Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Bykota Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Rice, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in Silverton Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Brown was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Terrell to her parents, Myrl Cole English and Joseph Carnell (J.C.) English. She was raised in Plainview and had lived in Amarillo for over 30 years. She was a member of Bykota Baptist Church where she was highly involved in the love and action ministry. She married Billy Fred Brown on Sept. 19, 1953, in Clovis, N.M. She was preceded in death by her father; and two brothers, Adrian Keith English and Robbie Joe English. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Rick Dale Brown and wife, Karen Ann, of Panhandle and Wendell Warren Brown and wife, Linda, of Nevada, Mo.; her mother; a sister, Freida Cooper of Lubbock; four granddaughters; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. Memorial services were at 11 a.m. Friday in Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home of Naperville. Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery of Amarillo. Mrs. Beauchamp was born March 27, 1929, in Chicago. She had been a resident of Naperville for the past six years having previously been a resident of Amarillo. She was a homemaker and member of Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church of Amarillo. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Albert Beauchamp, in May 1979; and her parents, Eulious Lee and Theresa nee Climer Jones. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street, with Dr. Howard Batson of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery of Clarendon, Texas. Mrs. Sullivan was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Granbury, Texas, to James Hugh Goodwin and Nettie April Porter Goodwin. She moved to Amarillo in 1922 and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1932. She married C.L. "Jack" Sullivan on Feb. 17, 1934. She attended First Baptist Church. She and her husband were charter members of Paramount Baptist Church. She served as director of pre-school children's activities at both First Baptist Church and Paramount Baptist Church and taught study courses in churches around the U.S. in procedures for setting up departments for teaching children. She moved to Tucson in 1991 and attended Drexel Heights Baptist Church. Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Afton Cemetery by Campbell Funeral Home of Spur. Mrs. Carothers was born Sept. 21, 1932, in Afton to James and Ila Mae Alexander Brown. She married Alvin Carothers on June 24, 1948, in Roaring Springs. She worked as an admissions clerk at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock for many years before moving back to Afton. She had also been a foster parent for the last 20 years. She wrote the Afton news column for the Texas Spur newspaper for many years and was a member of the Afton PTO. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Afton. Amarillo Globe-News, April 7, 2002 Maggie Irene Rhoton Johnson BORGER - Maggie Irene Rhoton Johnson, 90, died Friday, April 5, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregg Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Brown Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. Johnson was born Sept. 30, 1911, in Floyd, Hunt County. She was the eighth of 10 children born to J.T. and Laura Rhoton. Her family moved to a farm outside of Mc Caulley when she was four years old. She married her childhood sweetheart, V.M. "Jack" Johnson, on Nov. 15, 1936, in McCaulley. They moved to Borger on June 13, 1944, where they immediately joined the First Baptist Church. She served in leadership in Sunday school and Training Union, WMU, YWA's, taught 12 year-old girls, served on the Missions Committee and recently helped compile the history for the church's 75th anniversary. She made numerous mission trips all over the world. Some of her travels took her to the Holy Land, Brazil, Taiwan, Germany and many other European countries. She worked four summers in Glorieta, N.M., at the Glorieta Baptist Assembly and made many trips as a sponsor here in the U.S. She began a career of working in Borger school cafeterias when both of her children were in school. She worked as a substitute for a year before becoming a full-time employee. She worked at Bunavista, Gateway, Borger Junior High and Borger High School before moving Austin Junior High. Her career lasted 34 years before she retired in the spring of 1991, just before her 80th birthday. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Johnson, on Dec. 25, 1968. Survivors include a son, Martin "Dee" Johnson of Allen; a daughter, Laura Elizabeth Brinson of Amarillo; a brother, Thomas June Rhoton and wife, Maurine, of Borger; a sister-in-law, Mildred Rhoton of Snyder; eight grandchildren, Sandra Jean Armstrong and husband, Joey, of Bossier City, La., Mark Johnson and Jeffery Johnson and wife, Laura, all of Allen, Susan Daniels and husband, Derek, of Frisco, Brooks Brinson of Lewisville, Boyd Brinson and wife, Kelly, of Sioux, S.D., Branch Brinson and wife, Angela, and Bonner Brinson, all of Houston; four great-grandchildren, Jarrod Armstrong, Samuel Armstrong, Ethan Johnson, Zoe Johnson and Tyler Lane; and many nieces and nephews. He married Freda Travis in Blytheville, Ark., on April 21, 1957. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II, in the Army Infantry during the Korean Conflict, and served 18 years in the Air Force as an aircraft machinist, also fighting active duty during the Vietnam War. He worked for Texas Mental Health and Mental Retardation in Vernon until he retired in 1987. He enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He took great pride in being the private chauffeur for his granddaughter. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Teresa Lomax of Amarillo; a son, John Steven Lucas of Austin; seven sisters, Mary Grasser, Anna Gracey, Margaret Wright, Susan Gracey, Agnes Lucas, Barbara Sodona and Elizabeth Zelanko, all of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Andrew Lucas of Pennsylvania and Paul Lucas of Maryland; and a granddaughter, Michelle Leigh Lomax of Amarillo. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Stowe had resided in Amarillo since 1977. She was born in Hugo, Okla., on Oct. 30, 1919, and later moved to the Rio Grande Valley where her family had citrus farms. In 1937 she married Andrew Warren Stowe and moved with him to Waco where he was enrolled in ministerial studies at Baylor University. She also attended Baylor University. She was an active worker with her husband in Baptist churches in Big Spring and Brownfield as well as Raton, N.M., Guymon, Okla., and Canon City, Colo. After her husband's retirement from full-time pastorate in 1977, she served for two decades as a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church in Amarillo where she also helped establish the Laotian and Vietnamese ministry. In addition, she worked alongside her husband during his interim pastorate at Washburn Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Stowe Galloway, in 1988. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Caroline Stowe Chamblin; five grandchildren, Andrew Chamblin of Los Alamos, N.M., Jonathan Chamblin of Albuquerque, N.M., Rhonda Galloway Boyce of Austin, Kimberly Galloway Holston and Mark Galloway, both of Amarillo; and four great-grandchildren, Jaron Loera, Bailey Boyce, Madison Jonas and Spencer Jonas.
