Gough, 89, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, in Dumas. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Sunray Church of Christ with Jim York, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Gough was born Aug. 4, 1912, in Kelly, La. He married Lola Pearl Stewart on Aug. 18, 1959, in Dalhart. He was a member of Church of Christ in Sunray. He served in the Army during World War II. He was honored as Sunray Bobcat Booster of the Year. He had been a Moore County resident since 1955 and moved to Sunray in 1959. He retired from Continental Carbon in 1977, after 22 years of employment. He was preceded in death by a son, Alton Stewart; two sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Janet Bingo of Santa Ana, Calif.; a sister, Velma Jo Copeland of Dumas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 2, 2002 Etheline Cantrell Pollard TULIA - Etheline Cantrell Pollard, 93, died Sunday, June 30, 2002, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in First United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Smith, pastor of St. Stephen United Methodist Church in Amarillo, and the Rev. Matt Wolfington, associate pastor of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Lubbock, officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery by Wallace Funeral Home. Mrs. Pollard was born Aug. 8, 1907, in Bellevue. She moved to Amarillo in 1911 and graduated from Amarillo High School in 1925. She married James Alfred Pollard on Sept. 25, 1925, in Hereford. After their marriage they lived in Amarillo until 1945. They moved to Tulia and lived there until 1983. She was a member of United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She received a life membership in Methodist Women's Society. She was a supporter, adviser and treasurer for El Buen Methodist Mission Church in Tulia. She was a founder of Tulia Day Nursery and served as its first volunteer director. She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 18, 1981. Survivors include two sons, Jim Pollard of Canadian and Pat Pollard of Ruidoso, N.M.; three daughters, Barbara Dunlap and Ann Reeves, both of Amarillo, and Mary Oler of Tulia; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Georgia St. Mrs. Oates was born in Andice on Nov. 11, 1915. She graduated from Amarillo High School in 1934 and attended Amarillo College for a year. She married William Dalton Oates Sr. on Sept. 2, 1933, in Amarillo. She lived in Amarillo for 45 years, then moved to Dallas. She worked as an apartment manager for Sabre and Brovant Properties in Dallas and retired in 1988. They retired in Lake Tawakoni and moved to Lubbock three years ago. She was a member of Parent Teachers Association as a life member, Amarillo Garden Club, First Baptist Church of Amarillo, First Baptist Church of Quinlan and Dallas Board of Realtors. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 25, 1999; and her sister, Billie Runyon, who was of Pampa. Survivors include two sons, Bob Oates and wife, Donna, of Longview, and Bill Oates and wife, Micki, of Lubbock; three grandchildren, Brandon Oates and wife, Elizabeth, of Dallas, Brittany Oates of Longview and Veronica Wilson of Lubbock. She was a former member of Bolton Street Baptist Church in Amarillo and a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She married Tom Thomas on Dec. 16, 1941, in Canyon. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 22, 1973, in Amarillo.
