Arrangements are by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Wimberly was born May 8, 1937, to T.H. and Martha Hunter in Texline. She attended Texline schools, graduating from Texline High School in 1955 and attended West Texas State College in Canyon. She married Jon Cooper Wimberly on Dec. 9, 1955, at Portales, N.M. They made their home in Vega. She enjoyed working with children and youth, serving as Brownie, Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She was a member of the Vega United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday school and Vacation Bible School teacher, choir member and Women's Society member. She was an EMT and a member of the Vega volunteer ambulance service. She was a friend, mother and grandmother to every life she touched. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1998. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kimbley was a homemaker and resident of Moore County for the past 61 years. She was born July 19, 1925, in Ware. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. She married Rollie N. "Bill" Kimbley on Nov. 22, 1941, in Dalhart. She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Nathan Kimbley; three brothers; two sisters; and a grandson. Cremation arrangements are by Blackwell Funeral Home. A Friona resident since 1996, he moved here from Bovina where he had lived since 1990. He was born Nov. 29, 1924, in Chillicothe. He was a former resident of Gruver and Dimmitt. He married Hazel Hargrove on June 11, 1953, in Clovis, N.M. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Gruver. He was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had previously served on the volunteer fire departments in Gruver and Dimmitt. He was a retired diesel mechanic. He was an avid reader and loved to fish. The love of his life was his grandson. She married Charles Martin Megrew in 1946 and relocated to Milan, Mo., where she co-owned and operated the May and Megrew Drugstore. She moved to Burlington, Iowa, in 1949 and had lived as a homemaker until 1975 when she moved to Amarillo and resided until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1985; and a son, Shawn Martin Megrew in 1947. Amarillo Globe-News, April 28, 2002 Amarillo Jeanne Sieverman Jeanne Sieverman, 82, of Amarillo died Monday, April 22, 2002. Memorial services will be announced. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Jeanne was born April 9, 1920, in Columbus, Ohio. She was the oldest child of Claire Laycox Brophy and Lewis Andrew Brophy. Her father was a journalist for The Associated Press, which required the family, with two daughters now, to move to Chicago when Jeanne was 7 years old, then to Washington D.C., and then back to Chicago. The Brophys moved to Larchmont, N.Y., in 1937. During her last year in Chicago, Jeanne met Frank A. Sieverman, from Bayside, N.Y. When the Brophys moved to New York Jeanne and Frank became reacquainted, fell in love and eloped. They were married on Feb. 19, 1937, and subsequently had six children, three girls and then three boys. The Sievermans lived in the New York area until 1955, when they moved to Saginaw, Mich. Five years later the family moved to Amarillo, which was a dramatic cultural change from their life in the northeast. Upon arriving by train into Amarillo, Jeanne looked out the window and said, "This is it?" She had no idea that she would come to love the town and the people in it. In 1973, Jeanne went to work for Kline's Women's Wear, where she was a saleswoman for many years. In 1979, she moved back to New Rochelle, N.Y., to take care of her aging father. At age 62 Jeanne was selected from more than 100 applicants and enrolled in a course to become a certified chemical dependency counselor. Upon graduation in 1983 she went to work for National Council of Alcoholism. A year later she went to work for Bedford Hills Maximum Security Prison for Women, counseling inmates with addictions. Her charges respected her and admired her. Jeanne retired in 1994 and moved back to Amarillo, where she was glad to reconnect with old friends and familiar haunts. Jeanne Sieverman was an avid reader, a great cook, a witty conversationalist and Scotch-Irish proud. She lived an examined life and lived life to the fullest. She is gone, but will certainly never be forgotten. The family wishes to thank the staff in CCU at Baptist St. Anthony's, the staff at BSA Hospice and Jeanne's many friends whose support throughout the years has been unwavering. And appreciation to Wendy Blackmon, a very special angel, whose love and devotion to her friend, Jeanne, is inspiring. The family will never forget your kindness. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Frank Sieverman IV; and a son-in-law, Bruce Bohannon. On June 17, 1980, she married David Albertson in Amarillo. She was of the Baptist faith and was a nursing home administrator for many years. Mrs. Wright enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her husband lived in Timbercreek for 30 years before moving to Amarillo. She enjoyed cooking, collecting dolls and spending time in Las Vegas. She married Larry Wright on Aug. 10, 1946, in Amarillo. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Hunsley was born in 1903 in Plattsburg, Mo., to William and Elizabeth Parr where she lived until her marriage to Arch B. Hunsley. In 1924 they moved to Amarillo until 1946 at which time they moved to a ranch outside of Canyon. They later subdivided this land into "Hunsley Hills." She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years. "Izzy" was an active member in Houston at West University United Methodist Church and the Bertha Smith Friendship Class as well as West University Senior Citizens Association before moving to Amarillo in 1989. She cherished the friends she made at Clairmont Retirement Residence and the Crestview Assisted Living Facility in Amarillo. She attended Cleburne schools and Texas Woman's University in Denton. She married Henry Peter Lichte Jr. in 1935. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983. Survivors include a son, H.W. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Burkhalter was born in Canute, Okla. She married the Rev. J.E. Burkhalter in 1940 at Wellington. He died in 1995. She had been a resident of Amarillo since 1942. She was a unit clerk at St. Anthony's Hospital in the 1960s and was a homemaker. She was a member of San Jacinto Assembly of God for more than 50 years. Survivors include two sons, Joe Wayne Burkhalter and wife, Cathy, and Wesley Dale Burkhalter, all of Amarillo; two sisters, Dorothy Sharp of Claude and Delores Phelan of Hewitt; four brothers, Melvin Sasser of Cheyenne, Okla., Billy Dale Teakell of Amarillo, Raymond Sasser of Dumas and Joe Dean Sasser of Waco; four grandchildren, Sherri Dean and husband, Paul, of Bali, Indonesia, Susie Anderson and husband, James, of Pflugerville, Kim Hance and Ryan Burkhalter, both of Amarillo; and four great-grandchildren, Brandon Hance, Mike Anderson, Mindy Anderson and Joe Edgar Dean. Amarillo Globe-News, April 28, 2002 Emerson Laird Campbell Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, in the Parlor at Park Place Towers of Amarillo. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mr. Campbell died following a long courageous fight with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born in Kansas City, Mo., and moved to Amarillo in 1939. He attended Texas Tech University and studied mechanical and industrial engineering. During this time he developed a love of Amateur Radio and all things electronic. He joined the Naval Reserve in 1948 and traveled extensively to the Caribbean and South America in Destroyer Escorts. Later he served in the Naval Security Group as a Cryptologic Technician and retired as a chief warrant officer in 1984. He earned his Amateur Radio (HAM) License in 1951 and went by the call signs W1CUT and W1HQ. He moved to Connecticut in 1954 accepting a position with the American Radio Relay League in Newington. He ultimately became Publications Manager and Managing Editor of their monthly international publication, QST. His love of the outdoors made him a skilled mountaineer, hiker and bird watcher. He enjoyed amateur radio, photography, astronomy, playing the piano and accordion and could be found many evenings and weekends traveling New England on his BMW motorcycle. He sought adventure in life and was fascinated to learn how things worked. He gained strength by reading books about great struggles and admired Sir Ernest Shackleton for his "Endurance." His beloved partner of the past six years, Shelli Mosier, shared with him love that can be found when you least expect it. His many friends and relatives will fondly remember his keen sense of humor and love of life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance (Hegarty) Campbell in 1990. Campbell and wife, Rie Poirier-Campbell of Canton, Conn., and Mary Campbell-Barry and husband, Will, of Cumberland, Maine; a brother, Bruce Campbell and wife, Carol Ann, of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Deanna Barry and Kayla Barry, both of Cumberland; and partner, Shelli Mosier of Amarillo. She also enjoyed attending Trinity Fellowship Church prior to her illness. She had been a resident of Amarillo for the past 10 years and previously a resident of Wellington for 20 years. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Church of the Nazarene at Guymon with the Rev. Terry Armstrong, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors. Mrs. Weeks, the daughter of Nancy Ellen (Hamilton) and James Wilson Pope, was born Sept. 24, 1913, north of Guymon in what is now the Hough community. She and Russell Weeks were married on June 28, 1933, in Liberal, Kan. She was a member and held many offices of home demonstration clubs for more than 66 years and was also a member of Guymon Order of the Eastern Star No. 419, serving as Worthy Matron and District Deputy. She had been very active in the Morning Star Methodist Church and the Straight Christian Church. Two weeks after their 59th anniversary, Russell Weeks passed away on July 6, 1992. Since moving to Guymon in 1994, she had made her church home at Guymon Church of the Nazarene. She was honored as 1997 Pioneer Queen. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Stephens and husband, Tom, of Guymon; a son, Dwight Weeks of Edmond; four grandchildren, Vicki Jo Fehlberg and husband, Randy, of Guymon, Tamra Kay Clawson and husband, Dan, of Hardesty, Kimberly Ann Weeks of Amarillo and Douglas Allen Weeks of Tulsa; 10 great-grandchildren; and a special niece, LoRee Booth and husband, John, of Spearman.
