Burial will be in Texline Cemetery by Horizon Funeral Home of Dalhart. Mr. Lamb was born July 31, 1927, in Shamrock to Archie and Bessie (Stuckey) Lamb. He graduated from Dimmitt High School in 1945 and enlisted in the Navy. Survivors include two daughters, Keri Antwiler of Farwell and Tracey McClure of Clayton, N.M.; two sons, Sam Lamb of Amarillo and Billy Lamb of Fort Worth; three sisters, Juanita Summers of Dimmitt, Betty Ruth Bradley of Weatherford and Oney Lee Taylor of Cove Creek, Ariz.; and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church at Nazareth with the Rev. Fern Couture, pastor of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Dimmitt, and the Rev. Guillermo Morales, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spearman, officiating. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home. Mr. Brockman was born March 26, 1953, in Castro County. He married Shirley Maurer on June 23, 1979, in Nazareth. He grew up in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1971. He was a farmer and was employed by George Sides for 14 years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was n Eucharistic Minister and Ministry to Altar service. He was a parent leader for the 4-H organization. He was a loving husband and father to his children which extended to others. He was a dad to many. When capable, he enjoyed life to the fullest. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Coby Brockman of Lubbock and Thomas Brockman of Dimmitt; a daughter, Anna Brockman of Dimmitt; three brothers, Ralph Brockman, Art Brockman and Dale Brockman, all of Nazareth; three sisters, Naomi McGrath of Kansas City, Kan., Monica Mote of Nazareth and Joyce Brockman of New Fairfield, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery by Foskey-Lilley-McGill Funeral Home of Dimmitt. Mr. Verkamp was born Dec. 9, 1933, in Lynn County. He married Mary Backus on April 5, 1961, in Nazareth. He moved to Idalou in 1954 and went to grade school in Wilson. He was a farmer and moved to Nazareth in 1961 where he continued farming. He later went to work for Ed Harris Lumber Co. in Hart and worked there for 14 years. He retired in 1987. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Elaine Irion of Abilene and Theresa Montes of Deltona, Fla.; six sons, Harold Verkamp of Clovis, N.M., Walter Verkamp of Idalou, Paul Verkamp of Slaton and Gary Verkamp, Leon Verkamp and David Verkamp, all of Lubbock; two sisters, Lucille Verkamp of Lubbock and Norma Jean Schwertner of Clarendon; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and a step-great-grandchild. Eddie Tubbs, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Lane Memorial Cemetery in Sunray by Morrison Funeral Directors. Mr. Lackey was born Nov. 22, 1938, at home near Cheyenne, Okla. After serving with the Navy for six years, he moved to Sunray and married Mickey Thomas on Aug. 31, 1962. He was a member of the Sunray Fire Department for several years before moving to Dumas. He was a volunteer for the Dumas Fire Department for 15 years and an active member of the State Jaycees in the 1960s. He was a licensed master electrician; a hunting safety instructor for the Texas Parks and Wildlife for five years; and an enthusiastic golfer. He was also a member of VFW Post 9022 of Dumas. He had been an employee of Diamond Shamrock for 38 years as a treating and blending supervisor before leaving due to an eye disease in 1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dumas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bue and Bessie Lackey; and two sisters, Theressa Aline Lackey and Edna Mae Sharp. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Lee A. Lackey of Fort Worth and Kristina Henderson of Plains, Kan.; three brothers, Bue H. Amarillo Globe-News, July 29, 2002 John J. Randall TULIA - John J. Randall, 81, died Friday, July 26, 2002. Private graveside services will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements are by Wallace Funeral Home. Mr. Randall was born Aug. 15, 1920, in Callao, Mo. He grew up in Callao and graduated high school there. He married Ellen "Penny" Pence on Dec. 7, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Ind. He served in the Air Force from 1943 to 1970. He served in the European Theater during World War II and in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. He retired as a lieutenant colonel. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor of science degree in agronomy and plant sciences in 1974. He moved to Tulia in 1974 and was active in community organizations and civic clubs. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice P. Bledsoe and John A. Randall; and two sisters, Jane Bootman and Joann Mason. Survivors include his wife, Ellen; a son, Geoffrey J. Following his death in 1973 she married Herman J. Hoff on March 5, 1983. She was a resident of Amarillo for more than 45 years. She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Phillip Keith Hulen; her parents; and two brothers, Albert and Buddy O'Neal. Survivors include her husband, Herman; a daughter, Donna Agee of Canyon; three sons, Ronnie Hulen, Roger Hulen and Doyle Hulen, all of Amarillo; a sister, Margaret Perkins of Hot Springs, Ark.; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family. She was a member of St. Laurence Cathedral. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel, on Dec. 7, 1999; three infant children; and two brothers, Joe and Pete Martinez. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre. He was stationed in the Philippines and was a member of the Occupation of Japan Forces. He also served in Korea. He married Gerlene Hill on June 4, 1946, in Cordell, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1951. He and his family were the first home in the Eastridge addition of Amarillo. He was a former employee of Amarillo Hardware. He was a member of Osage Baptist Church. She married Sam Bell on Nov. 3, 1935, in Edmond, Okla. She was preceded in death by her husband on May 14, 1982; and a son, Gerald Mayall Bell, on Sept. 16, 1983. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church of Allison and the Home Extension Club. She was a dedicated wife and mother.
