McClellan FRITCH - Dorothy L. McClellan, 78, died Saturday, May 11, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in First Southern Baptist Church with the Rev. Calvin Winters, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery of Borger by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mrs. McClellan was a native of Greenville and had been a Fritch resident since 1953. She married Odis H. "Hack" McClellan on Dec. 27, 1946, in Perryton. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 20, 1998. Survivors include two sons, Ronald McClellan of Mira Loma, Calif., and Odis H. McClellan Jr. of Borger; a daughter, Sharee Thieleman of Cape Coral, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The body will be available for viewing at the funeral home. Amarillo Globe-News, May 13, 2002 Lida Phifer QUANAH - Lida Phifer, 97, died Saturday, May 11, 2002. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Macedonia Baptist Church with the Rev. James Callins and the Rev. Angus Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Quanah Memorial Park by Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Phifer was born Feb. 25, 1905, in Okolona, Ark., the daughter of the late Newt and Nannie (Lewis) Nelson. She and Simon Lee Phifer were married in 1937 at Quanah. She moved to Quanah in 1936 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church and Missionary Society. She was a past member of the Hardeman County Extension Program Building Committee. She was preceded in death by her husband on Jan. 16, 1987. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, May 13, 2002 Christine Shipley MCLEAN - Christine (Stockton) Shipley, 82, died Sunday, May 12, 2002. Memorial services are pending. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mrs. Shipley was born April 6, 1920, 10 miles south of McLean to W.L. and Mattie Stockton. After the death of her parents, she worked at various places in Texas, caring for children and the elderly, before joining a sister and her family in Baltimore. She married Bill Shipley in Baltimore in 1965. She was preceded in death by her husband; and a son, James William. Survivors include a sister, Frankie Lois Stocker of Umbarger; 11 nephews; and three nieces. The family suggests memorials be to The McLean Care Center, P.O. Box 780, McLean, TX 79057. Services will be at 2 p.m Wednesday in First Baptist Church of Wheeler with Dr. Toby Henson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Cemetery by Wright Funeral Home. Mr. Farmer was born Nov. 3, 1900, in Forestburg to Edward and Lilly Walker Farmer. He graduated from high school in Montague County. He married Bernice Bailey in Pella on Sept. 14, 1919. They moved to Wheeler County in 1931 from Hemphill County and to Wheeler in 1933. He was a mechanic all his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge of Wheeler. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1992; a son, Lowell, in 1992; eight brothers; and a sister. Survivors include a son, P.D. Farmer of Borger; a daughter, Edna Helen Davis of Plainview; a brother, Clifford Farmer of Fritch; two sisters, Lois Johnson of Borger and Oneta Murray of Orange; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He married Debbie Williams in 1969 at Hereford. He had lived in Amarillo for 29 years. He worked for Baldwin Transport for 15 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge No. 1361. He was loved by all of his family and friends. The family wishes to extend their deep appreciation to the staff at BSA Hospice. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Edith Crady. Kelly M.D., 86, of Amarillo died Saturday, May 11, 2002. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Francis A. Smyer officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Dr. Kelly died Saturday while surrounded in love by Beth, his devoted wife of 61 years, and his four children. He was born in Concord, N.H. He received his bachelor's degree from Holy Cross College and his doctorate of medicine from Hahnemann Medical School in Philadelphia. He took surgical training at Scott & White Hospital in Temple prior to moving to Amarillo 50 years ago as a certified surgeon and chief of surgery at the Veteran's Hospital, Northwest Texas Hospital and Saint Anthony's Hospital. He also served as medical director at Pantex. He was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Frank Kelly of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Captain Mark Kelly of The Woodlands; two daughters, Danis Kelly of Milwaukee and Suzanne Kelly of Raleigh, N.C.; a sister, Margaret McClare of Concord; and four grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Shadow Mountain Mortuary Chapel of Phoenix with the Rev. Saeed Hosseini officiating. Private burial will be in Clayton, N.M., at a later date by Hammons Funeral Home of Littlefield, Texas. Mrs. Meadows and her husband, Danny Ray Meadows, moved to Phoenix from Amarillo several years ago. She loved to sing praises to her Lord and Savior and was very active in her church, First Assembly of God, in Phoenix. Survivors include her husband; two sons, David D. Meadows and Donald L. Meadows; two daughters, Elizabeth A. Conklen and Ruth M. Sikes; a sister, Allene McNew Callis; four brothers, Wyman Haisten, Lois Ray Haisten, Tom Haisten and Leon Haisten; and eight grandchildren. Williams, 63, died Thursday, May 9, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Robert Massie Funeral Home Riverside Chapel with the Rev. Carole Thompson of Unity Church of Christianity, officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. Mr. Williams was born July 8, 1938, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Joseph and Esther Ippilito Williams. He married Kay Rochelle on June 6, 1986, in McCamey. He was a teacher in McCamey Independent School District for 18 years and a president of the Mendoza Trail Museum Board for many years. He was the nephew of Ms. Lee Reeder of Amarillo. Pallbearers will be Charlie Roberts, Ted Hooper, K. Duane Hamblin, Jim Collett, Jerry Stinson, James Hall, Jim Sears and Jim O'Daniel. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and nurses' aides on the "B" hall at Riverside Nursing Home and Jannette Kavisic, a friend of the family. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Fred Walker; his stepmother, Leona Williams; his mother, Esther Ippilito Williams Walker; and his father, Joseph Williams.
