Mr. Seliger was born March 12, 1923, in Eldorado, Ark., and moved with his family to Borger to complete public school. After graduating from the University of Iowa, he served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He earned a master's degree from the University of Chicago, where he met and married the former Alene Jayne Cowen of Des Moines, Iowa. He returned to Borger and started the new steel business of Panhandle Pipe and Supply. As president and later chairman of Panhandle Pipe and Steel he was a leader in the industry. In 1976 he was national president of the Association of Steel Distributors. In 1979 he was named National Steel Distributor of the Year. He was founder and chairman of Lake Steel Inc. of Amarillo. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alene, in 1996. Bell St. Mrs. Wilson was married 61 years to Herman S. Wilson. She lived in Amarillo for 37 years and recently moved to Fort Worth. She was a member of First Baptist Church for 15 years. Her lifelong career was as a registered nurse and lab technician. Her avocation and joy was oil painting. She became a talented artist. She was preceded in death by her husband in February. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Baumberger was born in Lasing, Ohio, and moved to Amarillo in 1971. He served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1971. After his retirement he worked at Pantex for 17 years as an inspector. He was a Baptist. He married Janette Bolin in 1997 at Panhandle. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jewel, in 1996; a sister, Mary Marsh; and a brother, Jack Baumberger. Mrs. Barnes was born to Atha and Charles Aker of Cherokee, Ala., on Oct. 24, 1925. She met Vess Barnes Jr. in 1943 on a bus in Fort Worth. She married him in 1947 and moved to Amarillo. They co-founded Barnes Jewelry in 1956. She served on many arts and nonprofit boards including the Symphony Guild, Art Force and Art Alliance, among others, and served the community in many ways. She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a joyous grandmother, a faithful mother-in-law and a godly woman who will be missed by many. Alexander Jr., 76, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 2, 2002. Services will be at 11 a.m. today in Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church with Charles Meyer, pastor of the church, officiating. Entombment will be at Columbarium at the church by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Alexander was born Feb. 20, 1926, in Knippa to Andrew N. Alexander and Anna Mae Hans. He graduated from Knippa High School in 1943 and joined the Marine Corps in June of 1944, serving on an aircraft carrier in the South Pacific. He married Lucille Cleveland on Nov. 25, 1944, in Santa Ana, Calif. He and his dad did custom farming in the Knippa area for several years and in 1958 went to work for Mason and Hanger-Silas Mason Co. at their Medina facility in San Antonio. In 1965 he was transferred to Amarillo and had lived here since that time. He retired from Mason-Pantex Hanger Pantex facility in December 1986. He enjoyed working in the yard, going fishing, delivering Meals on Wheels and enjoyed seeing their grandchildren grow up. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Carmen Werth; daughter, Eunice Lynn; and a grandson, D.J. Alexander.
