Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. (1 p.m. MDT) Monday in Nara Visa Cemetery of Nara Visa with the Rev. Glen Walton, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home of Tucumcari. Mr. Mallinger was born Aug. 19, 1969, in George Air Force Base, Calif. He graduated from River Road High School in 1987. He attended West Texas A&M University for two years. He graduated from Texas Tech University with a bachelor of science degree in chemistry and physics. He was dearly loved by all of his family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lester and Rachael Rinestine. Survivors include his parents, Frank and Mary; a sister, Paula McLeland; a niece, Meagan McLeland of Amarillo; his fiancee, Deborah Shoemaker and daughters, Amanda and Elyssa, all of Waco; and many loving relatives whom he loved dearly. The family suggests memorials be to the American Diabetes Association Research Program. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Southwest Baptist Church with Alan Ford, pastor of Southwest Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mrs. Ammons was born Sept. 30, 1928, in Alden, Ala. She was the first baby born in Alden. She was a retired licensed cosmetologist. She was employed by the Amarillo Senior Citizens Center and was very active in the activities of the center. She was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (DA) Ammons; and a sister, Billie Murray. Survivors include a daughter, Carol Edwards and husband, John, of Amarillo; a son, Robert Bonds and wife, Ann, of McAllen; three sisters, Sally Cuthbert and husband, Oscar, of New Braunfels, Shirley Buchanan and husband, Nolan, of Canyon and Martha Martinez and husband, Marty, of San Antonio.; and two grandchildren, Maggie Ruth of Amarillo and Jon Mac of Denton. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Westerfield was born in Byrans Mill to Angus and Emma Lena Yeatman. She married Earl Stanley Westerfield on Aug. 15, 1932. She was a Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband on Sept. 11, 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Pat Pettit and husband, Bunk, of Amarillo and Nancy Wells of Dumas; a son, Stanley Westerfield and wife, Judy, of Amarillo; a sister, Bea Caskill of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Mark Pettit of Alaska, Kathy Trent of Hazard, Ky., Denise Pettit, Laura Patrick, Debbie Auriemma and Julie Johnson, all of Amarillo, Renee Turner of Edmond, Okla., and Davie Ann Blankenburg of Dumas; 19 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Fenn was born in Clovis, N.M., and had been a resident of Amarillo for 35 years. He was retired from the Santa Fe Railroad where he was the assistant general foreman of bridge and building. He served with the Navy during World War II and was a member of Central Church of Christ. He married Patti Boyd on Aug. 26, 1960, in Clovis. He was an avid hunter of elk and deer and enjoyed the hunt, especially after his retirement. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Joseph Dale Fenn and Hank E. Fenn, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Cissy Fenn Burch of Amarillo; a sister, Jimmie Fenn Lees of Clovis; and seven grandchildren, Andrew, Leslie, Marah, Tessie, Emma Danielle, Bailey and Boyd. Amarillo Globe-News, May 5, 2002 Nelda Martin Nelda Martin, 58, of Amarillo died Friday, May 3, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Second Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Jones officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Martin was born in Fort Worth and raised in Amarillo. She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1961. She married James "Jim" Martin in 1967 at Amarillo. They moved to Clovis, N.M., in 1969, and back to Amarillo in 1975. In 1978 they moved to Portales, N.M., and then back to Clovis in 1982. In 1992 they moved back to Amarillo. She was a homemaker. She was an active member at Second Baptist Church and the Good News Club as well as various church committees and the Senior Citizens Good News Bears Club. She loved God, her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Ruby Hughlett; and a son, Rodney Martin, in 1990. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Pamela Davis of Melissa, Kimberley Martin of Round Rock, and Cindy Boney of Clovis, N.M.; two sisters, Yvonne Winn of Amarillo and Geraldine Palmer of Cuchara, Colo.; a brother, Alfred Hughlett of Amarillo; two grandsons, Kaleb Martin of Round Rock and Blake Boney of Clovis; four granddaughters, Denna Furrow and Ashley Davis, both of McKinney, Jordan Davis of Melissa and Chyann Boney of Clovis; and a great-granddaughter, Rodneigh Furrow of McKinney. Mrs. Culpepper was born June 3, 1919, in Mansfield, La., to Major Wilcox and Carrie Haskett. She married Jesse Culpepper on May 18, 1935, in Mansfield. Survivors include five sons, James Culpepper of Mesa, Ariz., Calvin Culpepper of Phoenix, Larry Culpepper, Kevin Culpepper and Richard Culpepper, all of Wellington; five daughters, Emogene Mallory of Amarillo, Jesse Mays of Fort Worth, Carrie Shannon and Helen C. Culpepper, both of Wellington, and Deborah Kincaid of Arlington; two sisters, Dorothy Kelley of Houston and Mert Henson of Mesquite; 40 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Vega Funeral Home. Mrs. Mason was born in Wichita Falls and had lived in Vega for the past 10 years. She worked as a licensed vocational nurse in the Alzheimer's Unit at Integrated Health Services. She married Sam Mason in 1978 at Channing. Survivors include her husband; four sons, Carmie Mason of Hereford, Chad Mason of Fort Sumner, N.M., Teddy Mason of Vega and Cody Mason of Middlewater; a daughter, Kristal Jack of Vega; her mother, Pauline Spiga of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three brothers, Bob Alexander of Dallas, Phil Alexander of Wichita Falls and Mark Alexander of Granbury; a sister, Lisa Taylor of Lubbock; and eight grandchildren. Mrs. Lamkin was born Dec. 15, 1917, in Kansas. She had lived in Sherman and Hartley County since 1921. She married James Lamkin on April 14, 1940, in Channing. She was a homemaker and an active member of the women's Sunday school class and First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994. Survivors include a son, James Edwin Lamkin of Amarillo; a sister, Mildred Healy and husband, Gil, of Denver; a brother, Eugene Jones and wife, Viola, of Lincoln, Neb.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Clifton Mann, rector at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Houston was born in Ector, Colo., and moved to Amarillo in 1937 where he lived until moving to Houston in 1990. While living in Amarillo he worked in sales for Golden Light Equipment Co. He married Ruth Walls in 1948 at Amarillo. He was a member of Christ Church Cathedral in Houston. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Monte Houston of Houston and Norma Carroll of Amarillo; a son, Jerry Houston of Fort Worth; two sisters, Katrina Savage and Thelma Linn, both of Lubbock; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
