Stauber George P. Stauber, 92, died Thursday, April 4, 2002. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas, Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in Silent Home Cemetery of Crawford, Okla. Mr. Stauber went home to be with the Lord after a long and courageous bout with Parkinson's disease. He was born Aug. 31, 1909, in Roll, Okla., to Ida and William Stauber. He married Pearlie Mae Ladd on Dec. 24, 1939, in Yukon, Okla. He worked for the Oklahoma State Highway Department for three years before leaving to serve his country in the South Pacific during World War II. He moved his family in 1947 to Moore County, where he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Co. He retired from Phillips in 1967 and moved to Van Horn where he was employed by the Elcor Chemical Plant. He and Pearlie returned to Dumas in 1979. He had been a member of the Masonic Lodge for over 50 years and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. He was ordained a deacon in the First Baptist Church in Van Horn in 1972 and was most recently a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. He was an active member in all his activities as long as his health allowed. He also had a lifetime membership with VFW Post 9022 in Dumas. He loved his Lord, his church and his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Patty Stallons and husband, Gary, of Keller; a son, George R. Stauber and wife, Donna, of Lorena; five grandchildren, Clay Stallons of Keller, Blake Stauber of Crawford, Michal Stauber of Wilmore, Ky., Amy Ginn of Fort Worth and Chassiti Thiele of College Station; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Stallons, Matthew Stallons and Austyn Ginn; numerous nephews; and a niece. The family will be at 1220 Mills in Dumas. Amarillo Globe-News, April 6, 2002 Dessie H. Moody HEREFORD - Dessie H. Moody, 93, died Thursday, April 4, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Randy Dickson, branch president, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery by Rix Funeral Directors of Hereford. Mrs. Moody was born Oct. 21, 1908, in Allen. Survivors include two daughters, Yvonne Vandever and June Rudd, both of Hereford; a stepdaughter, Edna Harvey of Bonnerdale, Ark.; a stepson, Mark Moody of South Jordan, Utah; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Gregory Jr., 67, died Thursday, April 4, 2002. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery of Paducah with the Rev. Keith Prather, pastor of Missionary Baptist Church of Paducah, officiating. Arrangements are by Seigler Funeral Home of Paducah. Mr. Gregory was born Nov. 11, 1934, in Cottle County to Cobert Tines Gregory Sr. and Lena Young Gregory. He served his country in the Air Force. Survivors include a son, Leslie Carl Gregory of Vernon; three daughters, Atonya Gregory, Sandra Dobbins and Sharmie Gregory, all of Childress; two sisters, Shirley Bullock of Paducah and Doris Fergeson of Maud; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in First Baptist Church of Perryton with the Rev. O.K. Bowen officiating. Burial will be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mr. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church. He was an aeronautical weights engineer for various aircraft companies for 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Nora; three sons, Jeff Johnson of Amarillo, Johnny Johnson of Brownfield and Dr. Jerry Johnson of Lufkin; a daughter, Laura Reihm of Perryton; five brothers, Glenn Johnson of Madill, Okla., Tommy Johnson of North Bend, Ore., Ron Johnson of Rochester, Wash., Don Johnson of Albany, Ore., and Earl Johnson of La Salle, Colo.; two sisters, Joan Wolfrum of Perryton and Linda Johnson of Lewisville; and 11 grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 6, 2002 Elsewhere Anna Francisca Posada ARMENIA, El Salvador - Anna Francisca Posada, 96, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002. Services were held Thursday in Armenia. Mrs. Posada was born April 3, 1906, in El Salvador. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Posada, in 1978; two daughters; and a son. Survivors include five sons, Manuel Posada, Humberto Posada and Orestes Posada, all of El Salvador, Alfredo Posada of New Jersey and Randy Posada of Amarillo, Texas; two daughters, Aida Posada and Delma Guillory, both of Los Angeles; 22 grandchildren including Patrick Posada, Paul Posada and Phillip Posada, all of Whittier, Calif.; and numerous great-grandchildren. Keeton; her mother, Ellen Smith; two brothers, James Smith and Ted Hayes; and a sister, Margarette White. Mrs. Cross married Don Cross in 1961 in Lubbock, Texas. She was a cosmetologist who owned her own shop, LaDonna's Beauty Salon in Texico. He was 88. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Second Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Jay Bird Cemetery in Springtown with Cabel Roberts officiating. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Ritchey was born Jan. 20, 1914, in Parker County, the sixth of 12 children. He came to Amarillo in 1932 and started working for H.B. Fain Chemical Co. as a driver in 1934 and later became a salesman. The company was sold and the name changed to State Chemical during World War II and later to Jackson Supply Co. He retired in January 2001 after 65 years of service. A veteran of World War II, he was a cryptographic code clerk in the Army Signal Corps, attached to Gen. Bruckner's headquarters in Alaska for two years and then attached to Gen. Eisenhower's headquarters in Europe for two years. He married Pauline B. Ballard in 1954 in Amarillo. In 1986 he ran for and won a seat on the Randall County Commission, Precinct 4. He did not seek a second term due to his wife's failing health. She died in 1994. He had served on the board of directors for Martha's Home, served as the Randall County representative to the Emergency Management Program and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother, Thomas D. Ritchey of Amarillo; and two sisters, Ruth Everitt of Amarillo and Helen Robinson of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
