Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors Colonial Chapel with Dr. Randy White, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Hawkins was born Feb. 3, 1916, in Pilot Point and came to Pampa in 1927 from there. He married Frances Elaine Thompson on Dec. 24, 1942, in Panhandle. He was owner and operator of Joe Hawkins Appliances from 1945 until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Everyman's Bible Class. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his wife on Nov. 9, 2001. Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Eddins and husband, Jack, of Pampa; a son, Billy Hawkins and wife, Cynthia, of Amarillo; a brother, Harris Hawkins of Hollywood, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Leslie Jabor and husband, Dr. Miled, and Reagan Eddins and wife, Gracie, all of Lubbock, Judson Eddins of Pampa, Emily Hawkins of Washington, Andy Hawkins of Kansas City, Kan., Melanie Hawkins of Norman, Okla., and Joey Hawkins and Will Hawkins, both of Amarillo; and six great-grandchildren, Miled Jabor Jr., Abigail Jabor, John Jabor, Judson Eddins, Christian Eddins and Kate Eddins, all of Lubbock. A private family burial is planned. Arrangements are by Parkside Chapel Funeral Home. Mr. King was born Jan. 8, 1917, in Zion, Ark., the son of Shelby and Maggie King. He served honorably in the Navy during the World War II. Survivors include a daughter, Jan Garrett of Hereford; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Arrangements are by Moore-Rose-White Funeral Home of Floydada. Miss Golightly was a beautician. She was a lifelong resident of Floydada and member of First Baptist Church. Brown Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Howard K. Batson, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by N.S. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mr. Brown was born in Childress and moved to Amarillo in 1942. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1946 and joined the Army 82nd Airborne. He was discharged in 1948. He attended the University of New Mexico and completed his degree at West Texas State University in 1954. He taught school for a few years before becoming a building contractor. At the time of his retirement in 1995, he was selling real estate. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 1239 and First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Brown, in 1996; and three brothers, Harold Brown, Arthur Hugh Brown and Bill Brown. Survivors include his wife, Mary Lynn; two sons, Perry Brown and wife, Mary, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and David Brown of Amarillo; a brother, Robert "Bob" Brown of Tulia; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Dizmang of Greenwood, Kristi Brown of Abilene and Dominic Goetz of Sherman Oaks. He was a 1960 graduate of Texas A&M University where he played in the "Aggie Band." He married Nancy Rogers in 1962 in Corpus Christi. He served in the Army in Germany from 1962 until 1964. He had been an Amarillo resident since 1972. He was a petroleum engineer for Pioneer Production Co. and was a financial consultant for Equitable/AXA Advisers. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, as well as a Sunday School director. He was active in Scouting for many years. He was a committee chairman for Troop 80 Boy Scouts of America. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Anne Burton of Glendale, Calif.; a son, Jim Burton and wife, Chamene, of Lubbock; a grandson, Stetsen Kimberling Burton of Lubbock; and a granddaughter, Ashtyn Faith Burton of Lubbock. Church, Gideons and Refrigeration Service Engineering Society (RSES). He was an elder in the C.P. Church. He was a veteran of the Army. He was owner and operator of J&M Heating and Air Conditioning Business in Amarillo for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcheata McGowan, in 1987, after 45 years of marriage. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Don McGowan and wife, Pat, of Amarillo and James E. McGowan and wife, Linda, of Fairborn, Ohio; four daughters, Peggy McNutt and husband, Jimmy, Bobbye Allen and husband, Mike, and Gayla Sue McGowan, all of Amarillo, and Debbie McKinney of Pampa; a brother, Bill "Cat" McGowan of Arlington; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He had been a resident of Miami most of his life where he farmed and ranched. Survivors include three daughters, Charlotte Turowski of Bartlesville, Okla., Vickie Marlow of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Debbie Brown of Pampa; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Central Church of Christ Chapel. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 Bell St. Mr. Tucker was a member of the Church of Christ. He worked with the East Side Congregation and served as elder of both the San Jacinto and Central Church of Christ. He was a building contractor in Amarillo and Clovis, N.M., for 40 years. Survivors include a daughter, Anna Faye Barton of Payette, Idaho; a daughter-in-law, June Tucker of Walsenburg, Colo.; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Rector Funeral Home Chapel, 2800 S. Osage St., with Dale Bigham, pastor of Arden Road Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. McEwan was born in Amarillo. He had lived in Houston for the past 11 years. He worked for Moonroofing in Amarillo and worked as a private contractor in the roofing business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juanita Forest and Tom McEwan; and a brother, Loney Stout. Survivors include four sisters, Betty Hodan, Judy Shelton, Brenda Wagner and Lonita Leal, all of Amarillo. The body will not be available for viewing. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery of Pampa. Arrangements in Bartlesville are by Stumpff Funeral Home. Mrs. McPhillips was reared and educated in Lefors, Texas, attending schools there. She was employed as a nurse in the Pampa hospital and doctors offices until 1983. Survivors include her husband, R.W.; two sons, Larry McPhillips of Bartlesville and Mark McPhillips of Wichita, Kan.; two sisters, Glenna Caughron of Bakersfield, Calif., and Marilyn Stefl of Denton, Texas; and five grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Assembly of God Church of Clayton with Leroy Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Kenton Cemetery in Kenton, Okla., by Hass Funeral Directors. Mr. Duncan was born on June 16, 1923, near Lamar, Colo., to John Wesley Duncan II and Golda (Cochran) Duncan. A resident of Clayton since 1997, he lived in Kenton, Felt, Okla., and Guymon, Okla., until 1986 when he moved to Lamar. Survivors include three daughters, Linda Leak of Clayton, Kathy Gose of Littleton, Colo., and Joan Fahrney of Grottoes, Va.; a son, Mike Duncan of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Mildred Davis of Kenton; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
