Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in Rock Creek Church of Christ with J.D. Nance and Gary Weaks officiating. Burial will be in Silverton Cemetery by Myers-Long Funeral Directors. Mr. Frizzell was born Sept. 27, 1916, in Floyd County. He married Margaret Francis on Aug. 11, 1939, at the Francis home in the Lakeview community. He was a farmer and member of Rock Creek Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Ronald Colton Frizzell. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Frizzell and Lynn Frizzell, both of Silverton; a daughter, Carolyn Shelton of Silverton; a sister, Laverne Long of Silverton; a brother, Pat Frizzell of Lockney; 10 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Russell Byard, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Lockney Cemetery by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home. Mr. Cooper was Floyd County Pioneer Man of Year in 1990. He was a member of Consumers Fuel Association and Lake Horner Club. Survivors include his wife, Vel; a son, Jerry Paul Cooper of Lockney; a daughter, Ann McCormick of Lockney; a stepdaughter, Kay Johnson of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Amarillo Globe-News, May 11, 2002 Beulah Cox Hurst HAPPY - Beulah Cox Hurst, 90, died Thursday, May 9, 2002, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Chapel in Happy with the Rev. Curtis House, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Happy Cemetery by Brooks Funeral Directors. Mrs. Hurst was born June 24, 1911, in Arney, to Charlie and Mettie Chestnut Cox. She married Raymond H. Hurst in 1929 at Clovis, N.M., and settled in New Mexico where she lived until 1933. They then moved to the Arney community until 1938 when they moved to the Jowell area. In 1943 they moved to Happy and lived there until the death of her husband. She had lived in Amarillo the past 15 years. She had a love for her family and her quilting and enjoyed staying active in her church. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Happy. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986; and three sisters. Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Evans of Amarillo; a son, Shi Hurst of Umbarger; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Trent was born Feb. 8, 1905, in Decatur, Miss. She was the oldest member of Childress Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Donald Trent of Childress; two sisters, Bessie Knioum of Corpus Christi and Addie Coleman of Amarillo; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and a great-great-great-grandchild. Mr. Lacefield was born Jan. 1, 1916, in Plumberville, Ark., to James W. and Cora "Groves" Lacefield. He later moved to Dewey, Okla., where he graduated from Dewey High School and attended business college. He married Loeulla Collier in 1938. He owned and operated a cleaning and tailor shop in Dewey before moving to Phillips in 1941. He worked for Phillips Petroleum until retiring in 1978. He enjoyed traveling after he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and a brother. Survivors include his wife, June; two sons, James Lacefield of Dalhart and Wyatt Lacefield of Borger; a brother, Walter Lacefield of Twenty-nine Palms, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of Pullman Road Baptist Church and served in the Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994; and a sister, Virginia Frost in 1998. He later married Lucile Stone in 1977. He was a longtime engineer for Santa Fe Railway, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Coulter Road Baptist Church and was a member of Masonic Lodge for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife in 1976 and his second wife in 1996. Survivors include a son, Thomas E. Stone of Lubbock; a daughter, Jacqueline L. Mr. Thieman was born Aug. 3, 1946, in Butte, Mont. He taught school in Gallup and Ramah. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Thomasson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery by Wharton Funeral Home. Mrs. Rainwater was born Oct. 18, 1918, in Henderson, the daughter of the late Sam and Lonie Fears Houston. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1935. She married Howard Berry Rainwater on June 27, 1937, in Henderson. She was employed as a receptionist at Rugeley-Blasingame Clinic for 22 years. She helped her husband manage Duke and Ayers prior to retiring in 1980. She was a former resident of Henderson and Palestine and had lived in Wharton since 1948. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and served on the calling committee. She was a devoted Christian mother. After her retirement, she volunteered as a receptionist as Gulf Coast Medical Center. She was a direct descendent of San Houston, the commander of the Texas Army during the Texas Revolution and the first president of the Lone Star Republic. Pallbearers include Chris Rainwater, Todd Rainwater, Keith Rainwater, Randy Rainwater, David Rainwater and Kenneth Rainwater. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 24, 1992; an infant sister; and a brother. Survivors include two sons, Edwin Rainwater and wife, Lucille, of Rockport, and Capt. Tom Rainwater and wife, Capt. Leslie Rainwater of Amarillo; a sister, Kay Nash of East Bernard; five grandchildren, Keith Rainwater, Terri Paterson, David Rainwater, Randy Rainwater and Todd Rainwater; and six great-grandchildren.
