Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors. Mr. Barton was born June 29, 1916, in DeLeon. He retired as natural gas superintendent for Phillips Petroleum. Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Bill Barton of Austin; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, June 6, 2002 Harley Clay Longan CLARENDON - Harley Clay Longan, 83, died Tuesday, June 4, 2002. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. Charlie Floyd, pastor of Texola Baptist Church in Texola, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Longan was born June 7, 1918, in Clarendon and had been a resident of Donley County since 1946, returning here from Dallas. He married Vera Lorelle "Bobbie" Watt on March 21, 1944, in Donley County. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He had been a rancher most of his life before his retirement. He was a Baptist. Pallbearers include Will Chamberlain, Jay Stone, Joe Robinson, Douglas Shelton, Jiggs Mann and Ted Shaller. He was preceded in death by his wife on May 21, 1986. Survivors include four sons, Ron Longan of Howardwick, Phil Longan of Lubbock, Larry Longan of Morris, Okla., and Jake Longan of Justin; nine grandchildren, Kyndle Boyd of Throckmorton, Angie Longan of Fort Worth, Robbie Longan and Penney Longan, both of South Fork, Colo., Mandy Longan of Lubbock, Skeeter Longan and Matt Longan, both of Morris, Okla., and Chris Longan and Linsey Longan, both of Justin; and two great-grandchildren, Parker Boyd and Stormy Longan. Georgia St. Mr. Burke served in the Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He worked as a sales representative for AC Delco division of General Motors for 26 years, retiring in 1991. Mrs. McGreevey was born Nina Dean Brewton on Jan. 27, 1934, one of eight children born to migrant farm workers, Elmer and Esther Brewton. She attended college at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M. She had worked in the insurance field for 40 years, 25 of those in Amarillo. In 1994, she was voted Insurance Woman of the Year. She was the mother of four children from two marriages. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Christie Dyess. Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn McDaniel of Arlington; two sons, Mark McGreevey of Denton and Michael Goodwin of Fort Atkinson, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Sean McGreevey and Freya Scott, both of Round Rock, Cary Dyess of Decatur, Brianne Dyess of Denton, Anthony Goodwin and Tennessa Goodwin, both of Fort Atkinson, and Christie Beth McDaniel of Arlington; a great-grandson, Austin Scott of Round Rock; two sisters, Shirley Vavoudis of Amarillo and Shari Torrez of Adrian; and a brother, Gary Brewton of Roswell, N.M.
