Services will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in St. Matthew's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Jacob Clemmens, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kelley was born June 17, 1914, in Oil City, Penn., to John and Minna Lou Moyar. She grew up in Midwest, Wyo., and in Colorado, Kansas, Utah, Montana and Texas. She came with her family to Pampa in 1930. Two of her high school years were spent attending Gulfpark in Gulfport, Miss. Her senior year was spent in Pampa and she graduated from Pampa High School in 1934. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Colorado in Boulder in 1939. While there she was a member of Kappa Gamma sorority and Alpha Epsilon Delta premedical fraternity. She was married to Dr. Frank W. Kelley on Dec. 2, 1939, in Fort Worth. She completed a certification in medical technology at St. Paul's Hospital in Dallas. After World War II, she settled with her husband in Pampa, where she worked as a medical technician for her husband and father-in-law at the Kelley Clinic. After the birth of her second child, she devoted herself full-time to her family, church and community. She was a member of Twentieth Century Forum, a member of Lovett Memorial Library Board, a sponsor for 4-H, a leader in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts, a volunteer for Red Cross Swimming, a member of Texas Medical Association Women's Auxiliary and a member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was involved with Bible Study Fellowship. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Frank Kelley; her four children, Dr. Mary Ann Wyss of Fredericksburg, Martha Lou Schakel of Pampa, Frank Kelley Jr. of Houston and Patsy Smith of Mancos, Colo.; seven grandchildren, Brett Schakel of Tucson, Ariz., Shannon Schakel of Golden, Colo., Brandy Schakel of Fort Collins, Colo., Matthew Kelley of Houston, Wyatt Smith of College Station, and Kelley Smith and Clayton Smith, both of Mancos; a brother, Col. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home of Spearman. Mrs. Watley was born Aug. 27, 1926, in Fort Morgan, Colo. She became a registered nurse and worked as Vega's school nurse and for Deaf Smith County Hospital in Hereford. After retiring, she lived in Dalhart and Clarendon where she was engaged in farming and ranching. She moved to Spearman in 1981, where she has lived for the past 20 years. She was active in the Methodist church and served as United Methodist Women's president. She was a member of Hansford County Extension Club. The homemakers yearbook was dedicated to her in 1991 and 1997 as the outstanding member of District 1 for the state of Texas. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Julia Ostwald. Survivors include three sisters, Florence Weitzel of Fort Morgan, Colo., Mary Ann Pollack of Canon City, Colo., and Eleanor Painter of Billings, Mont.; four children, Julie Aleman of Amarillo, Andy Watley and Brian Watley, both of Gruver and Roy Watley of Vega; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He served in the Army from 1952 to 1954 serving as a corporal. He was a member of World War II Army Band. He was a graduate of Amarillo High School and played the French horn in the Amarillo Symphony for 25 years. He ran the last two passenger trains out of Amarillo in April 1972. He closed down the Santa Fe Depot and felt that he had lost a friend. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Texas Panhandle Railroad History Society, National Association of Retired and Veteran Railroad Employees and Model Railroad Club. Survivors include a sister, Evelyn Claytor of Amarillo; and an aunt, Maxine Baird of Amarillo. Mr. Oakley went home to be with our savior Jesus Christ on his 89th birthday for a glorious celebration in heaven. He was born in Memphis and had been a resident of Amarillo since 1948. He was a custodian for Amarillo Independent School District for 15 years before his retirement in 1978. He was a longtime member of Southeast Baptist Church. He married the former Uvie Littrell 67 years ago on Oct. 14, 1934, in Hollis, Okla. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don Oakley of Amarillo and Bill Oakley of Shenandoah; a brother, Vernon Oakley of Lindsey, Calif.; two sisters, Helen Collins of Estelline and Ruby Graham of Memphis; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She married Max Morris in Hollis on Dec. 23, 1945. She retired after 42 years with the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She was a member of American Business Women Association for 30 years and was nominated as Woman of the Year. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 5, 1968; and a daughter, Eloise Morris, in 1988. Mrs. Landes was born in Missouri and had lived in Amarillo since 1942. She married Louis Paschael Landes in 1936 at Brawley, Calif. She worked at Pantex during World War II and was a telephone operator at Herring Hotel. She was a Scout leader and loved to bowl. She was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral for more than 50 years. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 28, 1994. Survivors include three sons, Richard Landes and John Landes, both of Amarillo, and Don Landes of Grapevine; two sisters, Edna Patterson of Imperial, Calif., and Jenny Davies of El Centro, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Root was born near Wisner, Neb., on May 9, 1908, and moved to Canyon in 1925 with her parents, John and Catharine Albers. She married Milton Eugene "Gene" Root in 1927. She was a member of First Christian Church of Canyon where she was elected a deacon emeritus in 1997. She sang many years in the choir, served in the Sunday school and held every office in the Christian Women's Fellowship. She had also been a member of the Canyon Mother-in-Law Club. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff and volunteers at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; a son, Clyde Root, in 1989; and a daughter, Nancy Boston Stewart, in 1999.
