Amarillo Globe-News, April 3, 2002 Acie Dell Boyd HAPPY - Acie Dell Boyd, 88, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in Amarillo. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church of Happy with the Rev. Curtis House, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon. Mrs. Boyd was born Dec. 2, 1913, in Snyder. She attended school at Snyder and graduated in 1932. She married Copus Boyd in 1937 at Snyder, where they made their home until 1947. They then bought a home east of Happy and lived there for 40 years. She moved to Happy after the death of her husband in 1981. She was active in her church and community. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Thompson of Happy; a grandson, Roy Dee Thompson; a granddaughter, Jobeth White; and six great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 3, 2002 Jack Case - Jack Case, 74, died Monday, April 1, 2002, in Lockney. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Church of Christ in Matador with Michael Crowley officiating. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in Dreamland Cemetery in Turkey by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Case was born July 31, 1927, in Hall County. He graduated from Turkey High School in 1945 and served with the Navy during World War II. He married Jeanette Barnhill on May 11, 1948, in Turkey. He was a former resident of Turkey, Amarillo and Hereford prior to moving to Matador about six years ago. He was a retired banker and had also operated a fuel distributorship and farm interests. He was a member of Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Harvey Case of Houston and Ross Case of Galveston; a daughter, Sally Case of San Francisco; two brothers, O.E. Mr. Thompson was born July 23, 1920, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He married Mabel Jones on May 12, 1951, in Carson City, Nev. Mr. Hare was born Sept. 4, 1918, in Quanah, the son of Arthur and Mary Hare. He married Margaret Allen in 1942 and they had lived in Hereford for more than 50 years. He was a veteran, having served in the Army during World War II. Following his discharge, he moved to Hereford where he owned and operated M&M Plumbing for more than 40 years. He was a member of American Legion Post of Hereford for more than 50 years and a member of Hereford VFW. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. He was a master plumber and very active in Full Gospel Businessman's Association of Hereford. He was preceded in death by his wife; and a sister, Naomi Hare. Survivors include a son, Allen Hare and wife, Carrie, of San Antonio; a daughter, Amber Hare of Amarillo; and two grandsons, Ryan Hare and Brady Hare. The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice. Amarillo Globe-News, April 3, 2002 Margaret Elizabeth Franklin Howard Margaret Elizabeth Franklin Howard, 89, of Amarillo died Monday, April 1, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Howard was born near Olustee, Okla. Shortly afterword the family moved to the Roaring Springs area. She went to school and graduated there. After graduation she went to business school in Plainview. There she met and married J.L. Howard in 1934. Three daughters were born to them in Plainview. The family moved to Lubbock where two sons were born. He worked for Southwestern Public Service Co. in Plainview and Lubbock. She was busy raising her family, but was active in Eastern Star and Asbury Methodist Church in Lubbock. In 1952, the family moved to Amarillo to go into business with her husband's parents, J. Lee and Victoria Howard. Their joint business was Howard's Feed Store. Life was a struggle for years as she and her husband put their five children through school and bought the feed store after his parents retired. Eventually they were able to live a comfortable life. After retiring they bought a travel trailer and went to Arizona when the weather was cold in Amarillo. They made many dear friends and enjoyed that life. Her husband died suddenly in 1981. She continued to travel to Arizona for the winter months. In 1988 she married Donald Adams. They divided their time between Amarillo, Apache Junction, Ariz., and Collins, Iowa. He died in 1996. She was active in Trinity Methodist Church, Amarillo Senior Citizens Association and Pilot Club. The family wishes to thank the personnel at Ware Memorial Care Center who made her life richer, more comfortable and happier while she lived there. Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice was involved in her last weeks. Our deepest thanks for their wonderful care and compassion. Georgia St. Mrs. Brady was born in Amarillo on July 15, 1924. She married Earl Brady in New Orleans on Nov. 24, 1943. She worked as a secretary for the railroad for many years. She worked for the Randall County tax office. She was a member of San Jacinto United Methodist Church, TOPS Club member, Good Sam R.V. Club and Alamo Ladies Club. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 28, 1998. Survivors include two daughters, Carole Kirkwood of Amarillo and Susan Mills of Lubbock; a son, David Brady of Red River, N.M.; two sisters, Maxine Coleman of Hereford and Betty Young of Memphis, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Bell St. Mrs. Turner was born to Joe and Marie Gaylor, Christmas Eve, 1947 in Lubbock. The Rev. George Bailey baptized her in 1959. Following a career in interior design and fashion merchandising with Sanger-Harris in Dallas, she settled into life as a homemaker and volunteer. Her efforts benefited the Republican Party, Right to Life and Martha's House among many. She and her husband were married nearly two decades. She was preceded in death by her father in 1988. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Thomas Turner; her mother; a sister, Celeste Saadeh and husband, Constantine; three brothers, Joe Gaylor III, Bob Gaylor and wife, Barbara, and Mike Gaylor; and nieces and nephews, Patrick Gaylor, Misty Gaylor, Andrea Gaylor, Charles Saadeh and McKenzie Lane.
