Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Walter Greaser officiating. Burial will be in Hansford Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Enck married Michael Enck in 1982 at Spearman. She was a bookkeeper and a member of First Assembly of God Church of Guymon, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1992; and her stepfather, Louis Karns. Survivors include her mother, Dorothy Karns of Spearman; a sister, Doris Breeden of Spearman; four brothers, Jimmy Shields of Mountain View, Ark., and Herb Shields, Frank Shields and Robbie Shields, all of Spearman; and several nieces and nephews. Alan Burkhalter of Chaparral Hills Baptist Church in Amarillo officiating. Arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home. Mrs. White lived in Friona several years. She worked for Friona ISD as a teacher's aide and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Rhnea Berggren of Amarillo; a stepdaughter, Shirley Truitt of Houston; a stepson, Troy White of Friona; three sisters, Estelle Clark of Lubbock, Gladys Swain of Brownfield and Billie Brian of San Antonio; a brother, Graham Swain of Brownfield; and six grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 9, 2002 Orville K. Smith CHILDRESS - Orville K. Smith, 91, died Thursday, April 4, 2002. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Johnny Robertson of the church officiating. Burial was in Childress Cemetery by Johnson Funeral Home. Mr. Smith worked for Sunshine Biscuits for 35 years, retiring at 62. He was a member of BPOE Lodge No. 1113 and attended First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Patty Gritzfeld of Scottsbluff, Neb.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Childress General Hospital or hospice care. Amarillo Globe-News, April 9, 2002 Cletus Gross DALHART - Cletus Gross, 64, died Sunday, April 7, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Spiritual Life Center with Leon Lancy, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Hass Funeral Home. Mrs. Gross was born Oct. 26, 1937, in Dallam County and raised in Dalhart. On Nov. 25, 1953, she married Roy Gross in Dalhart. She was a member of Spiritual Life Center. She was an excellent cook and had a special spot in her heart for beautiful flowers and plants. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rhonda Figures of Dalhart; a granddaughter, Paige Figures of Dalhart; two sisters, Doris Laney of Dalhart and Glenna Robinson of Hartley; and two brothers, Wayne Brown and Bob Brown, both of Dalhart. Services will be at 10 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church in Paducah with the Rev. Roy C. Keith, pastor of First Christian Church in Paducah, officiating. Burial will be in Paducah Garden of Memories Cemetery by Seigler Funeral Home. Mrs. Hindman was born May 17, 1914, in Benton, Ky. At the time of her death she was the oldest member of First United Methodist Church in Paducah. Survivors include a daughter, Diana Ratliff of Paducah; and three grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, April 9, 2002 Amarillo Otis C. Manley Otis C. Manley, 84, of Amarillo died Sunday, April 7, 2002. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Scarbrough of Amarillo and the Rev. Charles Davenport of Tulia officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. Mr. Manley was born in Mountain Home, Okla., to Walter and Dessie Manley on March 31, 1918. He moved with his family by wagon to Pawnee County when he was 5 years old. He married Corlea Pappenfus of Jennings, Okla., on Sept. 21, 1940. They lived in Benicia, Calif., and Vallejo, Calif., where he worked as a first class machinist on Mare Island Navy Yard. He came to Amarillo in 1945. He worked for 30 years as a U.S. Postal Service letter carrier. He worked as a full-time minister of music in Baptist churches in Amarillo and the Panhandle area. He served many hours as a volunteer at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital as well as a blood donor and donor of platelets for cancer patients. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda Renegar and husband, Don, of Amarillo and Luana Reed and husband, Jim, of Dumas; three sisters, Mildred Williams and Trula Brady, both of Oilton, Okla., and Opal Martin of Choctaw, Okla.; three brothers, Emmitt of Hereford, Carl of Oilton and Ray of Henderson, Ky.; three grandsons; and a great-grandson. Bell St. Mrs. Parsons was born Nov. 27, 1929, in Hewitt. She came to Amarillo from Austin in 1975. She worked for Wal-Mart Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. She was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Parsons in 1987. Survivors include a son, Michael Parsons of Amarillo; a daughter, Kellie Silver and husband, Eric, of Austin; a granddaughter, Alexandra Grace Silver of Austin; and five sisters, Ardath Denham and Irene Peterson, both of Mission, Doris Chapman and C.B. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Greenwood Memorial Park in Fort Worth by Greenwood Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Mr. Taylor was born in 1925 in Cushing, Okla. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was an entrepreneur in the oil and gas industry and president of Defense Security Systems Inc. He was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Amarillo. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1971. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Blair Taylor, in October 1995. Survivors include two sons, W. Blair Taylor and wife, Anne-Marie, of Coppell and N.L. "Chip" Taylor of Dallas; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Kelly of Coppell; five grandchildren, Cheston Taylor, Bridgette Taylor, Travis Taylor, Kai'li Taylor and Ty Kelly; a brother, Dr. Jim Taylor of Bartlesville, Okla.; two nephews; and a niece. Burial will be in Tucumcari Memorial Park. Mr. Griggs was born Jan. 10, 1910, in Puerto Canyon, near Norton. He was an employee of First National Bank for 20 years. Survivors include his wife, Berta; a son, Dwain Griggs of Bosque Farms; two daughters, Leona Morris of Tucumcari and Karen Maddox of Kerrville, Texas; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Alden-Harrington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Bonner Springs Cemetery. Mr. Dunham was born Sept. 2, 1970, in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated in 1988 from Caprock High School in Amarillo and was a graduate apprentice at International Brotherhood of Boilermakers Iron Shipbuilders Blacksmiths Forgers and Helpers. He was a member of Boilermaker Union No. 531 in Amarillo and Wyandotte Masonic Lodge No. 3 in Kansas City. He was the welding instructor at the Boilermakers National Apprenticeship Program in Kansas City. He married Barbara Dunham on Dec. 19, 1988. He was preceded in death by a sister, Shannon Michelle Stout in 1977. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Claire Austyn Dunham and Bridget L. Addie, both of Bonner Springs, and Nicole E. Hardin of Tonganoxie; his mother, Linda F. Dunham of Cripple Creek, Colo.; his father, Darrell L. Dunham of Canon City, Colo; his grandparents, William A. and Cleo Adams of Amarillo; and five grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be in the name of his daughter, Claire, to Brotherhood Bank and Trust, 756 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS 66101.
