Mrs. Babbs was a member of First Baptist Church of Gruver. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Mildred Wheat; her husband, Charles Edwin "Eddie" Babbs in 1992; and a grandson, Wesley Babbs in 1999. Survivors include a daughter, Judy Murray of Brookesmith; three sons, Larry Babbs and Mike Babbs, both of Gruver, and Chris Babbs of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Plemons was an oilfield driller and consultant. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1968. Austin College in Nacogdoches and taught school in Pleasant Valley, Grapevine and Post for several years. For a number of years he was a volunteer with Friends of the Library and until last year he was a mentor with HOSTS program, teaching reading at Eastridge Elementary School. Arrangements are by Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St. Mrs. Thomson was born to Will and Edna Rousser on Feb. 13, 1908, in McLean. She grew up in Center Plains community west of Kress. She graduated from Amarillo Business College in 1927. In 1935, she married O.L. "Tommy" Thomson. She was a member of Polk Street United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 28, 1995; two sisters, Maple Heflin of Austin and Lucile Anderson of Amarillo; and a brother, C.W. Rousser of Plainview. Survivors include four nieces, Wildean Dickerson and Mary Sue Cook, both of Austin, Anita Woods of Amarillo and Terri Fargason of Frisco; a nephew, Wes Rousser of Riverside, Calif.; and her caregiver, Pauline Tutson of Amarillo. She taught home economics for Texhoma Public Schools for many years.
