Burial will be in Roaring Springs Cemetery of Roaring Springs by Seigler Funeral Home. Mr. Guerrero died near Uvalde in a truck-train accident. Survivors include his parents, Joe and Mary Ann Guerrero of Matador; two brothers, Joel Guerrero of Floydada and Noel Guerrero of Matador; and a sister, Jasmine Porter of Matador. Terry Cosby, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in West Park Cemetery of Hereford by Gililland-Watson Funeral Home. Mr. Witherspoon was a member of Golden K. Kiwanis and was member of the year in 1988. He was a member of First Baptist Church and Hereford Senior Citizens. Survivors include four daughters, Ginny Flowers of Albuquerque, N.M., Linda McLaulin of Homosassa, Fla., Gail Richardson and Billie Jo Reiter, both of Hereford; a brother, Ray Witherspoon of Plattville, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, May 18, 2002 Cleora Katherine "Cloie" Zenor HIGGINS - Cleora Katherine "Cloie" Zenor, 85, died Tuesday, May 14, 2002, in Canadian. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in First United Methodist Church in Higgins. Arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home of Amarillo, 2800 S. Osage St. Mrs. Zenor was born in Ellis County, Okla., on Sept. 28, 1916, to Harry Jay and Bessie Burnett Sawyer. She attended elementary, junior high and high school in Higgins. She graduated from West Texas State Teachers College at Canyon in 1939 with an all-levels education degree. She taught in the public school system for 37 years, retiring in 1977. She married Ross G. Zenor on Aug. 18, 1940, in Cheyenne, Okla. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Higgins, Higgins Chapter 300 Order of the Eastern Star and Texas State Teachers Association. She served on an advisory council of West Texas State University for several years. She was loved and will be missed by many friends, family members and former students. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Phyllis Sawyer Smith. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Phyllis Lea Suthers and husband, James, of Shattuck, Okla.; a son, Thomas Sawyer Zenor of Higgins; two grandchildren, William Kent Suthers and wife, Jana, of Enid, Okla., and Amy Lea Reece and husband, Terry, of Edmond, Okla.; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Scott Reece, Nathan Trent Reece and Mackenzie Lane Reece, all of Edmond, Okla.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mr. Watts had lived in Muleshoe since 1947, moving from Crosbyton. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and was a farmer. Griggs & Sons Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd. Mrs. Pollock was born in Claremore, Okla., on Dec. 31, 1907. She graduated from Claremore High School in 1925 and moved to Amarillo in 1926. She married Frank S. Pollock on July 8, 1928, and together they founded Frank's Barber and Beauty Supply in 1930. The family extends their deepest appreciation to Mrs. Pollock's care givers, Kaki Johnson, Mary Lopez, Gloria Garcia, Donna King and Elida Mendoza. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1963. He was a talented artist, gifted student and winner of spelling bee competitions. He was an accomplished drummer and true gentleman in the making. He had no enemies and many friends. In his 10 years, many hearts of children and adults were turned to Christ because of his witness. Survivors include his parents, Carol and Clint McKinney; a sister, Bailey Morgan McKinney; a brother, Parker Calvin McKinney; grandparents, Jim and Sadie McKinney and Bill and Nancy McDonald; and numerous aunts and uncles. Ms. West was born in Hatfield, Ark., on Oct. 8, 1922, to Rufus Davis and Lucy (Watkins) Davis. She moved to Clayton after she retired from the Sheriffs Department of Los Angeles County, Calif., after more than 25 years. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Billy Rammage, pastor of First Baptist Church in Clayton, officiating. Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery of Capulin. Mrs. Lucus was born in Des Moines on June 10, 1924, to George N. Sneed and Marie (Hotchkiss) Sneed. A devoted mother and grandmother, she raised two daughters alone and battled MS for more than 30 years. Survivors include two daughters, Donna S. Lucus and Diane Avis, both of Clayton; a brother, Lawrence Sneed of Boise City, Okla.; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; and two stepgrandchildren. Mrs. Haynes was born July 16, 1913, in Indian Territory, Okla., on the Cherokee Strip. She was a member of Arlington Heights Christian Church. Survivors include her husband, Fred; a son, Dan Haynes of Fort Worth; and a sister, Jean Carroll of Lubbock. The family suggests memorials be to the Alzheimer's Association. Amarillo Globe-News, May 18, 2002 Donald Woodrow Hardwick Donald Woodrow Hardwick, 82, formerly of Amarillo, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2002, in the Santa Fe, N.M., National Cemetery. An informal gathering will be the morning of May 25 at the cemetery. Arrangements are by Berardinelli Family Funeral Service of Santa Fe. Mr. Hardwick was born Jan. 18, 1920, in San Marino, Calif. As a young teen, he gladly surmounted the difficult challenges of the depression era, farming with a mule, followed by service as a forest firefighter with the Civilian Conservation Corps in the California mountains. He enlisted in the Army in 1940 and was discharged in 1946 as a decorated captain with the 82nd Airborne Division, having participated in the battles of Normandy, Holland and the Bulge. After the military, he joined the Atomic Energy Commission in 1947 with service in Los Alamos and Albuquerque. He then began employment at the Pantex Plant in 1953 and worked at the plant on an almost continuous basis until 1988, primarily as director of safety and security. He was known to be a kind, considerate and conscientious man and he will be greatly missed by family and all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; and his parents, James and Carrie. Survivors include his sons, Craig of San Antonio and Bruce of Prescott, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Jeanette Hinkle of Amarillo; a stepson, Bill Crosby of Orange County, Calif.; grandchildren, Kimberly Jackson, Alison Hardwick, Josh Hardwick and Clay Hardwick; a great-grandson, Eric Johnson; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viewing will be Thursday, May 23, 2002, at the funeral home.
