Mahagan, 77, died Monday, July 22, 2002, in Claude. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Lemons Memorial Chapel in Plainview with the Rev. Truett Kuensler, former pastor of Claytonville Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park. Mr. Mahagan received a Purple Heart for his service to the Army during World War II. He moved to Swisher County in 1943, where he was a farmer and rancher. Survivors include his wife, Audrey Young; two daughters, Ellen Hill of Fort Stockton and Kay Henry of Amarillo; one son, Glenn Mahagan of Claytonville; one brother, Melvin Mahagan of Hale Center; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and a great-great grandchild. Amarillo Globe-News, July 24, 2002 Lloyd Leon Molder CLARENDON - Lloyd Leon Molder, 75, died Monday, July 22, 2002. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Citizens Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Knowles, pastor of Community Fellowship Church in Clarendon, officiating. Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors Inc. of Clarendon. Mr. Molder was born April 15, 1927, in Haskell, Okla. He had been a resident of Donley County most of his life. He married Betty Jo Armstrong on Oct. 20, 1951, in Clarendon. He was employed at Clarendon Consolidated Independent School District for several years before his retirement. He had been a farmer most of his life. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Geneva Mays and Julie Molder, both of Clarendon, Kay McDaniel of Hugoton, Kan., Rita Mills of Electra and Susan Woody of Gordonville; a sister, Faye Mobley of Amarillo; 16 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Amarillo Globe-News, July 24, 2002 James "Jim" Osborn MEMPHIS - James "Jim" Osborn, 71, of San Manuel, Ariz., died Friday, July 19, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hughs Memorial Chapel with Tom Posey officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Hughs Funeral Home of Memphis. Mr. Osborn was a veteran of the Air Force. He married Oleta Robertson on Dec. 15, 1950. He is survived by two sons, Jeff Osborn of Oracle, Ariz., and Jay Osborn of Sahuarita, Ariz.; one daughter, Jame Cole of San Manuel, Ariz.; two sisters, Nellie Campbell and Dixie Barbee, both of Lakeview; and seven grandchildren. Burial will be in the "Field of Honor" at Westlawn Memorial Park by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger. Mr. Young was born Sept. 24, 1915, in Indiahoma, Okla. He was a carpenter. Griggs and Sons Pioneer Chapel with the Rev. Ed Lacompte, pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation will be by N.S. Griggs and Sons. Mrs. Delile was born and raised in Amarillo, where she lived all her life. She attended Caprock High School. She married Rick Delile in 1981. He passed away in 1992. She fought a long battle with diabetes and was the recipient of a kidney transplant in 1997. She attended Victory Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include a son, Jason Delile of Amarillo; her parents Earnest and Linda Chasteen of Amarillo; two sisters, Carol Morrison and Cheryl Greer, both of Amarillo; four nieces and two nephews, Brandon, Tabitha, Samantha, Jessica, Chase and Megan. Mrs. Ramos loved God and was faithful in her belief that God was preparing a special place for her heaven. She volunteered for years in a home for abused children and was named "Volunteer of the Year." She moved from Texas to California in 1977. Services will be at 2 p.m. today in Blackburn-Shaw Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Windell Taylor of the Department of Veterans Affairs officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Dalhart. Mr. Stevens worked for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway as an engineer for 37 years. He retired in 1980, and began volunteering at the VA Hospital. He belonged to Windmill Sams travel group, Texas Panhandle Ramblers Winnebago Club and was a member of the Oddfellows. He was an active member of the San Jacinto Baptist church. He married Betty Bell on Dec. 15, 1945, in Memphis. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vickie Hilmers and Barbara Harvey, both of Amarillo; a son, Perry Stevens of Amarillo; three brothers, Claude E. Stevens of Amarillo, Roy Don Stevens of Clarendon and Julius H. Stevens of Tulia; one sister, Mildred Smith of Memphis; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Amarillo Globe-News, July 24, 2002 New Mexico Michael Zapach Jr. ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Michael Zapach Jr., 71, formerly of Amarillo, died Monday, July 22, 2002. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at French Mortuary. Mass will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Risen Savior. Burial will be at noon Thursday at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Mr. Zapach worked for Sandia National Laboratories for 32 years, serving part of that time as the field representative with Pantex. He also worked as a tax preparer for members of the AARP. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Zapach; three sons, Steven Zapach of Amarillo, Mark Zapach and Michael Zapach, both of Albuquerque; a daughter, Angela Pelton of Amarillo; three sisters, Helen Plesnearski of Hot Springs, Ark., Florence Micona of Chicago and Elizabeth Cowley of Indianapolis; a brother, Richard Zapach of Baytown; and four grandsons. Amarillo Globe-News, July 24, 2002 Oklahoma Leo Irene Jones Treadway HOLLIS, Okla. - Leo Irene Jones Treadway, 91, died Tuesday, July 23, 2002. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Chapel. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery. Arrangements are by Stewart Funeral Service. Mrs. Treadway was born to Orvile Fred and Theresa Clyde Jones in Denton County on Oct. 1, 1910. They moved by train in 1919 to Harmon County in Oklahoma, where she lived the remainder of her life. She married the love of her life, Harry Van Treadway, on April 3, 1931, at Antioch Baptist Church. He remained her lover, friend, companion and caretaker the rest of her life. They have been a source of encouragement and an example for their family, friends, community and everyone they came in contact with. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hollis. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, DL Jones and Ray Jones; and two sisters, Baby Avis Jones and Loree Neville. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Linda Stegall and husband, Albert, of Borger and Theresa Mary Lloyd and husband, Tom, of Warrensburg, N.Y.; two grandsons, Harry Lee Stegall and wife, Pam, of Borger and David Van Lloyd of Los Angeles, Calif.; three granddaughters, Tonie Marie Jordan and husband, Jack, of Bartlesville, Okla., Patsy Jean Mitchell and husband, Randy, of Odessa and Dorothy Lynn Newman and husband, Allan, of Borger; 11 great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, a sister, Mildred Zinchini of Vandergrift, Penn.; many nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
