trail Church of Christ since 1971. He is survived by many wonderful friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Maribeth Martin of Amarillo and Vonda Rush of Mason City, Iowa; a son, Tony Alford of Amarillo; four grandchildren, Chris Martin and Matthew Martin, both of Amarillo, and Jason Rush and Brianna Rush, both of Mason City; a brother-in-law, Lee Moore of Amarillo; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Moore of Amarillo and Mary Jett of Meadow Brook, W.Va.; and an aunt, Joyce Hyden of Amarillo.
