He was a car salesman with a logo on his business card that read, "Deane Friend - Everybody's Friend." Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Mrs. Webster was born Aug. 12, 1946, in Amarillo and died Sunday after a brief illness. She grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School and Draughn's Business College. She married Steve Webster, her high school sweetheart, in June 1965. They lived in Downey, Calif., for 10 years before moving to Raton in 1975. They started and operated S&J Trucking Inc. in Raton in 1984. She loved her family, friends, animals and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer; and her mother, Billye Runquist. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Scott of Memphis, Tenn., and Brian of Pueblo, Colo.; her loving twin sister, Diann McNew of Amarillo; her uncle who was like a brother to her, Jerry Speed of Amarillo; a very special uncle, Kyle Speed; an aunt, Doris Neinast; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Viewing will be at the funeral home in Amarillo today from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. She will then be in Raton for viewing at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Georgia St. Mrs. Freshnock was born in Limon, Colo., and spent her teen years in Boron, Calif. After graduating from high school, she enlisted in the Air Force in 1949. She met her husband, Joe, while she was in the Air Force and they were married in 1950. She was employed as executive secretary to the president of Nunn Electric and Supply for about five years, and to the president of Affiliated Foods for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She was an active member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post No. 1475 and Parkview Christian Church. She married Bill Perkins in 1980. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1978.
