Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church with Dennis Boylan officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mrs. McQuilliams was born May 4, 1936, in Nazareth. She married Donald Ray McQuilliams on March 8, 1974, in Hobbs, N.M. She lived in Hobbs until 1995 and then moved to Nazareth. She was preceded in death by her husband; her father, Toney Gerber; and a brother, Jerome Gerber. Survivors include her mother, Mary Gerber of Nazareth; a sister, Regina Hoelting of Nazareth; five brothers, Fancis Gerber and Vincent Gerber, both of Nazareth, Ed Gerber of Lubbock, Norbert Gerber of Woodward, Okla., and Dennis Gerber of Hereford; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church of Tulia with the Rev. Scott Hensley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery of Tulia by Wallace Funeral Home of Tulia. Mr. Standridge was born March 14, 1926, in Atkins, Ark. In 1964, he started Standridge Pump Co. which he owned and operated until his retirement in 1996. Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Brenda Mitchell of Plainview; and a grandson. Amarillo Globe-News, April 15, 2002 1/2 col mug Billy McCarty: 1923-2002 Billy McCarty DALHART - Billy "Bill" McCarty, 79, died Saturday, April 13, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Stephen Lowrie, pastor of the church, and Clifford Dane, minister to senior adults, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery of Dalhart by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. McCarty was born Feb. 3, 1923, in Carlton to William T. and Dolive (Clark) McCarty. They moved to Dalhart that same year. He was a 1941 graduate of Dalhart High School and attended West Texas State University before entering the Navy. After World War II he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in accounting. On Feb. 14, 1945, he married Mary Thomson and in 1949 they moved to Dalhart. He was a member and Deacon Emeritus of the First Baptist Church and a member of the Texas Cattle Feeders Association. He retired in 1990. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and three brothers. Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy McCarty and wife, Suzi, of Borden, Ind.; a daughter, Nancy Clayton and husband, Sammy, of Dalhart; a sister, Grace Stephens of Oklahoma City; a sister-in-law, Minnie McCarty of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Andy McCarty and wife, Sandra, of San Jacinto, Calif., Scott McCarty and wife, Gina, of Shelbyville, Ind., Amy Allen and husband, Dean, of Amarillo, Sherry Brading and husband, Robert, of Henryville, Ind., Thad (T.J.) Arrangements are by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mrs. Brace was born May 31, 1911, in Dublin to Hannibal and Rena Jane (Goin) Howell. She was an active member of the Rock Island Lodge and attended the Lincoln Street Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Charles Henry Brace Jr. of Wray, Colo., James M. Brace of Dalhart and Larry A. Brace of Texhoma, Okla.; a daughter, Carol Ann Yelton of Herculaneum, Mo.; a sister, Louise Long of Stratford; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Lasserre was born in New York and had lived in Amarillo for the last six years. He owned and operated Handyman Mechanical and Rhonda's Dry Cleaners. Georgia St. Mrs. Schell married John Schell in Beeville on Oct. 8, 1988. She was a phlebotomist and homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church. After battling a long illness, she is at home with her Lord. He was a retired electrical contractor in the construction business. He was a member of the National Electric Contractors Association and was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Coast Guard. He was Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife on Jan. 5, 2001. Survivors include two daughters, Lyndel Cotton and husband, Roy, of Murphy and Ronda Morris and husband, Joe, of Marshall; a brother, Leonard Cox of Chandler, Ariz.; a sister-in-law, Dorothella Dean of Norfolk, Va.; grandchildren, Brent and Susan Barry of Dallas, Blaine Morris of Houston, Ragan Morris of Tyler and Derek Morris and Austen Morris, both of Austin; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah Barry and Ian Barry, both of Dallas. Mrs. Patterson was born in Paducah and attended schools in Matador, Spade and Levelland. She was married to J.C. Patterson on Sept. 14, 1970, in Clovis, N.M. The family suggests memorials be to any cancer organization. Amarillo Globe-News, April 15, 2002 Canyon Irene Hooks Irene Hooks, 84, of Canyon died Saturday, April 13, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Brooks Funeral Directors of Canyon with Rick Bloodworth, pastor of Happy Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in Dreamland Cemetery. Mrs. Hooks was born in Hollis, Okla., to John and Katherine Baccus Easter. She attended country schools in the Hollis area. She married Woodrow Hooks in 1937. In 1948, they moved to Borger and started her family and worked at the North Plains Hospital. She moved to Tucumcari, N.M., in 1970 and operated a dress shop with her sister. In 1983, she moved back to Borger and opened up another dress shop. She moved to Canyon in March 2000. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill Easter, Lloyd Easter and Johnny Easter; and a sister, Darlene Stegall. Survivors include her husband; a son, Harold Hooks and wife, Earline, of Canyon; a daughter, Kathie Polhemus and husband, Ron, of Hanna City, Ill.; three sisters, Billie Watkins of Paradise, Calif., Margie Barnett of Tucumcari and Revena Johnson of Hollis; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
