Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Paducah with the Rev. Roy Keith of First Christian Church of Paducah officiating. Arrangements are by Johnson Funeral Home. Mrs. Curtsinger was born Oct. 13, 1915, in Aloka, Okla. She retired from Ford Motor Co. after 20 years as a bookkeeper. Survivors include two nephews, Turner McMillian of Childress and James Paul Maxey of Paducah; and three nieces, Nita Rochelle and Velma Lee Worley, both of Paducah, and Norma Jean Landen of Alamosa, Colo. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Wheeler Cemetery in Wheeler with Jimmye Cole, pastor of Dalhart Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home of Amarillo, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Cole was born in Wheeler County. She married C. Everett "Lad" Cole in 1948 at Wheeler. They moved to Amarillo in 1972 from Pampa. She worked as a nurse in Shamrock and Pampa. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Phillis Garner and husband, Dale, of Amarillo and Becky Voight and husband, Allan, of Hartley; a son, Roger E. Cole of Amarillo; a sister, Emillee Mills of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to Alzheimer's Association of Amarillo. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Enoch Duckett; a son; and two sisters. Mr. Read was born March 21, 1910, in Ben Hur, to Dock Harrison and Ola Christie Read. He married Anna Overton Read of Canyon at Rockwall in 1949. They had been married 53 years and had lived in Canyon since 1962. He was a retired carpenter and steel foreman. He was a World War II Army veteran of both the Asiatic and European theatres and was awarded four Bronze Stars. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Canyon. He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Burns. Survivors include his wife; a son, Lee Read and wife, Barbara, of Amarillo; a daughter, Margie Chapman and husband, Chapy, of Canyon; two sisters, Edna Haskins of Tehuacana and Jane Keller of Arlington; three grandchildren, Lisa Boehning and husband, Shawn, of Umbarger, Jeremy Read and wife, Amber Nicole, of Canyon and Robin Bauerle of Amarillo; and five great-grandchildren, Braden Read, Avery Read, Maecie Boehning, Brodie Boehning and Cidney Bauerle. She was a member of Avenue Baptist Church in Hereford, Texas, and later First Baptist Church of Tuttle. Survivors include five sons, Leroy Self of Eloy, Ariz., David Self of Ankara, Turkey, Leon Self of Norman, Charles Self of Hereford and Joe Self of Amarillo, Texas; a daughter, Audrie Stowers of Sun City, Calif.; a brother, Bradford Anderton of Mineral Wells, Texas; a sister, Naomi Merrill of Hereford; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 4, 2002 Elsewhere Juan Ennis Blackburn AUSTIN - Juan Ennis Blackburn, 63, died Wednesday, May 1, 2002. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Texas State Cemetery. Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church in Spearman. Arrangements are by Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home of Austin. Mr. Blackburn was born Dec. 21, 1938, in Hamilton County. He graduated from Spearman High School in 1957 and West Texas State University in Canyon in 1962. He then went on to graduate from St. Mary's Law School in San Antonio in 1968 and became licensed to practice law in the state of Texas that same year. He practiced law in San Antonio in 1969 and in Spearman from August 1969 until July 1979. He was 84th District Judge from July 1979 until December 1992. He became a visiting judge from 1993 until his retirement in September 2000. He married Nancy Hess Blackburn on Aug. 6, 1993. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Denice Bridges, Sara Deuillet and Adrian Robison; a stepdaughter, Hillary Stull; a stepson, Stephen Hudson; and five grandchildren.
