Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today in Wheeler Cemetery with Dr. Toby Henson, pastor of First Baptist Church of Wheeler, officiating. Arrangements are by Wright Funeral Home. Mrs. Taylor was born Nov. 7, 1933, in Mobeetie, to George and Mildred Hampton Porter. She and her family moved to Wheeler in her early life. She graduated from Wheeler High School in 1951. She attended Texas Tech University until her marriage to Paul Millet, when she became an Air Force wife. During the time when her husband was in the Air Force, they lived in Shreveport, La., Cheyenne, Wyo., and Fairbanks, Alaska. In 1959, they returned to Wheeler, where she was a member of First Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Thursday Review Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Georgie Snyder; and a son, San Millet. Survivors include a daughter, Georgann Burrell of Amarillo; a granddaughter, Erica Burrell of Amarillo; a grandson, Jordan Burrell of Amarillo; her ex-husband, Paul Millet of Amarillo; a brother-in-law, Bill Snyder; a niece, Melissa Snyder; a nephew, Bill Snyder III; an uncle, Dennis Porter; and nine cousins. The family suggests memorials be to National MS Society; or American Cancer Society. Amarillo Globe-News, June 26, 2002 Herrman Bryant Barnes Sr. CLARENDON - Herrman Bryant Barnes Sr., 85, died Sunday, June 23, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in First Christian Church with Leonard Holt, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mr. Barnes was born March 23, 1917, in Ashdown, Ark., and had been a resident of Clarendon Since 1988. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He married Margaret Jo Roberts on Sept. 15, 1951, in Hedley. He was a member of First Christian Church in Clarendon. He was preceded in death by his wife on Oct. 20, 1995. Survivors include three sons, Herman Bryant Barnes Jr. of Kingsland, Ron Barnes of Amarillo and Billy Barnes of Clarendon; a daughter, Janice Stoffle of Amarillo; a sister, Lola Mae Newton of Kingman, Ariz.; two brothers, Howard Barnes of Riverbank, Calif., and Odes Barnes of Dove Canyon, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Alexander was born Feb. 2, 1934, in Liberty, Miss. She was a member of Beard Chapel Methodist Church. Griggs and Sons Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Trent Sisemore officiating. Mrs. Sallee was born and lived all her life in Amarillo. She was a 1955 graduate of Amarillo High School. She married Harley P. Sallee on Nov. 11, 1967, in Amarillo. She worked for Melton-Clark Medical Supplies for more than 20 years before retiring as manager in 1989. She worked as a bookkeeper for Noel's Tax Service. She loved and lived for family. She was very active in the lives of her grandsons and followed their soccer teams wherever they traveled. She was a Methodist. Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Tammye Thompson and husband, Joe, of Amarillo; two grandsons, Scott Thompson and Todd Thompson, both of Amarillo; and a sister, Margetta Foster of Deary, Idaho. Arrangements are by Dunn Funeral Home. Mrs. Shore was born Oct. 13, 1909, in Olney, Texas. She came to the San Jon area in 1958, and moved to Tucumcari in 1963. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tucumcari and Adult 6 Sunday School class. She was a member of Bethel Chapter No. 15 Order of the Eastern Star and Rebecca Lodge. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Alvin C. Collins in 1980; and a son, Wayne W. Collins in 1974. Survivors include her husband, Moyers; two sons, James L. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Huddleston, her great-nephew, officiating. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery in Ashland by Ripley Funeral Home. Mrs. Lindsey was born Sept. 19, 1906, in Ashland, to Luther W. Norris and Nancy Alice Doche Jordan, a Mississippi pioneer family. She was a lifelong member of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was married to Jacob Lindsey for 45 years. They moved to Amarillo, Texas, in 1946 where she taught elementary school. Following her husband's death, she returned to Ashland. She lived there until 1996, when she moved to Houston to be near her son. Survivors include a son, James N. Lindsey, M.D., of Houston; a sister-in-law, Bertie Yancey of Memphis, Tenn.; a cousin, Hattie Freeman of Walls; and 26 nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
